Arsene Wenger is without full-backs Kieran Gibbs and Carl Jenkinson as his side come up against Norwich. Johan Djourou and Andre Santos look likely to get the nod in the Gunners’ backline…

Cheik Tiote has been ruled out for Newcastle’s trip to Man City, who have Sergio Aguero fit and available after the international break. Mancini’s starting lineup is anyone’s guess, though, with many of their first-team involved heavily for their nations. Luis Suarez has shaken off a back injury and should start for Liverpool. Whilst Alex Ferguson has question marks over the fitness of Danny Welbeck.

As ever, Team News will continue to be updated throughout the day so keep checking back as more reports and press conferences come through. It’s also worth keeping an eye on our Twitter feed which links directly to the source.

What are Agbonlahor owners doing? Pretty bad fixtures, slight doubt but he's been great this season! I can't decide!

He is out of my team. His away results are pretty bad and Villa will have MU, ARS, LIV at home in the 6 gameweeks.

So the Sess love seems to have gone off the boil with Drenthe the 6.0 mid of choice. Is this because of the suggestion Sess will play up front?

I've just gone with Sess, my love affairt has just started... all the better if otheres are just ending. look at his return in last three weeks, and just look at those fixtures... makes me want to drool. Sure Everton have got good games, no doubt, but not as good. Sure Drenthe has potential, but Everton have yet to convince (never do at this point in the season admittedly) and whilst they might be about to turn that corner, I fancy Sunderland to turn better. Drenthe over-hyp[ed on here- sess has got more points overall, and whilst everyone will point out drenthe hasn't played as much, Sess and his team beat Drenthe and his team in form and recent point scoring as well. Sess better investment right now, shrewder investment at least, imo.

On wildcard and my plan was Aguero for this GW then go for Rooney next gameweek

    Then

I wasnt 100% on Rooney and with City have Norwich at home in GW14 I opted for Aguero on my WC then get Rooney in GW15

    Now

With the slight doubt over Aguero I have the option of just go with Rooney and hope he hits form. Go with Dzeko for this GW ( he may rise another 0.1 and get me 0.1 profit) then get Rooney next week?

This also has a detremental affect on my big hitting defender if i go for Rooney now I can only afford Verminator not Vidic.

    Any advice?

I would go for Dzeko then upgrade to Rooney next week with my free transfer if I was on my WC.

Vidic too expensive anyway imo - Evra a better defender to have in. Vermaelen could easily bag 2 goals in the next 5

I decided to play my wildcard last night and I was thinking the same but Rooney has the potential to do well this week, the wilcard is a differential so if you stick with Rooney against Swansea you should benefit. If he does well, you will just be thinking what if and could be saving the transfer elsewhere.

Rooney also has had a two week break where Dzeko played 180 mins and Aguero has been travelling too. I could be wrong but I think you'll regret not having Rooney more if you were thinking about him and he does well this week. Plus if he does have a stormer most will be doing Aguero to Rooney next week.

              How your wildcard team looking?

Not sure how I feel about Man City's forwards right now but I would say to disregard the possible 0.1 profit, it's not a good enough reason to make a transfer. I'm trying to see profits as just an extra reward for picking the players who perform.

I have the same dilemna, think i'm going to get Rooney in for Aguero now because even Dzeko's not nailed on as Mancini could play Balotelli as a lone striker. Also Rooney is worth the risk because of his upcoming fixtures.

If you are only going to have Aguero for one week and are intent on Rooney next week, just get Rooney now, rather than booking in next week's transfer. Something else will become a priority and you'll still want Rooney and I bet you end up asking if it's worth taking a 4pt hit.

Well, the thing is that Dzeko is not a 100% starter this weekend. Sure, he probably will start, but you never know.. I'd personally go for Aguero until Rooney eventually moves back up and hits form..don't see him doing much damage at Swansea tbh.

I wouldn't spend 7.8 on Vidic.. Verminator is a slightly better option imo, but if you are to spend big I think Baines is the one for the upcoming weeks 🙂 Considering him myself atm

With the talk of Aguero maybe being tired after the argentina trip I might just leave him.

Fatigue will be a factor for all those who have played internationals over the break, but hey, guess Rooney is worth a punt now before he goes on a tear again..

Yeah I think i'll wait a couple of weeks myself, the man (Baines) certainly has something to prove 😉

KoL, I don't see Dzeko as a certai starter myself as I think he was rested after both the previous international breaks. I'm sticking with Aguero with money in the bank to upgrade to Roo if neccesary, but I don't have Silva. I'd suggest maybe going for Adebayor as a safe place holder for Rooney for a week or two if you're feeling conservative, or Aguero if you want to "role them crazy dice" (phrase trademarked).

I considered Vidic for about 2 seconds myself but I'm going with Enrique as my expensive defender for 2 m less and using Wilkinson as cover for the next 2 weeks. Simples.

When hes fit he could be a real steal...but far from certain of a start atm,,,plus our next 3 games are.....challenging

    VDV, Ramsey, Silva, Nani (Ferguson)
    Agbon, RVP, Adebayor
Was thinking of tinkering with the forwards, & also looking at downgrading Nani for the likes of Larrsson or Royston?? Any comments would be great.

Not sure I'd bring in Vorm now. He's popular but one that I'd keep if I had him, but if you're selling Given then you have £5m to buy someone a lttle better.

Any in the bank to consider Howard? (I would say Stoke or Sunderland keeper, but you could have a headache in 2 or 3 weeks time with possible keeper changes at their clubs)

Each to their own. I have Vorm and I'm prepared to play him tomorrow (as Ruddy isn't a great option too). But if I had the funds and given Everton's fixtures I'd go Howard.

Vorm is still a very useful goalie but I do feel the 2pt and 3pt returns are on their way and Howard would be one in the bank for the double gameweek.

With MU fixs and no Rooney, Nani is worth keeping. Agbongo has some pretty tough fixs coming up, so despite fine form, I'd think about switching him for someone else, possibly Studge, although Bendybus seems to be a popular move with others.

Finally, being a Spurs fan, I don't like Walker. He's a fine player, don't get me wrong, and will get a fair share of att points, but we don't keep enough CSs to justify £5.5m. I'd downgrade to a cheaper option, which could give you a better selection for Agbongo witch.

      Hope that helps.

Larsson is suspended this GW, so forget him. I'd keep Nani, your MF looks smashing! 😉

If you were to do anything, I'd go Agbon > Bendtner (given that you don't have alot of cash in the bank)
I'm thinking of doing Ramsey > Drenthe within the next couple of weeks, may I suggest the same? 😉 Given that Royston proves his worth that is..

    Team is

    Vorm ( Given )
Enrique Walker ShawX ( Simpson Shorey )
Mata Silva VDV Rodwell ( Dyer )
    Suarez Sturridge RVP (C)

1 FT - no cash in the bank

    Undecided as to whether to

A Given to Westwood - bench Vorm - need to get rid of Given anyhow
B Shorey to Turner - bench Enrique
C Shorey to McCauley - Bench Enrique
D Suarez to Adebayour - play defence as they are
E Suarez to Bendy - again play defence as they are
F One of Suarez changes as they are but use surplus to go Shorey to Jags for a 4 point hit

Need to make a decision so any help would be great?!

I don't think any are essential. Option D appeals a little, but I see you have 2 Spurs already. They do have good fixtures and a double down the line, but 3 Spurs seems a bit too reliant on them for my liking.

Looked again at your team and you lack a Man U option. Save the transfer and try to engineer a move to bring in Rooney for Suarez next week, perhaps 3 transfers for a 4pt hit (Suarez, Enrique and Shorey for Rooney, McCauley, Wilkinson - if funds permit).

That would give you strong cover from the top 5 teams, 3 of which who are penalty takers.

There's an option to go DVD (c), RvP (vc). If DVD is fit, he'll play his usual hour, and possibly score well. If he's not fit, he won't even make the bench, Droopy will want to protect him.

Very true '66, but you cannot legislate for in-game injuries. Droopy knows all too well how important DVD is to Tottenham, so if he's not 100% sure on fitness, I don't see him taking any part.

I suppose it comes down to a combo of how DVD feels and what the medical team say that will steer Droopy's decision. I think he'll play, personally.

Just to play Devil's Advocate wouldn't the Swansea game be a good opportunity to put him back up top? They have midfielders avavilable, Swansea are going to hold the ball and Fergie will need a win - it's not like Swansea re going to be slicing though the Utd midfield if Rooney isn't there.
