We’re slowly waking from the slumber induced by the international break. Wiping the sleep from our eyes, it feels good to be back scanning the fixture list, decoding our season tickers to find patterns and runs that scream goals, assists and clean sheets.

Stir yourself with our view on the “Strength of Schedule” to come for the next four gameweeks and beyond.

The Strong

Arsenal

You can call it a crisis – you can even join the hordes supporting Arsene Wenger’s Emirates exit – you will, however, struggle to deny that “The Professor’s” side now face a flattering run of games right up until Gameweek 16.

A trip to Stamford Bridge in gameweek 10 is a short-term concern but, around this, the Gunners have home games with Sunderland, Stoke, West Brom, Fulham and Everton all in the next eight gameweeks. Those contests simply reek of Arsenal attacking profits, even in their current state of malaise.

Robin Van Persie should be the inevitable target – sitting on top of our Watchlist rankings, it’s difficult to argue that he is the best placed of the heavyweight strikers over the next few months in terms of potential. Around him, Aaron Ramsey’s form has seen him pick up interest, hurting Mikel Arteta’s mid-price market in the process. At the back, meanwhile, we’ve tentatively introduced Kieran Gibbs to the Watchlist reckoning, although rotation and injury will always cause concern here. Carl Jenkinson, in for the stricken Bacary Sagna, presents another option. Wojciech Szczesny is, perhaps, your most reliable solution should you wish to gamble on Arsenal defensive returns.

Tottenham

Arsenal’s North London rivals seem likely to push them every inch of the way this season and Harry Redknapp’s men are set to keep pace with an obliging run in the coming months.

Three away games in four will test Spurs’ resolve on the road and clean sheets do perhaps look unlikely. There will surely be goals though, as Emmanuel Adeabyor, Rafael Van der Vaart and, to a lesser extent, Gareth Bale, all tempt Fantasy investment. With QPR, Villa and Bolton lined up as the next three White Hart Lane clashes before gameweek 14, the prospects look good and Redknapp’s big guns will be expected to continue attracting interest and rewarding investors.

Wigan

We focused on them last time out in our Frisking and we unashamedly plug them again this week – despite meagre returns so far, the Latics now have the opportunity to prove themselves as a decent source of budget Fantasy talent.

All the talk will be of Victor Moses, of course; rapidly emerging as a cult figure, he’s replicating the Fantasy failings of Aleksandar Kolarov around these parts. Home games against Bolton, Fulham and Blackburn surely present Moses and Wigan the best opportunity to start delivering and, at just 4.9, it’s difficult to find a prospect with a stronger run of fixtures over the next six Gameweeks.

Elsewhere, we can look to Ben Watson on spot-kicks and even Franco Di Santo – a player who clearly learned plenty from Frank Lampard at Chelsea, having perfected the art of the deflected strike from distance. Expect another one or two to nestle in the corner from a wicked spin off a centre-back’s posterior in the next month.

Bolton

The fixture list has not been friendly to Owen Coyle this season and at least part of their plummet to the foot of the table can be put down to the fact that the Trotters have had a dreadful run of opponents. Coyle’s beleaguered team are heading out of this spell; they face six consecutive gameweeks against teams that should give them stronger opportunity for points and Fantasy profit.

Clean sheets remain unlikely perhaps but, nonetheless, we may see the tide of Fantasy managers selling off Gary Cahill now somewhat slowing. The England centre-back is likely to need a goal or two to boost his Fantasy reputation but that’s not beyond him and he could yet prove a canny differential in the month ahead.

Martin Petrov is undoubtedly a more realistic target – this season’s major success story down at the Reebok, Coyle have his team exploiting the Bulgarian’s talents on the flank and he should enjoy increased returns over the next six gameweeks.

Also Consider…

Swansea – Three points and a clean sheet against Stoke justified their selection in the Frisking last time out. Now they’re left with three away trips in four but with Norwich, Wolves and Bolton up next – Brendan Rodgers’ side could still pick up points and Fantasy returns.

Liverpool – United this weekend, Chelsea in gameweek 12 – it’s clear that Kenny Dalglish’s side don’t have such an easy run. In the short-term however, sandwiched between these games, Norwich and Swansea come to Anfield with a trip to West Brom in between.

The Weak

Everton

Poor old Leighton Baines remains frozen out of our thinking. There’s no doubting his quality, or his potential from set-plays, but with clean sheets looking unlikely for weeks to come, his hefty price tag looks too big a cross to bear. Trips to Chelsea and Fulham up next will surely see Tim Howard beaten on numerous occasions, potentially leaving Baines’ owners out of pocket again.

Things improve with the Gameweek 12 Goodison clash against Wolves, but four away games in the next six around that stack the odds against investment in Everton’s Fantasy assets.

Sunderland

If you believe whispers from some quarters, Steve Bruce’s job is under threat. Looking at the Gameweeks ahead, that’s a rumour that could soon become more credible.

The Black Cats go to the Emirates to face a wounded Arsenal animal next; following that, trips to Bolton and United will be daunting for Bruce for very different reasons. Lose at Bolton and the home clash with Villa in Gameweek 10 looks critical.

Fantasy investors will surely be opting out right now – Nicklas Bendtner has settled well as mid-price prospect up front but he’s ineligible at Arsenal and may have his work cut out to revive an ailing Sunderland for the gameweeks that follow.

QPR

This weekend’s Loftus Road encounter with struggling Blackburn looks vital to Neil Warnock’s campaign. Certainly, should they fail to pick up points there, Rangers will then embark on a run that is set to stretch their Premier League credentials.

Neighbours Chelsea arrive in gameweek 9, followed by a trip to Spurs and the visit of Man City. Points from those three games look very unlikely, with clean sheet and goal prospects also seemingly limited.

Fantasy managers may well be holding the likes of Shaun Wright-Phillips and Adel Taarabt going into this weekend – after that, however, we’re likely to see significant sales.

Also be wary of…

Man United – Phil Jones continues to attract investment but he and the United defence will surely be stretched by trips to Liverpool and Everton and a home clash with City in the next three. As for Wayne Rooney, he could hardly face three bigger tests of his temperament following his lashing out in Montenegro.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Dzeko, Brunt + Arteta > Sturridge, Ramsay, Nasri

    Wortha 4 point hit?

Is Dzeko likely to play this week with Aguero a doubt?

Apart from Man U next week Man City have a pretty good run of fixtures too. Chelsea also not a bad run. Already have RVP for Arsneal cover, might get Ramsay too.

Arteta to Ramsey?? WTF? Silly sideways move IMHO.
Nasri will score big every now and then but the rest of the time will return you 2's and 3's

Is Ramsay to Artetea a sideways move, Ramsay is playing more attacking role and also almost 2m cheaper.

For a free it may be an OK move to release some cash and not lose coverage, yes. Remember though that we've not seen that much of Arteta @ Arsenal yet. I just think that the chances of Ramsay scoring 4 points more than Arteta are not good enough to warrant a transfer+hit.
If it's part of 2 frees then that's a little different.

I have 2 free transfers. So would be taking a 4 point hit to do all 3 transfers. The Ramsay> Arteta part is mainly to give me extra cash for the other 2 transfers.

I hear you man, but I'm not a fan of 4 pointers. They so rarely work out and I should know, I used to be king of the 4 and 8 pointers. Last season I ended up with 75+ transfers and it kept me sub 100,000. If I'd been a little more thrifty I could have finished a lot higher.
My goal this season is to stay under 40 transfers and see where that gets me.
Why do you want Dzeko out ? He's likely to score you points this week if Aguero isn't playing and Balotelli is injured I believe.

If I had Aguero - and he's confirmed out - and a free transfer , I reckon bringing in RVP and (c) would be a good idea.

Apart from that I wouldn't bother (i.e. for a points hit or for someone else who is playing)

this will be he decision that haunts me this week. I suspect I'll go safe and do an unfit Ageuro to Suarez. Can see Rooney doing some damage at Anfield and also scoring v Man City. Yeah, this is true, but he's used to that. I was at the Arsenal Utd game last year and he was getting it in the neck the whole game. The interesting thing about the Montenegro thing though i thought was that he clearly instantly regretted it. The conspiracy theorist in me can't help think it was deliberate too as a one finger salute to the FA over swear-gate.

I agree somewhat AP, and one must also count the number of bullets he's dodged, not counting the, 'what...f&^king...what' incident, to me that falls in the category of celebration. There have been the odd number of kicks stomps and elbows he's dodged, and it has followed a build-up of frustrating/questionable challenges on him. Don't act like you didn't see him running about the field looking for blood vengeance. The players with temperament issues aren't the ones who necessary have a build up of reds and yellows anyway. Nothing wrong with Tiote's or Cattermoles temperament...well ok Cattermole is on the fence.

OK, line up so far is:

    Vorm (Krul)
    Simpson Ward Bosingwa
    Taarabt Young VDV Silva (Dyer)
    Aguero RVP Best

    Transfers I'm considering (1 free):
    Aguero > Sturridge

I could do Taarabt > Ramsey, but think it makes sense to give Taarabt his final GW before possibly shipping out for Ramsey/Bannan next week.

Any other transfers you feel would be worth a 4 point hit, assuming the Aguero > Sturridge is bound to happen due to Aguero not being risked, with City playing Valencia on Tuesday?

Granville wildcard this week - talk of him shipping Moses - would make it even sweeter if he drops in vs Bolton.

I look forward to the podcast. If Moses scores or assists in the next two games, I'll get him back in, but not before.

As the good book says : "And low Moses came down from the mountain with the 11th commandment - though shalt be this season's Kolorov."

Bet he won't drop him. He's the most realistic non-scoring-scorer to have in your line-up to enable the financing of big bill players and still be able to hold your head up.

I'm really strugling with my team now. I would like to get rvp in, but after agueros price drop, I can't do it without a hit.

Do you guys see any valid points in these ideas, all of course if aguero is confirmed out.

    a) sinclair + aguero => petrov + rvp (-4)
    b) r.taylor + aguero => n.taylor / tierney + rvp
    c) rooney => rvp, bench aguero and play dyer
    d) aguero => adebayor + get loads of cash for next week...
    e) r.taylor => shwx, bench aguero and play dyer

    my comments atm...
    a) don't want to loose siclair + I want agu back in gw10 (another hit then?)
    b) means I can't get shwx or kompany to my defence
    c) rooney out, madness?
    d) I just don't know...
    e) benching million dollar man never a good thing and what if he won't come back even in gw9 - but then again I would be happy to get shawcross

    Any toughts?

      I would do d) or e) , probably e)

      or

      f) Nothing, save the transfer

Don't take a 4 pointer to get rid of one of the best strikers in the game, who has a minor injury.

Looks like a lot of similar priced players in defence. Not convinced by R Johnson this season, Enrique is good. I'm not a woodgate fan, but concede he is first choice in stoke's prem.

Prefer Sinclair to Song. Another option is N Dyer, which frees up some to get maybe Bos in defence. Dyer will get less pts than sinclair, but is a far better fifth mid option than moses or Ferguson (of he doesn't play fame).

Like the forward line up and your choice of mid heavy hitters.

Predicting price rises is getting trickier. Although FISO is currently setting the required NTI at around +32,000, Ramsey rose overnight with an NTI of +30,757 and Leon Best with +30,883. Other players have risen with a much lower figure - Phil Jones went up on 9 October on +28,954 and a week earlier, Ramires rose with an NTI of +24,219.

    http://crackthecode.fiso.co.uk/LOG.HTML

So if you absolutely have to purchase a player early in a gameweek for price reasons, you need to think about pulling the trigger just after they pass 90% on FISO. Or preferably wait until Friday, of course.

Had a "wait and see" policy for this break - often get pushed into early transfers by the fear of losing 0.1 and I'm not sure that's a great idea. I'm sailing a steady ship right now.

I have hung onto dzeko because city not have effectively 3 strikers. It's hurt me the last two weeks but should benefit me this *crosses fingers* def the long run for me

I've been burnt before by the "oh wow, look at agbonlahor, he's brilliant" comments before. Every time I got him in he would do nothing, every time I ditched he scored.

Agree with Mark, for that price i prefer Sturridge. In fact I prefer him so much I already have him (and his shiny 15 pts from last week) in my team. Also prefer Adebayor for a little more.

Got 2 free transfers this week, already WCed but want to make some major changes too my team over the next few weeks. Current team is:

    Vorm (Ruddy)
Jagielka Mertesacker Woodgate (R.Taylor De Laet)
    Silva Arteta Mata Young (Ferguson)
    Suarez Adebayor Dzeko

Want to try and spread some of the value around abit better, thinking this week to do:
Suarez, Dzeko and Arteta > Van Persie, Sturridge and Ramsey (4 point hit)

Then over the next few weeks do:
Ferguson, Mertesacker and Young > Sinclair, Enrique and Nani

    Any thoughts?

Which 3 would you rather have out of:
    RVP, Sturridge, Adebayor and Suarez

At the moment, Adebayor is out of my plans and just hope VDV doesn't piss 'Arry off anymore and find himself benched.

Sturridge and Suarez IMO don't have any midfielders who offer enough value to 'cover' them. There's Ramires but I'm not yet convinced. Arsenal have Ramsey, but thinking of having them both as RVP offers the most consistency.
