Last night’s international round-up was typically fraught with panic for Fantasy managers. Most Premier League players survived relatively unscathed, though the prognosis on the odd one or two is still awaited. A few more days till Tuesday’s matches then we can start planning again…

France coach Laurent Blanc is sweating over the availability of Yohan Cabaye and Patrice Evra. At a post-match press conference last night, Blanc confirmed the pair have suffered ankle and thigh injuries respectively but admitted he’s uncertain as to whether they’ll be fit for Tuesday’s game with Bosnia:

It is too soon to tell. We will assess the situation tomorrow and we will likely decide on Sunday if they can play.

While Newcastle and Man United anxiously await the prognosis for both, reports suggest Cabaye is positive over the knock. French football writer Matt Spiro tweeted after the 3-0 win over Albania:

Had a chat with Cabaye after France game. Doesn’t seem to worry about ankle injury. Can’t stop saying positive things about Newcastle!

Ashley Young also gave Man United cause for concern last night. Having scored then assisted England’s two goals in Moldova, the winger was withdrawn just after an hour and subsequently held an ice pack to his knee.

Switzerland’s game with Wales saw Philippe Senderos tweak a muscle in the warm-up. The centre half has been out of favour at Fulham over the last few weeks, though, and has failed to see any game time since Gameweek four, despite Aaron Hughes’ knock.

Michael Dawson has suffered a setback in his recovery from an Achilles injury. The centre half hasn’t featured for Spurs since Gameweek three, though luckily for Harry Redknapp, Ledley King has been able to defy his own knee problems and fill in alongside Younes Kaboul for four games on the spin now. Redknapp had hoped Dawson would be back earlier than the initial two month prognosis, but the centre half revealed he’s had to slow down his rehabilitation:

I was outside running earlier in the week but the Achilles was still a little sore, so I’ve had to take a step back and concentrate on working in the gym.

Spurs received more bad news on the injury front yesterday. Tom Huddlestone has undergone surgery on his recurring ankle problem and is expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks. The midfielder hasn’t featured since last August, though the recent acquisition of Scott Parker has more than lessened the blow.

Reports suggest Nemanja Vidic is on course to fit for Man United’s match with Liverpool a week today. The Serbian has been sidelined since the opening day of the season with a calf injury but has been given permission to join up with his international squad this week. If he starts and subsequently comes through Tuesday’s game with Slovenia, Vidic looks likely to play some part in next weekend’s showdown.

Liverpool’s Glen Johnson has also penciled in the Anfield match as his comeback game. The right-back aggravated his hamstring in last month’s away loss at Stoke but speaking to liverpoolfc.tv yesterday, feels confident of being available:

I’m feeling good at the moment and I’ve been doing plenty of running. I’ve just started doing ball work outside in training so I reckon it won’t be too long now. I’m working hard and it would be nice to be back in the squad for the Man United game. Hopefully I can make the bench anyway, so fingers crossed.

Leon Osman has been talking of his new role at Everton in light of Mikel Arteta’s departure to Arsenal. In an interview with the club’s official website, he was asked if he’d taken on more responsibility since the Spaniard’s departure and Osman replied:

Most probably, yes. I have found myself playing a bit more centrally, which has been good for me and hopefully I can continue to do so. The more I can get on the ball, the better. I am sure any footballer will tell you they want to be on the ball and I like to get on it and make things happen.

Injury-jinxed Kieron Dyer faces further time on the sidelines at QPR. The midfielder lasted just six minutes of the season opener before limping out with a foot injury but has suffered a serious setback and is unlikely to be available for selection before Christmas.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Adebayor and Suarez are better options then RVP and Klasnic, and they cost the same.
You have Petrov as Bolton cover anyway.

          But RVP has? 😯
Im an Arsenal fan, and I just don't get all this hype, who cares if we have good fixtures, the fixtures we have had so far havent been hard yet we have played like crap.
RVP has scored 31 points, 13 of them coming against a useless, 10 men Bolton.
Suarez has good fixtures coming up and has outscored RVP despite having tougher fixtures so far

What do you think for this gameweek?

    Vorm
    Shawcross - S Taylor - Bosingwa
    M Petrov - Nani - Silva - Young
    Sturridge - Rooney - Dzeko

    Krul - Bannan - Ward - R Taylor

    Not sure who to captain!
Next GW, i've got 2 free transfers, so i'll probably sell Young for Ramsey and Dzeko for Aguero.

Had him from the start for the goal threat, he's a proven goalscoring defender although it hasn't paid off yet - I'll probably change to Kompany in my planned GW11 wildcard, but not too worried about that at the minute.

    Compare these 3 wildcard teams:
    (A)
    Begovic--Given

    Simpson--N taylor--Enrique--Kompany--Figueroa

    Nasri--Nani--Ramsey--Petrov--Sinclair

    Suarez--RVP--Agbonlahor

    (B)

    Begovic--Given

    Simpson--N Taylor--Enrique--Kompany--Bosingwa

    Silva--Nani--Ramsey--Petrov--Bannan

    Suarez--RVP--Sturridge

    (C)

    Begovic--Krul

    Barnett--N Taylor--Enrique--Kompany--Warnock

    Nasri--Nani--Ramsey--Petrov--Sinclair

    Suarez--RVP--Agbonlahor

Or any other suggestions to improve the above teams.

      Team B
You dont need Begovic and Given, save 0.7 or 0.8 by getting Vorm for one of them.
Enrique, Komp, Bos - perfect for entire season.
Silva and Nani - must haves
Ramsey + Petrov seem good value and good fixtures.
Bannan, I'm not so sure - big risk of being dropped i think. I prefer Tiote, Allan, Johnson as 4.5 mids as a sub, also another .4 or .5 in the bank.
This money will allow you to afford Rooney for RVP in a few weeks and maybe upgrade Taylor to Woodgate at stoke so you dont have two Swansea players in your defence.
That'd be my team anyway 🙂
      Good luck

Actually i don't want to waste my transfer on GK in coming weeks so i was looking for GKs with absolutely perfect rotation. Given and Vorm don't rotate well at all. Begovic and Krul is other option that might save me 0.4. Also i am not sure whether to keep Bosingwa. Chelsea defense always concede and he might be subject to some rotation.

So I, like many here I presume, am looking to get De Laet out asap; probably this week for me seeing as I have 2 fts and no urgent transfers to make. I've been looking around and earmarked these 4.0s as potential replacements:

    Boyata

+ Bolton can be fairly tight (as long as Bogdan doesn't play!)
    + Lovely fixtures until January
    - Rotation risk(?)

    Wilkinson

    + Good fixtures
+ Pretty much nailed on for a cleanie at home
    - Huge rotation risk

    Mcauley

+ looks like he's nailed down a starting berth
    - fixtures pretty crap
    - WBA pretty porous

    Tierney

    + nailed on
    - I'd never back Norwich to keep a cleanie

What's the consensus on here? Are there any Trotters fans that could shed light on whether Boyata is first choice?

Out of those its Tierney for me, he looks dangerous going forward.
Boyata, no way, not the way they're shipping goals and he looks dodgy himself.
Wilkinson and Mcauley will leave you in the DeLaet situation again in a few weeks, neither are nailed on so no way.
      Shorey is best at WB.
Woodgate is a better bet at stoke - i think both are worth the .5 more.

    vorm (ruddy)
hall / barnett / saylor (enrique / simpson)
lamps / mata / nani / silva (tiote)
    RVP / sturridge / best

0.7 in da bank. mannnnnnnnnnn... if only i had a wildcard :'(

very unclear about lampard these days, but if you swap around ruddy and vorm this week you have entire team at home other than nani (i might go ramsey instead of nani for next 2 weeks)

Hey guys - thinking of downgrading Young and upgrading my D. Do you'll think Ramsey is the best around the 6.5 mark?

And who's the best 6.0 defender? Am thinking either Bosingwa or Kompany, leaning towards Bosingwa...

I'd go for Kompany - Bosingwa could be a rotation risk and I think Chelsea have kept only 1 clean sheet this season.

yeah rambo is the best but i like having parker in my team instead. It doesn't make sense fpl-wise or sense in general but i don't want to get rid of him. I would go for Kompany because he is nailed on and has a better chance of cleanies. ( i have both btw)

more likely for attacking points yes, but more than balanced out by kompany's game time/clean sheets

at least with kompany, barring any injuries, you can just sit back and relax for the season

good team i think.. lack of man utd coverage is the only obvious concern. but your defence is pretty optimal. its a choice of whether you think rvp or rooney, will score more / vdv or nani/young, but you can make week to week changes if need be with your free transfer if need be.

and because of the lack of man utd its a good differential team.

Hiya lads, don’t post many RMT’s up, but im kinda stumped here.

    My current line-up is:

    Given (Ruddy)
Jones – Enrique – Simpson (De Laet, N.Taylor)
Mata – Young – Nasri – Meireles (Ferguson)
    Best – RVP – Aguero

I have 1 free transfer, and don’t mind taking a 4 pt hit.

My problem is I want to change something to the main body of the team barring subs, or am I best changing subs as the main body may be fine as it is?

I’m thinking meireles to bannan? That would give me 2.3m to spend elsewhere with another player removed.

Anyway, any thoughts? Help much much appreciated. Thanks. 🙂

Well Mark, I think there is a definite possibility for a move away from Meireles, at the moment is isnt as such worth it especially seeing though you have the well favoured Mata on ur side. A move to Bannanna Hammock is a risky and probably pointless one for this week due to the fact they have City. Maybe instead of him what about Ramsey? Arsenal has some gd fixtures where he could perspire points. Hope this is handy for you. I have no other problems with ur team... (if you could upgrade Best then I would just because I think he won't be scoring many over the next fixtures). ETCHY is going dowwnnnnn mofo.

Haha!! hell yeah ryan that etch is going down, down town lol.

Very helpful mate, i was going off the idea of bannan anyway, may stick him in a few fistures down the line if he's still producing the good i think.

Ramsey's good option, never gave him much thought really with doubling up with RVP but could pay off.

I'm kinda thinking keep best, as after tottenham his fixtures lighten up considerably and may get some goals but yeah i think if i take meireles out he'd be the one worth upgrading, was even thinking zamora, all of a sudden my plans for the transfers i made for upcoming gameweeks dont seem as appealing anymore lol.

Well, got a bad head today, drank too much last night after england game lol, so gonna go get summat to eat now, cheers for the advice man, i'll be sure to be on later 🙂
