Our rundown of yesterday’s three fixtures sees plenty of mid-price midfield options stand out amongst others. Jamie O’Hara leads Wolves to a vital win despite the efforts of Ali Al-Habsi, Stoke endure a Euro hangover thanks to Chris Eagles and Ivan Klasnic, while Gareth Bale hints at a new-found consistency with another double figure return.

Jamie O’Hara
A goal, two assists and 3 bonus points helped the Wolves midfielder to a 15 point Fantasy haul this weekend. The recent Carling Cup tie with Man City inclusive, O’Hara has now scored in the last three home games in a row for Mick McCarthy’s side. With Steven Fletcher injured, Big Mick has been playing a 4-5-1 and has moved O’Hara into a more advanced position, with the former Tottenham player tucking in just behind Kevin Doyle- yesterday it paid dividend and may give McCarthy food for thought when Fletcher returns to action.

Stephen Ward
The Wolves left-back grabbed his second goal of the season yesterday, netting for the first time since the opener at Blackburn. An ever-present in the Wolves side, Ward is second only to John Terry when it comes to goalscoring defenders and is the best “value” outfield player of any at the Midlands club, returning 41 points to date from a price of 4.6.

Ben Watson
While Victor Moses and Hugo Rodallega conspire to miss chance after chance for the Latics, Watson continues to be their main source of attacking points. With 2 goals and 2 assists to his name, the midfielder has played a part in 4 of the 7 goals his side have scored this season. His spot-kick duties undoubtedly help, though Watson was rather fortunate to slot home a rebound after Wayne Hennessey had saved his initial effort.

Ali Al-Habsi
Though his heroics between the sticks failed to prevent Wigan from slipping to their eighth straight defeat, Al Habsi is still, nevertheless, picking up the Fantasy points. His 7 saves at Molineux was indicative of his performances and with 45 points on the board, despite no clean sheets since gameweek three, is joint-second top goalkeeper so far- only Michel Vorm has returned more.

Gareth Bale
So often a source of frustration for Fantasy managers, Bale’s goal, assist and maximum bonus points in the 3-1 win at Fulham is the third time in six matches he has returned double figure hauls. The Welshman has been upping his game of late but mainly due to the performances of Rafael Van der Vaart, has been cruising along nicely without hogging the headlines. Bale has now bagged 4 goals this season, just 2 less than Van der Vaart and has returned only 12 points less overall. With Spurs still facing a favourable run of fixtures, he could be in for plenty investment over the next few weeks- already he has been transferred in by over 24,000 Fantasy managers ahead of gameweek twelve, more than any midfielder.

Aaron Lennon
Having been out of action for a couple of months with a groin problem, Lennon returned in gameweek nine and has stepped up in the last couple of matches. Yesterday’s 12 point Fantasy haul at the Cottage means Lennon has grabbed a goal, 3 assists and 3 bonus points in his last two games, outscoring Rafael Van der Vaart by 21 to 12. He could prove to be a decent differential over the next few gameweeks- owned by just 1.6% of Fantasy managers and priced at 7.2, he’s looking nailed-on form a right wing spot in an on-song Tottenham team.

Ivan Klasnic
A return to the Bolton starting lineup saw Klasnic serve a reminder of his early-season potential. His brace in yesterday’s 5-0 romp over Stoke means he has returned 5 goals and 3 assists from the six games he has started for the Trotters, netting against the likes of Man City and Liverpool, and surely secures his place in the first XI ahead of a trip to West Brom in gameweek twelve. With home showdowns against Everton and Aston Villa to follow, albeit with a visit to Spurs sandwiched in between, Klasnic is not too bad a punt at just 5.8.

David Wheater
The centre-half seems to have established himself at the expense of Zat Knight in the Bolton back line in recent weeks. At just 4.4, Wheater- one of our featured defenders in the “Building a Budget Defence” Members article- grabbed an assist, clean sheet and single bonus point against Stoke yesterday. Wheater has returned 13 Fantasy points in his last four starts now- compare this to 5.3 Gary Cahill, who has returned the same tally over his last ten starts.

Chris Eagles
With Martin Petrov another Bolton player who has seemingly fallen from favour, Eagles is stepping up as the main midfield source of points for Owen Coyle’s side. His 2 goals, clean sheet and 2 bonus points led to 15 points against Stoke- this was his second double figure haul in the last four gameweeks- indeed, Eagles has returned 35 points over those four weeks, with the likes of David Silva picking up 26 points over the same period. Whenever Bolton have won a game, Eagles has played a significant part; the Trotters have recorded three victories and Eagles has scored (9, 13, 15) in each of those respective triumphs.

AHHHHH I cannot bring myself to care about the international break. Or internationals in general. I just see it as two weeks without FPL.

But if there was International Fantasy Football... well, that would be a different matter....

Think I'm going to hang on for the two Home games. I bought at 6.6 so i don't mind him losing 0.1.

Was thinking Sturridge to Dzeko but will probably go Suarez to Aguero once he drops.

I bought him at 6.7 so'll lose 0.1. Eugh. Need to get rid of Suarez aswell but i've lost too much value as it is so thinking Sturridge > Bendtner as i've got Mata.

Right lads, I've been taking hits more weeks than not but it's been paying off this far. I see my team as racking up loads of points but I can't hit past sixty. So annoying.

    Vorm Ruddy
Wilkinson enrique n Taylor Barnett Simpson
    Vdv Silva Ramsey sess Dyer
    RVP Rooney agüero

You may say I have a weak defense, but they returned the most points last gameweek. I have. 5 in the bank. Any suggestions? Don't want to ship out Rooney just yet.. I

Get Turner (4.3) for Barnett. Sunderland have it easy in the next 6 (Can see them keeping a few CS's )
He is an aerial threat too.

Has anybody ever experienced bad timing? Just when you gathered a strong team, even though you took a -4 points hit, big points just didn't go to you in a bucket. I've been under the 40+ radar over the last few gameweeks.

I don't think there's anything wrong with my team. Sigh. I've been losing games of late in a row in a head-to-head league.

I have Rooney, Martin Petrov and Bosingwa who I want to take out (23.9 million). Who shall i replace them with?

And shall i risk it and make the transfers now to avoid any price drops. Or shall i wait until next Wednesday.

    My team currently is:

    Vorm, Given
Kompany, Bosingwa, Shawcross, J Enrique, Simpson
Silva, Sinclair, Martin Petrov, Ramsay, Bradley Johnson
    Rooney, Van Persie, Adebayor

    Thanks

In my opinion, I'd replace Rooney with Dzeko. Dzeko's been on a good run of form again lately and he should continue to do so at that price tag. Take Petrov out and fill it with the likes of Pilkington, Allen, etc. As for Bosingwa, I'd go for Ryan Taylor. He's been amazing since the start of the season.

Have the exact 3 players that I am considering to trade out.

Keeping Rooney for the Swansea fixture I think makes sense. There is a risk he gets the midfield role, but even then no reason to panic sell. He had a good game and got 2 bonus points, and will still be a goal threat.

Petrov has to go and Bosingwa I think is a depreciating asset, especially if he sits out next one as well (and Chelsea won't keep a CS vs Liverpool imho)

How about Bosingwa to Wes Brown (or possibly Phil Jones)?

Maybe then Martin Petrov to Eagles or someone similar?

Would you recommend making the transfers now or waiting a week to assess injuries (but face price rises/falls)?

have you seen newcastle's fixtures. If anything you should get rid of all newcastle players. However if your willing to take a gamble, go for it, but it might not work out.

Can't see why you would worry about them unless you're on a wild card. All their players are cheap enough to bench. And form is great.

    Hello all

How did Bale get the goal awarded given that it was going for a throw in - defo own goal?

Pretty sure Welbeck got the nod for assist on the Brown OG - strange decisions all round given the decision on RVP assist not given as well - like referees no consistency!

    Any views on my knee jurk transfer proposals below;

    Vorm (Giv)
    Richards, Woody, Jones (Boss, Taylor)
A Johnson, VDV, Walters, Drenthe (Sinclair)
    RVP, Best, Suarez

Best > Dzeko (rotation risk given Int break, looked what happened last time)

    Sinclair > Sess

Johnson > Bale (although see Johnson starting with the Int break)

Boss > Vermal (still injury risk?)

Looking at -8 point hit - speculate to accumulate?

Looking at bringing in Sess this week for a 4pt hit. Nee to downgrade suarez to get him though, who's the best option for under 8.1m?

Was thinking bendy but that gives me 3 mackem players!

    Current team:

    Given, vorm
Ward, simpson, shawx, brown, de laet
Vdv, silva, reo coker, ramsey, dyer
    Rooney, rvp, suarez

Ideally would like to downgrade given to vorm and get eagles, sess and a striker but not sure its worth a 12 pt hit

Safe option = keep Ramsey (good fixtures coming up and plenty of opportunities for assiats/goals)
Differential = Drenthe looks decent as Everton's fixtures are improving and both Sess and Walters decent short term options.
My personal preference would be to keep Ramsey.

All four are ok, you cannot make a mistake if you choose whichever from them. In this case do not speculate and choose according to your feeling. No one knows for sure if Drenthe or Walters score more points, but the difference will not be very big. Just choose someone and stick to him.

I have Walters and just brought Sess in. All talk about Ramsey as safe option, but so far it is not supported by points.

Goalies way too expensive - downgrade one and upgrade midfield, as Henry, Tiote and Fox will score low. I've always thought of Doyle as someone who puts a lot of effort in, without being prolific. Prefer Bendybus up front in that price bracket. Who is this Ronney chap? 😉
