With gameweek 12 now complete, it’s time to round up all the miscreants and take stock of the ramifications their offences will bring. We’ve already spoken of the 22 Saturday yellows in our previous review and after the addition of the Sunday and Monday games, that yellow card count ticked up to 29.

However, there were no further names joining Wigan’s Antolin Alcaraz, and the Saturday additions, Joey Barton, David Dunn, Stephen Hunt and Jamie O’Hara on the ban list for gameweek 13 (extending to GW14 in the case of the Wigan man).

Meanwhile, the population of the Suspension Tightrope was boosted tonight by a fourth yellow card for Villa’s reborn Bulgarian, Stiliyan Petrov. There are now up to 11 nervous souls on the tightrope, with Saturday’s new faces: Ryan Shawcross and Lee Cattermole, already making themselves uncomfortable on the high wire.

The final mention in the shake-up from gameweek 12 must go to the card happy pair of Steven N’Zonzi and Lucas Leiva. The Blackburn and Liverpool enforcers both picked up further yellows over the weekend. N’Zonzi’s in the bizarre 3-3 draw at Wigan, making that six in just 12 league appearances, with Lucas’ yellow in the win against Chelsea, his sixth in 13 games across league and cup this season. The pair now forge ahead together in the lead of the card ‘race’, with a two-match ban; the prize if either (or both) of them makes it to 10 before the distant April 8 deadline.

Gameweek 13 Bans

  • Antolin Alcaraz (Wigan) – FA Charge
  • Joey Barton (QPR) – 5 Yellows
  • David Dunn (Blackburn) – 1 Red for 2 bookings
  • Stephen Hunt (Wolves) – 5 Yellows
  • Jamie O’Hara (Wolves) – 5 Yellows

Gameweek 13 Tightrope

  • Gabby Agbonlahor (Aston Villa)
  • Stiliyan Petrov (Aston Villa)
  • Frank Lampard (Chelsea)
  • John Terry (Chelsea)
  • Brede Hangeland (Fulham)
  • Steve Sidwell (Fulham)
  • Gareth Barry (Man City)
  • Ryan Shawcross (Stoke)
  • Glenn Whelan (Stoke)
  • Lee Cattermole (Sunderland)
  • Richard Stearman (Wolves)

So happy with my GW this week until Ade went nuts and VDV did nothing. Well played all who had Ade.

As a Spurs fan, I'm excited about what was probably our best played game in two years. As a fantasy player, my green arrow will soon be turning red.

Im a gunner but couldnt resist having your players 🙂 You guys played unbelievably well the last few weeks. Arry is spot on with his team balance and I am expecting you guys to continually doing well till at least the second half of the season.

Worried big time that you guys will finish above us this season 😕

he missed a whole lot of chances, but looked extremely dangerous and tracked back a lot (and very well)

If you have suarez, getting ade is a great switch.

He played the same as he has for the last couple of months. Worked harder than he ever did at Arsenal or City.

Reading people here going mental about how he's "back on form" or "turned a corner" is idiotic. He's been playing consistently well for a while now and always gets a few chances in practically every match, he just happened to convert a couple of them tonight.

    transfer advice much appreciated!

    squad:
    Given, Kenny
Wilkinson, D. Simpson, W. Brown, J. Enrique, Kompany
    M. Petrov, Silva, VDV, Ramsey, Sinclair
    Suarez, Aguero, And. Johnson

have used 1 transfer of 2 free ones; should I?:
    Suarez --> RVP (for free)
Suarez --> RVP and And. Johnson --> Yakubu (for -4)
Suarez --> RVP and And. Johnson --> Sturridge and M. Petrov --> cheap midfielder (for -8)

    many thanks for your input!

Stick with Suarez to RVP for now. Maybe sell Petrov as well for Eagles or Brunt for a hit. Hold onto A Johnson for another week and maybe just bench him. Its best to avoid hits for cheap players. Spread out the transfers over a couple of weeks

Actually now that I have to cool late night bunch, I need some help.

Have Rooney and Nani. One has to go.

So does Victor Moses. Either Larsson or Walters in for him. which one? both? One and Bale, surely. Or just get Ade and keep Nani?

    here are the choices

    rooney, bale Larsson
    Rooney bale Walters
    Ade nani Larsson
    Ade Nani Walters
Ade Nani....Bale? Surely crazy to triple up on spurs, even though it works for ILA(well done, mate)
Rooney Larsson Walters....just stick with VDV as lone spurs coverage

I'm thinking its gotta be the first choice, what do you lot think?

And thats better than rooney larsson bale or rooney walters bale? not worth doubling up on spurs?

Maybe its just because it burned me to bad tonight only having one, but I kinda want more. Being a fan may be fogging my judgment.

I don't think it is good to have both VDV and Bale. A rule of thumb for me is never to double up in the same position. Especially midfield and attack. Besides it will save you money to use elsewhere, in defense perhaps.

Also remember that Bale can be a very frustrating fantasy option. He is on one of his good runs at the moment, but eventually he will go through a long barren patch. You may be too late for this bandwagon, the time to buy could have been a few weeks ago. However if you are confident he will continue to do well then by all means, go for it.

Newman! I'd hold off until the UCL games before taking a switch - the decision should be easier then right? If Roonpig/Nani start the game tonight, I reckon they might bench over the weekend and let Welbeck/Hernandez/Park/Valencia/Giggs take over.

you would think Suarez would score this week but hes missing way to many chances for my likeing id be more worried about that side of the team than the back line as that is where like many you have a large portion of your money invested

No need for the WC. Two trannies is more than enough. In fact I would only use one and keep two for next week. Sell Dunne for Jones, Enrique or Richards. You will need one of them, I would favor Richards for now

I have a hunch Jones will be more of a rotation risk as Richards seems to be playing in all the PL games. I have Jones however and thought he was the better option last week. Its a close one for me but you have to go for one of them I reckon

True I think he will play a lot I just think Richards will play nearly every game. Jones may be due for a rest at some point and SAF has no fear when it comes to rotating players. However there is no doubt when December games comes around Richards may get a mid week rest during that time as well. It really is a tough one to chose between them, and there isn't really a clear favorite for me, go with your gut.

Till gw21, spurs are on a roll in terms of fixture. After that it is another set all together. So that leaves me with a good run of fixtures, after which I immediately wc ( free jan wc). So as this all fits well, a trinity does sound like a good idea.

Surely that works the other way too. If spurs play well, and score loads of goals, doubling (or even trebling up) would work out well for you. Then it comes down to fixtures. Spurs have good/great fixtures 9 out of the next 10, including a DGW. And are on great form. I see them scoring for fun. I've got VDV and Bale, and seriously considering bringing in Adebayor. He will be in for the DGW for sure, but i'm looking at getting him in for Bentner in GW16.

72 points plus Ade bonus for me so thinking i'll get in but knowing my luck i'll have a god awful score next week and get destroyed in the first round

As I appreciate your honest criticism, aren't all moves reactive?

We are all moved that a player has a good prospect of scoring the next GW based upon his performance the week previous and the possibility of a favorable matchup the coming week. What is to say that knee jerking is a bad thing? People on here claim that reactions based upon performance are in some way poor decisions. I disagree, it is one thing to chase points, which I believe is poor management. It is another entirely to chase prospect.

I am not picking on you Bala Punu. Merely, pointing out a trend. IMHO, knee jerk all you want.

    Hi all,

I am competing in a league on month-by-month basis. I am already out of the running for this month, so my focus is to 'fix' the team for the next gamemonth (December and even January)

Since November points are not counted for future gamemonths, I don't mind making several transfers in GW 13 in order to strengthen the team for Dec and Jan (already used my WC in Sep, which resulted in winning my league in October )

    Current team:
Westwood, Ruddy (I am OK with these guys)
    Richards, Naylor, Simpson, Mcauley, Enrique
    Nani, Mata, VDV, Moses, Tiote
    RVP, Siarez, Bendy

    Thinking to change to:

    Option A
Richards to a cheap defender ( Bale, Sess
    Bendy --> Ade

    Option B
as above, but change Nani instead of Mata. This frees up a bit of extra cash for future upgrades

Which one is a better option? My focus is for Gamemonths December and January (where Spurs have an extra game, hence the reason for Bale/VDV/Ade combo - worth 6 points extra even without goal/assist).

In other words, Nani or Mata to be dropped in light of of Dec and Jan fixtures?

    Thank you

      Sorry, the options are

      Bendy –> Ade

So, it appears this week's dilemma is Dunne ->

    a) Richards
    b) P Jones

Fixtures (clean sheet potential) say Jones but rotation risk and attacking threat say Richards. Which to go for? Woodgate to be benched this week (and transferred next week) for whichever I get in.

    Westwood
    Brown, Wilkinson, Woodgate
    Silva, VDV, Ramsey, Sinclair
    RVP, Aguero, Adebayor

    Ruddy, Dunne, Moses, Simpson

I dunno. He seems to be struggling this year. Maybe like Katie, they are trying to build team value for all the Cup torunaments?

    Vorm
    NeilTaylor Brown Wilkinson
    Bale Walters VDV Silva
    Aguero RVP(c) Ade

    Krul, 1) Pilkington, 2) TaylorR, 3) Simpson

I'm a little uneasy about my team :S, especially my defence. Should I be feeling so? (any possible changes?)

Haha, thanks for the suggestion! I have been surviving on the cheap points simpson and taylor provide since gw 2! Getting a reliable defender at their prices will be a headache!

    Team for this week;
    Vorm
    Enrique Jones Wilkinson
    Silva Mata VDV Ramsey
    Hernandez Adebayor RVP
Ruddy - Dyer, Simpson, De Laet
0.6 in the bank, thinking just De Laet > W.Brown and benching Enrique.
    Thoughts?

Good idea, another defensive option is useful under the 2nd wildcard. I only have 3 fit defenders atm so I'll probably sell De Laet in a 3 trade -4 hit.

Good plan. Do it. Good team otherwise.
