This weekend’s major team news is all about the strikers. After being considered doubts earlier in the week, Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez have both been passed fit to play by Sir Alex Ferguson for the home clash with Norwich. The pair should get the nod, although Danny Welbeck may feel somewhat aggrieved to miss out after his midweek Champions League brace. Johnny Evans could also return for the side in defence, but Chris Smalling will miss out.

With Fernando Torres suspended, Andre Villas Boas must decide on a new forward line as Chelsea travel to Bolton. Juan Mata’s place in the side looks nailed on, whilst Daniel Sturridge is fit and raring to go. This could mean that one of Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka will find themselves on the bench. Over at the Emirates, Arsenal are sweating on the fitness of wingers Theo Walcott and Gervinho as they gear up to take on rivals Spurs.

It’s been a busy week news-wise for Roberto Mancini’s forwards. Carlos Tevez is now infamously suspended and Edin Dzeko has made peace with his boss. The manager will have to decide whether to stick with Dzeko or recall Mario Balotelli for the trip to Blackburn. Steven Fletcher is back for Wolves as Mick McCarthy reverts back to a 4-4-2 for their visit of Newcastle. Tim Cahill will face a late fitness test before the first Merseyside derby of the new season.

All of your latest injury reports and predicted lineups are, as ever, available on the constantly evolving Team News page. Keep checking our Tweets as breaking news comes in.

Doosra? Did you say to keep Yaya or get rid for a 4pt hit? My question was badly worded earlier.

i held on to rooney too. was gonna captain aguero, but now i'm thinking rooney...he could be subbed early to avoid a re-occurrence...but his potential is too much to ignore

As someone who has only played PES on the PSP, can you please tell me why someone would purchase PES over FIFA?

I mean the first 2 things that I noticed when I first played PES last year was that they dont have 2/3 of the players licensed that FIFA does and the shooting and overall controls were just horrible, so whats the appeal??

This is how I have my men set up (already done Dzeko to Ade earlier in the week):

    Vorm,
    Brown, Boswinga, RJ,
    Silva(v), Young, Arteta, Dyer,
    Rooney(c), Adebayor, Suarez
    (R Taylor, Moses, Enrique)
I have one free transfer left and 0.3m in the bank - what do you think? Tempted by Young to Nani, but know if I do that Young will get another +20 points - any thoughts welcome. Thanks

silva will be consistently getting between 4-10 most weeks. Ade will have a two or three double digits...but mostly 2-4 weeks.

Mata is unknown at the moment...

At the moment you HAVE to choose Silva.
Adebayor is a very good pick still at his price.
Mata is as Jonty said, unknown, I have no doubt he will be up with the top midfielders come seasons end, however you gotta pick Silva first

dzeko to ade is good.....wouldn't wildcard with that tho.

I'd be tempted to keep and then do two frees after the int break...could get may RVP in then by swapping dzeko and baines for RVP and a cheap defender.

      That's what I'd do.

    Ramires, Ramsey or Murphy?

I'm thinking Ramsey because of Scout article earlier in teh week and he's cheaper than Ramires (will need cash if going to end up with 2 expensive forwards -currently Long, Suarez, Rooney, but would like RVP or Aguero in there alongside Rooney)

Does anyone else out there have team that lacks any of Rooney, Aguero or van Persie? I don't have any of them and haven't all year. I'm sinking like a stone and basically betting my season that the next tier of strikers is emerging and that my strong midfield and differentials will work.

I'm a fool, and I'm sticking to it for one more week. After the int'l break, it's probably wildcard time.

I've got all three as of this week. I'd be really worried not to have at least two of them tbh.

Depends though how you use the money elsewhere, I just think the strikers seem to be a bit more reliable this year, and there is some decent value elsewhere too.

Agree, and that's where I'm struggling to adapt. I think the old rules were to get nailed-on players who attract bonus. This year, it's goal-scorers, goal-scorers, goal-scorers. I think that kind of sucks, because it removes a lot of the subtleties of the game and the guys who are atop my mini-league know nothing about the game, other than who scores goals.

I haven't seen another team without all of them to be honest.
There just arent enough 'performers' this season to have none of them
When a big player (like Roon or Aguero) is on form, I just put him in and worry about the rest of my team

Considering him for SWP before his nasty fixtures to spend cash elsewhere, then Dyer will become a more useful rotator 🙂

    Sessegnon + Graham --> Dyer + Sturridge

    Is this a good move?

    @SuperZlatan
i'm doing walcott , dzeko > nani , Adebayor. Worth 4 point hit? Or just do walcott > Nani and no hit.

What do you guys think of this line-up:

    Given
    Bosinqwa S.Taylor Hutton
    Nani Silva Barton Dyer
    Rooney(C) Adebayor Aguero

    Subs: Vorm Simpson Petrov Enrique

Is there any need for changes either in Starting 11, order of subs or possible transfers?
    Cheers guys.

    De Laet & Sessegnon > N.Taylor & M.Petrov

What do we reckon? I got 2 freebies this week but zero cash in the bank. Team for this weekend would be:

    Given
    Bosingwa Taylor Kompany
    Silva SWP Sinclair Petrov
    Rooney Suarez RVP

    subs: Vorm, Simpson, Gabbidon, Moses

Sound ok? Any other suggestions for my 2 free transfers? Perhaps it's worth just doing the Sessegnon > Petrov transfer and then saving 2 transfers for after international break?
