In this latest Members article, we investigate the low-to-mid price striker market, examining those forwards available for 7.5 or less in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. We put creativity and assists to one side, focusing solely on goal threat to examine shots per minute and shots on target per minute data, comparing the popular budget strikers to the performance of the heavy-hitters – Robin Van Persie, Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero.

The article helps to identify the prime long-term targets within the sub 7.5 price bracket and those who perhaps represent a sound short-term punt in the coming weeks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Thanks to everyone who commented on my Last Man Standing conundrum earlier, particularly DUFFMAN91, who gets bonus points for choosing Swansea last week. It was pretty evenly split between Wolves (6 votes) and Newcastle (5) but am leaning towards Newcastle as I probably won't get the chance to use them again soon.

For those who asked, the full list of teams I have left is New, WBrom, Nor, Bla, Sun, QPR, Wol, Wig, Bol, Ful.

Wolves for me this week, particularly if Diame is out for Wigan. Everton are the kind of team that can go to Newcastle and get a result.

Wolves seem to have the easier fixture but Wigan have beaten them 4/5 times. Everton are finding it hard to score while Newcastle's defence is fairly solid and Ba is good for a goal.

      Bosingwa out 100%.
No reason why jones wont start. Utd only have 6 fit defenders, and jones' only competition to RB is rafael, who is prob only fit enough for the bench.

Do your own research if you're not paying for it ... Demba Ba, Bendtner & D Graham all good, budget options but wouldn't go for Ba at the moment, given his fixtures.

Part of me wants Evans, but I'm not convinced he'll keep starting.

United's best back four is - Jones, Smalling, Vidic, Evra

And yes, Smalling is injured, so Evans will play as such, but even then, Ferdinand could play.

PLUS when Rafael comes back, he could play at RB, and that means that there could in theory be one slot between Jones, Smalling (when fit again), Evans and Ferdinand.

On the other hand, he could carry on playing every week and at 4.5 with those fixtures that is hard to ignore.

    Thoughts?

I've two free transfers but thinking of using one and having the 2 for next week! gonna play the wildcard in 2 game weeks because I've dug my self into a hole with my crap defence and surman! If you make that transfer your team just becomes unfair, you're not allowed to! 🙁

Save it for a double transfer in the international break.

Thanks FB I have a one point lead in my mini league I did Aguero>RVP earlier in the week, but started to think maybe I should of shifted Rooney instead. Im praying he plays up front at Sunderland. Good luck this game week.

you too, Rooney has little chance of starting up front this particular weekend to be honest, but I think he'll play a much more attacking role than the past 2 games. (including CL).

RVP and Rooney are both gonna go huge this weekend 😉

i am concerned about him I have Kompany on the bench could swap him to Jones, but its gonna be a 4 point hit. Pointless right? Next week I was gonna upgrade DeLaet to Evans once I free up cash elsewhere.

Personally wouldn't go for Evans because it's a transfer waiting to happen ... unless you are planning on wc soon. That said, he could easily start and bag 6 again this week.

Evans will play I think, but with midfield depleted Jones is a better bet as he can be played in both, but you know that!

I was considering Evans IN for Shawcross myself, but was never going to play Shawcross this week and might see how he does with International break upcoming. Evans is good for every 2 out of 3 games I would say, that will move to 2 out of 4 when Smalling comes back though. Rafael is due back soon, so that means Smalling/Evans/Jones/Ferdinand/Fabio all playing for two positions in defense with Evra and Vidic locking down the other two.

It's a decent fixture for him to return. Don't fancy Dyer or Naylor (my only other option with Kompany suspended) to get much at Anfield

Fratboy cheers for the input early. Good advice from you and mac re Rooney being left out of the England squad next week.

Just checked and Argentina have 2 games next week so Rooney -> Aguero could backfire if he's rested for the Newcastle game and Rooney is fresh for Swansea away. I am sticking with Rooney.

    Guys

Can you please help me make a quick decision?!

    This is my current team:

    Given

    Ward, Richards, Simpson

    Silva, VDV, Moses, Petrov

    RVP, Rooney, Adebayor

    (Vorm, Kompany, Gabbidon, Dyer)

I have one free transfer and 0.2m in the bank.

I was thinking of doing Kompany to Jones.

But then i am unsure who to bench if i make that transfer?

    Opinions please please please!!!!

I want to swap out de Laet and have a max. of 4.2 to spend. I already have Simpson (Newcastle).

Any point buying Wilkinson (Stoke). Or is he just in the team until Danny Higginbottom comes back from injury?
