With the European qualifying now all but put to bed, the limelight can shine back on the domestic front and that means we’ve another opportunity to take on our friends at Paddy Power over some Fantasy fuelled markets in the “Fantasy Flutter”…

Derived from the Scout Picks, this week’s markets sport the familiar faces of David Silva, Jose Bosingwa and Victor Moses, accompanied by the much discussed “Robin Van Persie option”. Read on to find how our £10 stakes splits between them, and how much we risk on this weeks long-shot “Sleeper Special”.

Although absent from Man City’s score sheet for the last few weeks, no one could deny David Silva has been at the heart of all that is good about City this year, and will be hungry for more goals after his brace against the Scots. Silva’s creative play has earned him respect with neutrals and Fantasy managers alike, topping the midfield rankings thus far this season. Paddy post good odds on him to score at 6/4 and doubled up with an assist at 7/1, but the real value lies with an assist and not to be booked at 15/8. Making five assists in his last four and featuring only for goals in the ref’s book, this might well be the pick of the week, and easily justifies £4.

If you care to dip into the stats, a couple of Fantasy points near every week since the start of the season fails to rain glory down on Wigan’s Victor Moses. He’s got goals in him though, as he once proved at Crystal Palace, but neither he or Roberto Martinez’s side have found gear so far this campaign. If Wigan take anything away from visiting Bolton, Moses will surely play his role, making Paddy’s odds of 5/2 to score anytime worth a quid.

Jose Bosingwa will be fresh faced when Everton visit the Bridge on Saturday and Paddy have drawn up a true defenders market for Jose, not to be booked and to keep a clean-sheet at evens. Although perhaps not the wildest potential returns, Everton’s attacking threat is dulled by injury doubts hanging over Tim Cahill and Leon Osman – a restrained £2 on Bosingwa seems ample for a bit of interest then.

Robin Van Persie seems to epitomise Arsenal this season. His quality outings have earned him a goal threat level only second to that of Wayne Rooney, yet he has only managed to find the net in two of the seven games he’s taken part in. Arsenal seem to be making the incisive runs and tidy passing they’ve always done, but still languish down in fifteenth, only a point above their weekend opponents, Sunderland. With a makeshift defence lining up for the Black Cats, Arsenal will run the channels and present Van Persie plenty of opportunity. If a goal bonanza is on the cards, RVP to score in each half at 13/2 for £2 could be a risk worth taking.

Our accumulator this week is admittedly a long shot, but has all the makings of a pound well spent. Victor Moses, Adel Taarabt and Peter Odemwingie have all shone within their teams, but not quite enough to be big earners in the Fantasy terms. Paddy are offering a big 28/1 for the sleeping trio to wake up and all make their mark with goals; this claims our final £1 stake this week.

Money Back Specials!

In what Paddy describes as an Epic Money Back Special, if Luis Suarez scores against United in Saturday’s early kick-off, Paddy will refund all losing 1st /last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

They’re also offering similar specials on the matches between City and Villa, Chelsea and Everton and Newcastle and Spurs.

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

I need a defender and I'd quite like a Stoke one.

My natural urge is to go cheap (i.e. Wilkinson @4m) and squirrel away the cash for a flashy transfer some day soon, but then Woodgate is only half a million more, and if I'm going to splash the cash then Shawcross is still pretty affordable at 5.1m and will surely outscore the lot of them.

So I guess the dilemma is:

    A) Wilkinson and still having a chance to buy Rooney/Aguero one day
    or
    B) Shawcross and no Rooney. Ever*.

    What say you?

*I do still have an emergency Waynecard if it comes to it.

Just that they play Arsenal away next week, and my other defenders have bad fixtures next week too so if I had bought a Stoke defender I'd have to play a defender with an awful fixture. Therefore I made another transfer instead and will have another look at a Stoke defender in 2 weeks.

ok this is my squad peeps and I am looking down the barrel for a disappointing week........

    Ruddy

    Anton Ferdinand ShawX Bosingwa
    Brunt Silva Hunt Cabaye
    Roo Ade RVP

Subs: Krul, Wes Brown, Warnock, Ferguson

    Bank 2.3

1st question should i take a point hit to bring in a striker instead of Ade as I am using my free transfer to bring in Kompany for Wes Brown

    2nd question any advice?? :p

PS. sorry i asked question 1 in the previous page! so please dont be annoyed peeps!

I wouldn't take a hit to do that. You have subs who will play, and ade should be fit for next week. Plus spurs have decent fixtures. Stick with him.

Kompany in sounds good, no need to panic about Ade, you have plenty of firepower up front. Could do with strengthening your subs though.

Your back line does look like it needs some help, but ShawX, Bosw and Warnock will provide a decent backline after this week, so will you really need another defender? I would focus on you midfield which is very weak (much more than your front line), Ferguson and Hunt offer you nothing - one of them to Petrov or Ramsey is the move I would make

Not as bad as you think it is mate! Personally, I don't buy into having Ferguson on your team so perhaps look to upgrading him if you're searching for a worthwhile 4 point hit. Otherwise, I believe it's not too shabby!!

    Vorm (Given)

Kompany - Jose Enrique - Ward (N Taylor - Brown)

    Nani - Silva - Cabaye - Moses - Sinclair

    Aguero - Van Persie (Holt)

Just about to do Holt > Sturridge. Does anybody think it would be worth doing Aguero > Suarez for a 4 point hit? I badly need help at this stage!! 🙂

Liverpool have good fixtures coming up and as Aguero is looking highly unlikely to play you could take a punt and take Sauraz!

but would it not make more sense to wait until next week and make the transfer then, rather than losing 4 points on a game vs the best team in the league?

RVP will rise as long as he plays well tomorrow or scores, actually, only if he scores/assists, I dont think he'll rise tonight. Aguero will fall unless the yellow means he's protected. Yes, it is worth a four point hit for Aguero to RVP.

    Team is
    Kenny (Vorm)
Boswinga, R Taylor, Enrique (RJ, Brown)
    Silva, Young, Moses, Arteta (Dyer)
    Ade, Rooney, Suarez

I want RVP in for Ade and am 99% set on Young to Petrov, but wondered if Ramsey could be an option (I don't want to do Arteta to Ramsey, as feels like a sideway move), is 3 attacking Arsenal players overkill - any thoughts welcome

Ramsey hasn't exactly played very well but has managed to get a goal and assists.
If he and Arsenal pick up their form, only good things can happen. And for 6.4, he's great value!
      I'd make the switch asap.

I did. The plan is to get adebayor back quickly, or to upgrade mata for VDV if that becomes easier (and it might)

I agree that Spurs coverage is pretty important. Just not really this week, and not worth him sitting on the bench for whole knows how long.

My thoughts exactly Keith. Seems crazy to get rid of Adebayor when he has Blackburn then qpr next, especially when most will lose cash on him.

Can see Sturridge being kept quiet by a defensive Everton too.

    Comments on my team plz:

    Begovic Krul
Enrique Warnock Woodgate Berra Van Aanholt
    Silva VDV Ramsey Watson Bannan
    RVP Suarez Agbonlahor

Got defenders and goal keepers on alternate home match swaps so always got 1 keeper and 3 defenders at home. £0.7m in the bank so can make RVP into Rooney or VDV to Nani when United hit good run.
