Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez have both been passed fit to play in tomorrow’s home game with Norwich City.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s press conference has passed and the resultant news is massive for Fantasy managers, with Rooney surely an overwhelming favourite for the armband as United look to get back to winning ways before the two week international break.

“Wayne and Hernandez are fit for tomorrow. They trained very well yesterday, which is pleasing.”

His recovery from a hamstring strain has been swift, then, missing out on just two games- last week’s game at Stoke and the midweek Champions League clash with Basel- with United failing to win either match.

Rooney sits on 43.6% Fantasy ownership but has been sold in the tens of thousands this week, with many assuming Fergie wouldn’t risk him with tough games against Liverpool and Man City just around the corner.

Those who have sold on will be ruing the decision; Rooney has scored in every game this season, racking up 59 points in just five league games and with the game kicking off at 3pm tomorrow, it’ll be a long and uncomfortable Saturday afternoon for those Fantasy managers without his services.

Those who sat tight will no doubt be smiling in anticipation of a possibly substantial points haul already.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

You beauty! Knew it was SAF kidology. Hands up those mugs that sold the Roo and even taken a points hit to do it lol lol, and now can't get him back as they're 0.2 short!!! Probably the same knee jerkers that got in Cahill and Dzeko!!!

As you were then Rooney el capitan and RVP vice.

So A.J. starting maybe or the full backs will be rotated. That means Ballo or Dzeko and Lescott starting IMO. Good news that De Jong is not fit, that means Dzeko will have game time for sure!!! He is desperate to play against Bla cause he scored his first PL goal in that fixture.

I've got RVP / Suarez / Aguero up front.......always planned to do RVP to Rooney. Is it still a good idea to make the change or wait until GW10?
Only problem is that I don't have any MU coverage for this week 🙁

    bastaaaaaaaaaaaardo!

Ferguson I didn't believe you when you said he would not play, I held on for as longer as my itching finger could let me...but I just did a mass Rooney induced exodus (Thursday Night). The only light to this scenario is that my team looks better...

I think Ferguson plays FPL, it's his subtle ploy so that all muppets like me transfer out Rooney and he sails away into the sunset with Rooney (c).

    You poop.

    Now that Rooney is fit:

    Given (Vorm)
Bosingwa, Simpson, Kompany (Enrique, De Laet)
    Silva, Tarrabt, Dyer, Cabaye (Brunt)
    Rooney (C), Aguero (v), Adebayor

2.6 in bank. Worth getting rid of tarrabt or brunt?

        Cheers for reply.

Yeah I was one who took Rooney out, but for Aguero I don't think it'll be such a big problem.

Sunderland and Wolves have better odds of a cleanie than Newcastle, so that's why I chose those 2 over Simpson.

I woul think we'll concede at weekend too so im playing Ward. Be careful of Best, as Mareux/Arfa come back 4-5-1 may be played and mean they dropped/rotated esp away from home, but looks very good to me...

          De laet seems unrelaible too..

I have patiently stuck with Rooney despite seeing his natural replacement (Aguero) rise and rise. However, I'm not feeling smug because I'm still not convinced he'll play. What is good is that the red flag has gone so people will stop selling and presumably, his price is protected for a while anyway?

Rooney's sellers could still have the last laugh...

Just like you, I am in the same situation and completely agree with you. Still not sure whether to captain Roo or Nani. Of course, it will be best if Roo starts and scores, but I am still a bit concerned that SAF may play him just for 20 min or so... ain't good enough...

but that argument could extend to young and nani too, although I would think that Nani will play the full game. Young could be rested after playing midweek.

the other consideration is insurance....so many have Rooney and so many will captain him (most from teams untouched since GW1) that if he does anything and you don't captain him, overall rank suffers.

Ironically this makes it harder for Rooney owners. Before it was clear. Bench him or sell him (I sold him for Drogs). Now however you need to decide the captain side of things. He might play 20 minutes at the end or the first 60 minutes and get taken off after Nani has scored a brace, or he might not play or he might aggravate his injury after 10 mins.

    That's Footy I suppose....or he could grab a hattrick!

    You throw the dice!

Tough one Jonty. In truth neither are outstandingly good players. However they are both well priced and could do well with some decent enough fixtures for the next five or so.

Best has more security of starts, he's been playing well but still missed some good chances against Blackburn. He has fitness issues though and always seems to be subbed off after about 60-65mins.

Ba has Ben Arfa breathing down his neck. I cant see HBA starting this week though. Ba looked impressive against Blackburn, he could be one of those hot and cold type players but again he is well priced and could do well.

cheers...If Ba can replicate his WEst Ham form he is just one of these differentials who can score massive from time to time.

Its just the rotation threat that would concern me.
Best, Ba, Marveaux, Ameobi and Ben Arfa could all be fighting over two places.

I imagine Marveaux poses more of a threat to Jonas and Obertan, but he has been used behind the striker when off the bench.

Yess Roooney! Knee is suitably still for a change. Still have got problems though weak defence, Hoolahan and injury doubt to Walcott

    Vorm (Krul)
Saylor Ward Bos (Naylor De Laet)
    Silva Dyer Walcott Mata (Hoolahan)
    RVP Roon Best

    one sub 1.7m in bank

    So its either
    A) Boost my defence (e.g. DeLaet to Hutton)
    B) Walcott to Nani/Young
    C) Hoolahan to somebody who isn't shit fpl wise
    D) Combination of these and take my first hit

    Opinions please

Well now the 4 point hit for Rooney, Walcott and Dzeko to Aguero, Nani and Adebayor doesn't look so good anymore. Was adviced to wait but didn't want to lose any more money so went ahead and did it.

Nah stuck in Ireland, not really had the spare cash to go over for a match yet. Hope to in the new year.

Odemwingie has just looked poor when I've seen him, quite different to last season. A little like Shola at times 😉

I'm getting Bannan because I was impressed with him against us, and he did well the next week too. Plus he is only 5m so not much risk there.

I accept the sideways thing to a degree...but Wigan's fixtures are permanently brilliant and still their players do nothing!

          But no, nothing pressing IMO.

Possibly, but dyer scored very few last year and Stoke are good at the back normally....Wolves are rocking and I assume we play slightly counter attacking so Obertan will be involved, he has been playing better of late and think will do OK....
