Just like the Dutch duo of Van der Vaart and Van Persie, Mark and I keep on delivering, week in week out. With over 60 episodes under our belts, we’ve almost got the hang of it, the banter now nearing the levels of Compo, Foggy and Clegg. Another 300 episodes should crack it.

Like our Sunday night sitcom anti heroes, we once again we deliver the regular formula. A mini-league round-up, a miffed from me, the “all aboard” sift through the bandwagons all leading into our weekend preview. Then we both roll down a hill in a bath tub.

It’s all here. Apart from the last bit about the bath tub.

i was like this before, thinking as a differential, i also have torres who i unfortunately captained last week, thankfully RVP and VDV pulled me out of it along with few others.

You have to cap RVP to be honest, i am doing, if he does well it leaves you even further behind. RVP is the man responsible for pulling me back into all mini leagues and overall generally, and i wouldnt even put it past him to score 4 or 5 against west brom, im that confident in him. Got to do it 🙂

I have Silva, Nani, VDV, RVP, and Sturridge. Aguero? Hernandez? Stick with Roopig?

I'm in a similar position (I have Given and Collins). At this stage I'm favouring Westwood (rotates reasonably well with Ruddy) and Jagielka (good fixtures).

That would also leave you with a bit of spare change (maybe upgrade Moses the following week?)

Westwood is tempting as like you say, he rotates well with Ruddy and raises extra funds for the rest of the team. I'm swaying towards Westwood and BAE - slightly cheaper than Jags and playing for a better team. You considered him?

BAE is an option - but I have VDV already (like you) and personally I'm happy with that as my Tottenham coverage. By contrast I dont have any Everton players at the moment and their fixtures are very strong all the way up to GW23. At the end of the day they're both decent options - and should do better than Collins - so it's a judgement call I guess. Good luck!

Graham is on form too, he's one of those players who I want in my team but I can't make room for.

But with the form of the forwards this season, surely you shouldn't have room for someone like Graham in your team?

+1 Graham is on form and Swansea creates more than QPR imo.

Anti-Ipswich, while we got you here, who would you suggest getting between Tierney and Barnett? Looking to finally swap out De Laet but I have no clue who is getting forward more etc from your fullbacks.

Definitely go for Tierney. He pushes up more and is working well with Pilkington this year on the left flank. However, Barnett isn't a bad shout because he goes up for our corners and set pieces and, for memory, 6 or 7 of our 14 goals have come from a dead ball situation. It's 50-50, but I'd lean towards Tierney. If you go for Tierney, you'd get assists more often. But Barnett has a greater chance to score.

In saying that, I wouldn't want any Norwich defenders with our upcoming fixtures

Thanks for the info. I need to replace De Leat and get someone in the 4m price range just to rotate. Still leaning towards Norwich def because I feel that they go up the pitch alot more compared to the other 4m-ers.

Well I've got RVP and Rooney who'll be there all season. My 3rd strike slot has changed alot this season. I've had Aguero (traded him out before injury and loss of form), Adebayor (same as Aguero) and Zamora who hasn't proved to be a worthwhile trade.

I think Rooney isn't as essential as he used to be. I'm not sure about the idea of him playing midfield and what's the point of having one of the most expensive strikers in the game when he isn't even playing as striker? I guess you could just jump ship to Aguero if it doesn't work out.

I'm playing 3 up forward every week. RVP, Adebayor and Agbonlahor. Don't think I'll be getting rid of Aggie or Ade any time soon either, so that's why I'm not getting Graham, Ba etc

I like P Jones. I think he'll have a good run. Villa aren't doing anything that exciting defensively. Looks good for next week.

And nice attack, by the way. That's a good looking front 7.

Cheers. Yeah, I've been buliding it slowly. Wildcard still in tact too - had planned to use it next week, but reckon i'll hold off a bit longer now...

You think P Jones is nailed on every week? Slight concern that when all the MUN defenders are back he could get rotated with Smalling, Rio, Evans and Rafael.

I do. I have a very hodgepodge justification for why I think that -- gleaned from bits and pieces here and there, but I think he'll play quite consistently. Few surprises.

Same here. The above leaves me with a tricky sub choice next week though - which 2 would you bench from this lot? Would also have Westwood (WIG)

Jones (swa), Woodgate (QPR), Wilkinson (QPR), Brown (FUL), Moses (BLA)

Just got PJones in for Boyata. Have been looking at that transfer all week. Feels good. Hope Ferguson keeps faith in him, like an improved O'Shea except he gets to play.

what am I saying? wishing United players to develop well.... this game is messing with my head

of course I mean that given him being a sound FPL acquisition, I will endure the pain it is to feel good about a positive United performance..

Yes wash your mouth out 🙂

Jones has been lucky that injuries have given more playing time. Plus the fact the old drunk has put the donkey Ferdinand out to pasture means he will play a lot his season. I'm bringing him in for Bos soon

I'm considering Given & Dunne -> Westwood & Evans next week. I think Evans should start every game and he's great pick with Utd fixtures.

I was looking at Evans. But to be honest I would rather play Jones or Smalling, any day, was I manager. So I am not sure he will be a regular. After all, he is awful at the moment.

Evans is like the illegitimate child of the United defense. Sure he will be in all the pictures but no one except his Dad, Fergie, wants him there.

Been looking at team data for goal threat.

    Top 3 for goals:
    1 MCI
    2 MUN
    3 CHE

    Goal Attempts
    1. MCI (166)
    2. CHE (135)
    3. LIV (132)

    On target
    1 MCI (79)
    2 CHE (65)
    3 TOT (62)

    Goal conversion
    1 MUN (23)
    2 MCI (21)
    3 CHE (17)

    Conclusions:

MCI investment in attack seems vital particularly Aguero, the most likely starter
Suarez has had the most goal attempts in the last 4 weeks (22) with 10 on target.
RVP has had 13 attempts with 9 on target. Quality.
CHS feature in each top three – should Sturridge be your third striker?
    Any other observations?

I wouldn't have Sturridge though... prefer Adey if affordable

Mata and Lampard on the other hand... IMO it's good to have one of these dudes in the midfield

        Last 4 weeks:

        Adebayor: Goals=0 Attempts=9 On target=3

        Sturridge: Goals=3 Attempts=8 On target=3

        Minutes played: Ade=355; Sturridge=278.

Not only is Sturridge cheaper, he is much more productive in front of goal.

Wow ok, I thought Adey would have more?

Points per game they are similar, I see your point thought Sturridge is cheaper.

          Adey 6.0 ppg
          Sturridge 5.8 ppg

Long term I wouls still go for Adey haha, I think it is more difficult for Sturridge to get bonus points with Lampard, Drogba, Torres, Terry and Mata in the tea. Adey just has to compete with VDV and sometimes Bale and Modoric. maybe I am closing my mind to the Sturridge idea.

That ppg data is misleading. It includes all games even if the player only played 10 minutes. Sturridge has had less game time and suffers in the ppg data as a result.

Spurs are testing opposition keepers with their accuracy, so Spurs attacking coverage is a must.

I almost cried when I watched highlights of Spurs v QPR game. DVD should have had a hat trick - and I had him as captain!

      Interesting...

I've considered Sturridge long and hard. One of the best value players in the game, but fixtures and some (albeit small) rotation risk makes it hard to drop RVP, Aguero or Adebayor at the moment. If Adebayor doesn't pick up by GW18 (when CHE fixtures ease up), then Sturridge probably comes in then.

Also, Aguero -> Suarez in GW15 is on my to do list...

Yeah, that's a pretty impressive conversion rate by Sturridge!

I just feel Ade is Spurs' nailed on front man, and he will come good. Why can't we go 3-3-4!!

      RVP, Aguero, Suarez.

That would be a tasty front line. I"m considering it, and you've definitely pushed me in that direction. Thanks for the stats.

Good night/morning lads! So I've finally made my transfers for the week but i'm stuck on which way to set-up. I'm currently thinking of playing 4 at the back with this line-up:

    GK: Krul

DEF: Evans - Bosingwa - Enrique - Hutton

MID: Silva - VDV - Nani (vc)

    FWD: RVP(C) - Ba - Adebayor

BENCH: Vorm - Drenthe - Sinclair - Tierney

Have I got it right? Should I play Drenthe over any of my defenders? Though I'm playing Krul so wouldn't make sense to play him I suppose heh.
