Paul In our new series of “Monitor” Members articles, we turn our attentions to Matthew Etherington. The Stoke winger has been a mid-price Fantasy favourite for the past two seasons now but so far he’s yet to make any sort of impact, with just one assist to his name after six appearances.
Analysing both the OPTA and our own ICT stats, we dig deep in an attempt to ascertain just how and why he’s failed to produce the Fantasy returns so typical of those last couple of campaigns…

Struggling to fund it with Mata set to rise so need to do it soon if at all!

Have both aguero and adebayor, and both are doubtful now. Is it worth keeping them and hoping they start or get rid of them to ensure a points haul.

Maybe chance your arm with Sturridge for one of them. Don't see Harry risking Ade so perhaps for him. More concrete team news would help matters - Aguero dropping in price may influence your decision also.
Im getting rid. Take whatever profit you made from them and give Suarez, Sturridge, Dzeko or RVP a go.

Did have Ade and VdV, but too much uncertainty with both this weekend. Bos has been in from the start while I have options to change Sturridge if he doesn't play/deliver (with Gabby for example).

Lol you just saw the "he should be fine for city" and thought why the hell are all these guys worrying about Aguero when he should be fine.
This RVP obsession reminds me of the Torres fixation in an early gameweek. An obsession based on fixtures, with no form to back it up. I sadly fell for that one - have no intention of a repeat. If RVP does start to do well, then I'll bring him in. I'm quite willing to take the risk of being late to the party.

I know Jimski, I think they're nuts. RvP has failed to deliver a few times already when it seemed likely that he would. Rooney is much more reliable.
Seriously. I'm going to pity those Rooney-ship mutinees when he scores a hatrick and a brace the next couple of weeks...steady as she goes...not jumping on that RVP to Rooney bandwagon, although I do agree RVP is a great bet...
RVP is in a bit of form to be fair. Some club goals and Int goals. But swapping out for Rooney is big risk.
He's in quite good form and has been for the last year or so. Torres wasn't and hadn't for the last ye........
If your concern was the arsenal midfield I'd understand but still they scored 3 & 3 in the last 2 "easy" fixtures

Fit in Nasri and double up on City midfield...but match against Aston Villa isn't a walk in the park. VdV and Van Persie are going to be there short term (as far as I can foresee) as well as Sturridge, at least until Aguero and Adebayor are back to health. Thoughts?
I don't see value in doing short term moves in a wc team. You should be setting your team up for the next 10-15 weeks, bar the injuries. Depending on the next 2 gws, RVP could be a keeper as could VDV. Decent team though 🙂
Cheers 4vets....Yeah, the only thing I see changing is bringing Aguero and Adebayor back, ditching VdV for Ramsey.....the core of the team will be the same. And you're right, the Dutchmen could be keepers, depending on the form they (and their teams) show in the next couple of weeks. If anything, I'll have 3 free transfers by the time that time does come around, ready to make any necessary adjustments. I'm happy with the core of the squad until the transfer window rolls around. I have Dyer also and he will play if Ade doesn't. You must have a fully sorted team if you've not got anything else to worry about.

He might be different as a lone striker with Silva and Nasri feeding him directly.
He has way much shots and shots on target away from home. Maybe he is good when they set up away from home, but not so good when the team is trying to defend and he should unlock there defense. That means Villa will defend and they could defend quite well too

Hi Fratboy. I like your GK combo, rotates well but I wouldn't double up on Hennessey and Ward, Wolves just aren't reliable enough at the back just yet...big Mick will get them more solid sometime soon though I think.
Tierney instead of Barnett IMO.
Drop Rooney for Adebayor and upgrade Bale to Nani if you can.

I'm very happy with my Rooney to Sturridge transfer this week. To hell with all this "Form vs Fixtures" debate this season. I simply don't fancy Rooney for his next 3 fixtures.
With all my extra money, money, money I will get VdV next week, but only if he plays in the hole against Newcastle, otherwise it's hello Stevie G. for three plum fixtures doubled up with Suarez until my season defining WC after GW11.
