Liverpool’s upcoming run of three very favourable fixtures affords Luis Suarez a climb in our updated Watchlist rankings.

Two goals in his last three games have seen the Uruguayan return to form, having previously drawn blanks in the previous three fixtures as the Reds were sent tumbling to defeat at Stoke and Spurs. Steven Gerrard’s return in last Saturday’s game with Man United confirmed Andy Carroll’s game time may be limited; Dirk Kuyt looks a more suitable partner for Suarez up top, making the Uruguayan the only Liverpool Fantasy-classified forward with seemingly assured starts right now.

From Gameweek 9-11 Suarez squares up to (NOR, wba, SWA) and the prospects look enticing. The Canaries have yet to chalk up a clean sheet and have conceded 3 goals at Chelsea and 2 away to Man United- Kenny Dalglish’s side will expect to grab a couple at least here.

The following game at West Brom may be trickier than it looks, though- the Baggies have conceded just one goal in their last three home games but after that, Swansea roll up to Anfield. Brendan Rodgers’ side have shipped an average of 3 goals per game on their travels and the omens look good for Suarez; he’s already scored and picked up maximum bonus points in two of his four games at Anfield this term.

While Champions League football has seen rest and rotation amongst the Manchester clubs, Liverpool’s lack of European competition suggests Suarez is virtually a guaranteed starter. With testing fixtures against Chelsea and Man City to subsequently follow, the Reds will be looking for maximum points beforehand to maintain their chase of the European places.

Suarez, at 9.5 and with 37% Fantasy ownership –the third-highest in the game at present- surely looks set to plunder the Fantasy points over those next three Gameweeks. With such a high percentage of owners, any substantial returns could see those Fantasy managers without his services suffer a tumble down the rankings as a consequence.

Keeping it on RVP this week.

Think Norwich might pull off an upset this weekend.

Get the feeling one of the newbies are going to pull off a shock soon. Norwich look best placed to do that.

    Team is linked:

I was thinking Dzeko to Sturridge. Should I also do Brunt to Ramsey/Petrov/anyone else below 7.5? I'm also looking to get rid of de Laet, but I guess that can wait...

If u have 1 FT, then Dzeko > Sturridge is the best option
Brunt seems to be finding his form, but some brutal weeks coming up..Ramsey the best mid-range alternative imo, Walters not bad either.

Defo do the transfer that you said. But i would also consider Brunt to Ramsey just due to the fact he plays further up and will be providing RVP will all the goals//scoring them himself.

People seem to forget the Norwich vs ManU match, if norwich play like they did then and be very defensive everyone behind the ball tactic. Then Liverpool may have problems scoring even though they will but maybe not as many as others think!

your rivals all might have rooney and not suarez NOW...but many of them may well do that transfer this week

you don't have kompany. i'm guessing a good % of your rivals do. if you don't have rooney and he does end up scoring, the 4 points they gain from the goal will be balanced by the 4 they will lose from kompany's score

out of your 3 rivals, one has done 2 transfers, and the other two have done one each

they are all light on both liverpool and arsenal players, so its difficult to guess which way they might have gone with their transfers out of rvp and suarez (looking at the fixtures i'm presuming these are the players they would be most likely to transfer in, esp as they dont have them)

Either way really: VDV is always an injury risk, Mata is just not up to scratch for his price.
Nani all the way in the long term stakes.

    vorm \ schwarzer

    bosingwa \ enrique \ da laet \ shawx \ bad k

    moses \ dyer \ silva \ petrov \ mata

i have 1 free and 0.6 in the bank

    anyone have any opinions on

    rooney > ade
    mata > sturridge??

it'd cost 4 points but i certainly fancy gerrard to pay that back!

I don't get it. How does getting Mata or Sturridge help Gerrard generate points for you?

i wouldn't. form over fixtures. mata is like silva - scoring consistently if not spectacularly which is the best way in FPL, otherwise you spend each week second guessing the big scorers and spending points doing it. Gerrard could be benched after coming back from injury, he might get a recurrence of injury and has no form (flukey free kick)

    Hi guys
Team is linked. Is it best to swap out de Laet for Enrique? It means I can bench Kompany for the ManU game but it does leave me short of funds to swap Sturridge out for Adebayor the week after, without a 4 point hit. Make the trade or sit tight and have two freebies next week?

I'd be more worried about the 2 QPR players and De Laet.

The only one I'd consider would be Rooney to Suare (that letter after 'y' doesn't seem to be working on this stupid keyboard obviously 😀 ) as United have two hard games coming up, but it could easily bite you right on the bum. Not overly keen on any of them.

Really don't know what to do with Simpson, Wigan at home is such a lovely fixture if he does start but cant afford to start him if he's gonna come on as a sub.

Other options are three to start from Richards, Tiote, Hughes, N.Taylor and Simpson. No transfers and refuse to take a hit. Struggling to decide which two to start.

    Any advice?

Its not very often a manager puts on a right back, so I wouldnt worry about him only get 1 pts. Either he starts, or he doesnt play, is my bet.

Was thinking the same. Would be harsh if he played no part though. Might be a good thing if he starts and is subbed off fairly early aswell more chance of a clean sheet 🙂

I am about to pull the trigger on Bosingwa ➡ JEnrique

    The reasoning:
    - JEnrique season keeper so get before price rise again
    - Bosingwa might be left out soon
    - Chelsea does not seem able to get many clean sheets with him on the pitch/AVB at the helm
    - i pocket 0.4 and get 0.7 more to spend (i.e. JEnrique-Shawcross instead of Bosingwa-Brown)

Kosher? Might even take the hit to get Shawcross

once i was given an advice to always delete your last sentence after writing something with substance. i guess this is one of the reasons -- you failed to address the point at hand!

i agree though - not a good move

I don't think it applies to just the last sentence. The mind is drawn to any piece of insane reasoning in any article and it renders the rest of it useless...;)

But Bos to JE? Nothing wrong with that, particularly if financial gain is important. JE will rise some more whereas Bos is close to his peak. Not sure how many games Bos will be rested but if you want the funds to upgrade Brown this is as good a way as any to do it.

thinking about it myself but bosingwa should be able to get a clean sheet at QPR. I think Norwich are more likely to sneak a goal at Anfield than QPR are to score at home. And I say that as a dissatisfied Barton owner.....

hmm... nah, i think its about 50-50 in those cleanies..
so since he rise tonight, i dont think it is worth 0.1 to have one last night with bosingwa, if you catch my drift

Agbonlahor has overachieved so far this season by quite some way and Suarez could have racked up a few more points by now. By no means is Suarez essential, especially if you have RVP as RVP is a great captain option this week as well as Suarez but I think Suarez is one of the few excellent value players under 10m.

i have RVP (and of course, as captain) and suarez was in my plans, but as you say agbonlahor has been in some pretty great form and im not a fan of west brom away (and both teams have norwich away in next 3). starting to think about gerrard for liverpool coverage instead of suarez. suarez IS good value, but agbonlahor isn't bad value at 7.2 either

        still mulling it over though!

Who is the best midfielder under 5.5? Going to do Balotelli -> Suarez, but need to downgrade Brunt to someone 5.5 or less to get extra funds. I'm using my wc by gameweek 11 so need that cheapy midfielder for gameweeks 9 and 10.
