Juan Mata’s assist gave us the merest whiff of a win in Gameweek 6, but with the Spaniard failing to add to his goal tally in the 4-1 win over Swansea, we took the loss on the chin and moved on.

We fancy our chances of bettering Paddy Power this time around though – with nailed-on Fantasy forces Nani and Sergio Aguero in the mix, along with some leftfield options from Scott Sinclair and John Arne Riise, plus a tempting little accumulator on the big scoring strikers. Paddy has set up some individual markets around this week’s top Fantasy picks, let’s see what kind of hand they’ve dealt us.

Nani is just irresistible right now and, even though Wayne Rooney will likely be on the pitch while the Norwich rabbit wanders into the Old Traffford headlights, we still fancy the Portuguese trickster to take centre stage. Understandably, his regular goal odds are short but, Paddy are happy to tempt us with some longer odds for some Fantasy combos – you can get 5/1 on Nani earning a goal and an assist, with the same price available for a goal from outside the box. While they’re very decent offers, we’ll take the shorter odds of 4/1 on a Nani goal and United clean sheet double act – we’ll gladly stake Β£3 of our tenner on that one.

While Rooney has been attending early fittings of the golden boot – Sergio Aguero also fancies trying it on for size. The Argentinian is just a single goal behind the United man in the race for leading scorer and, with a trip to Ewood Park beckoning, he’s got to fancy his chances. Again the odds on Ageuro being on the scoresheet are understandably short, but Paddy has cooked up some alternatives to your straight first or anytime goal bets. You can get 9/2 on two or more Aguero goals, but we prefer the 6/1 odds on a goal in each half – throwing a couple of quid Paddy’s way on that.

Scott Sinclair brought us our first Flutter win of the season a few Gameweeks back so he’s a player we hold close to our hearts around these parts. With Stoke at the Liberty Stadium this weekend, we’ve revisited our favourite Chelsea reject to get prices on further goal exploits. While Paddy is offering 21/10 on an anytime goal, with 11/2 to score a free-kick of penalty, we particularly like the odds of 9/1 on a Sinclair assist coupled with a Swansea clean sheet. A bit of a punt, but we have faith in Sinclair as our lucky charm.

Fulham’s John Arne Riise is our final single player market and, while he’s let us down in the Flutter before now, we’re willing to give him another chance to bring in some profit as Fulham face QPR at the Cottage. Again, we could go for the shorter odds here with Paddy pushing 12/5 on a Fulham clean sheet and Riise to avoid a booking. There’s also 7/2 on a Riise assist, but we’re going to go with the healthy odds of 14/1 on Riise to score from outside the box. He who dares.

To round things up and to soak up our final couple of quid, we’ve got our usual accumulator bet. This gameweek we’re putting our eggs firmly in the basket marked β€œHeavy Hitters” – backing one or more goals for Aguero, Luis Suarez and Robin Van Persie. Paddy have priced this market at 14/1 – worth a shout with all three strikers carrying form into their respective matches.

Derby hero Money Back Special!

Paddy have focused on this weekend’s derby matches for not just one, but three, money back specials.

In the Everton vs Liverpool clash at Goodison, if Luis Suarez OR Marouane Fellaini score the last goal, Paddy will refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

Similarly, in the West London derby at the Cottage, should DJ Campbell or Bobby Zamora score the last goal, Paddy will give you your money back on all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

Finally, at White Hart Lane, if Emmanuel Adebayor scores, Paddy Power will again refund all losing 1st /last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match. That’s got to be worth a sniff.

Register and Bet Β£10 And Get Β£20 Free

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free Β£20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

I'm thinking Aguero is looking like an even better prosepect for Captain after looking at Blackburns injury crisis in defense.

Ollsen and Nelson are definitely out whilst there are doubts over the fitness of Dann, Salgado and Givet. Plus in midfield Dunn, Goodwillie and Pederson are also struggling.

When you also consider Blackburns terrible defensive record so far it's looking very good for Aguero and co

Keep the faith Mr Smith. Any corner/fk taker is a keeper in my eyes, and to think you're throwing out Chelsea's dead ball specialist...my my! Another bonus is that he's technically counted as a mid but plays LW, or in the last game CF!!! Besides Tim Cahill, I can think of nobody else who plays as an out of position striker. Mata's far and above the best mid you can get

Don't worry, I'm in the same position mate.

Tempted to wildcard him out of my team for Nani tonight, but Nani really too expensive now. I have Rooney and Aguero so not sure it's worth compromising the rest of my team to get in both Silva and Nani and then fill the rest of the positions up with crappy players?

I alsol think the Nani bubble may burst somewhat with Valencia back so I may well keep Mata, get Silva (who is more likely to start more games than Nani) and strengthen my MF with other cheaper players who will get regular returns.

              Yes I am.

Prices are rising too much for me. The budget was hard enough at the start of the season, but now its just plain ridiculous.

I sold Silva in the great WC fiasco of GW2, which although it hasn't stopped me being top in my works league, was an expensive mistake that will cost me another £0.5m to put right!

Nani at £10m was a push to get into my WC team but at £10.2m it means more compromises. I dread to think what those players values could be like by GW11 when the next week break comes.

Basically, I'm hitting that WC button this afternoon as soon as I can!

I assume Adebayor, Aguero, Rooney, Nani, Silva not sure who the 6th is though?

My team has been living off handing Rooney the armband every week and watching him make up for the rest of my team. Bosingwa also been a rock for me.

I need to rid myself of some crappy players like Moses, Surman, Brown and Arteta's too expensive for what he brings to the table.

Also Given can get dg'ded to Al Habsi, as most weeks he's on my bench anyway cos Vorm starts. May even just get Ruddy and play Vorm virtually every gw.

So, yes, in my case the WC is overdue.

But the Super 6 hasn't really helped you out though, has it? You have all of them but, with respect, your weak everywhere else and its reflected in your overall score and rank.

Except from the spelling it looks good to me. Anelka is obviously a big risk but could pay off nicely.

Swansea re at home to Stoke who played Thursday night and Newcatle are away to Wolves. Put Vorm in goal and consider swapping the Taylor's though I'd be tempted to spread the risk and have one Swansea and one Newcastle

Decided to go with VdV as captain over Rooney for the reason that at only 3% ownership, this is a chance to score big with a differential. If Roon tears it up, at least I have him in my team.

I think this rumour has come from Young looking a bit tired/poor against Stoke. Since then he's played and scored against Basle in the champions league.

It's a baseless rumour. It's more likely he'll play than not against Norwich at home who will undoubtedly park the bus.
