Paul Lambert talks of Norwich City rotation. David Moyes praises the performance of Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Shaun Wright-Phillips is an early injury doubt for Neil Warnock and Brendan Rodgers awaits news on scans for both Angel Rangel and Danny Graham:

David Moyes has talked up the abilities of Diniyar Bilyaletdinov after his weekend display at Bolton. With Royston Drenthe missing out due to an ankle problem, the Russian, in a rare league appearance, impressed at the Reebok, grabbing an assist in the 2-0 win. Drenthe’s Fantasy owners will be hoping he’s fit and available for selection this weekend at home to Stoke and leaps ahead of Bilyaletdinov in the pecking order once again.

Brendan Rodgers is sweating on the fitness of Danny Graham after the striker limped out of Sunday’s clash with Aston Villa due to an ankle problem. The Swans boss has similar concerns over right-back Angel Rangel but admitted he is less optimistic over the Spaniard’s chances, with scans on both players likely to reveal more in the next day. Leroy Lita is an obvious replacement for Graham, though Swansea’s options at the back are stretched, meaning Jazz Richards could be handed a top-flight debut.

Paul Lambert has spoken of his intentions to utilise more members of the Norwich squad, after making three changes to his starting lineup for the win over QPR. The Canaries boss has been fielding a settled first XI of late but admits he’ll ring the changes, if necessary, in order to keep his players fully fit:

You need the whole squad. We wanted to freshen up. I felt those lads with that freshness would allow them to hit the ground running and then maybe when it hit the hour mark you might have to think how much have they got left in their body.

Stephen Kelly is expected to be fit for Fulham’s Europa League clash with FC Twente, after making good progress from a groin problem picked up on international duty. Victory over the Dutch side would ensure qualification for the Cottagers and Kelly’s return would boost Martin Jol’s options in the right-back area; with Zdenek Grygera a long-term absentee, Chris Baird has been Jol’s viable alternative of late. In other injury news, Orlando Sa scored on his return to reserve action last night, while Steve Sidwell remains sidelined after a hernia operation.

Alex McLeish has admitted the performances of Jermaine Jenas and Barry Bannan have given him “food for thought” ahead Villa’s home clash with Man United. Despite the weekend game at Swansea finishing goalless, Big Eck feels the midfield duo gave his side an added attacking impetus and both could come into consideration for a starting role on Saturday.

Roberto Mancini has also hit out at the scheduling of tonight’s Carling Cup match against Arsenal- the tie comes just over forty-eight hours after Man City’s match at Liverpool. With this weekend’s league game against Norwich preceding a critical Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich, Mancini has admitted he will “change all the team“ for the showdown- good news for Fantasy managers ahead of the Canaries game on Saturday.

Kenny Dalglish joined Mancini in his criticism. Liverpool are in a similar situation, having to travel to Chelsea only two days after Sunday’s game against City and Dalglish admits there may be “one or two missing“ for his side. With no European competition to consider, though, and given that their next game is not until Monday at Fulham, the Reds boss may field a stronger team than perhaps anticipated, with plenty recovery time ahead of the Craven Cottage clash.

Shaun Wright-Phillips is an injury concern for QPR ahead of this weekend’s clash with West Brom. The player suffered a foot injury against Norwich and left the ground on crutches but Neil Warnock is not ruling him out at this moment:

Shaun is undergoing extensive treatment this week. Fortunately there’s no break, and we haven’t written him off just yet for Saturday’s game against West Brom.

imo no, wait one more week I'd say and do it for free. Spurs aren't exactly keeping clean sheets and if anyone is gonna put one past Friedel it'll be Klasnic. Also Bolton are much better away this season than at home!

For me it depends who you have on your bench. If you are going to play Klasnic it probably is worth the hit - I can see Ba doing more than him this weekend and Ba's price is only going one direction.

Some of people's lack of patience with 'Bandwagons' frustrates me. Bendtner isn't the best of players, but if you've only brought him in for 2 GWs, how can you immediately transfer him out, every player will go through a patch where they don't score or assist. Look at Adebayor, he was running along fairly consistently, an assist a match or similar, and then he doesn't score for 2 matches. But now he's had big scores the past 2 GWs, people will bring him in, and if he doesn't score they'll just transfer him out after another 2 GWs.

    Have some patience.

Adebayor is a good footballer, Bendtner isn't.

Well said, except the key word is consistently. Never had Bendtner so can't really comment but I was one of those who got rid of Adebayor when you stated. He is 'fairly' consistent and in my opinion there is better strikers for his price. When he plays in 4-5-1 (or 4-4-1-1 if you like), he goes missing as it seems to be all about the Spurs midfield. The opponents defence usually have an easy job as it's 2 centre backs against 1 forward.

I generally agree but I transferred Dzeko in (originally for a 4 GW trial as I expected rotation) and now seriously considering swapping him for Ba after 2 GWs. It's hard to know when to quit... I'm sure the players who held onto Rooney instead of swapping in RVP are now fairly regretful.

Keep Dzeko even if he is a bit of a rotation risk. He still has the best points per time played for a forward - Better than Aguero and certainly RVP for value. In every 90 minute game he has done something.

I got Ade on Gw6. He made some assists but didn't score any goals for six weeks since then. Anyway, I had decided to keep him during his goalless period only because he actually looked dangerous and useful in the play of Spurs. He just did not score for some reasons... For me, that's patience.

But it's different for me with Bendtner. I got him on Gw10 and played him every week. He didn't score or made any assist for 3 weeks. I watched Sunderland and seen him rarely involved in the scoring events, e.g. zero shot. He couldn't do much even playing against Wigan and Sunderland, as a team, also didn't impress me. I'd like to keep him but I think I have a better chance to get points + price rise elsewhere, e.g. Ba.

So, I think I made the change for the better in FPL terms.. It's not no patience but go for the better.
Ps. Bendy might score this week.. 😛

I remember reading that someone saw him in a casino last week and was told it was a 'niggle' and just wasn't risked... if this is true, and it's currently all I have to go off, then one would expect a week later, he'd be fine.

VDV's Twitter also suggests to me the same thing - a niggle and wasn't risked, but will be back this weekend.

OK… had another look at the fixtures.

If I was picking between Ba vs Sturridge and it was a long term plan to leave him in until Winter WC time then I’d select Sturridge.

However, if I had neither at this point and was bringing 1 in, with a transfer in mind in a few GWs then it would be Ba now and then Ba > Sturridge from GW18/19.

I guess it comes down to who you currently own between the 2 and how many transfers you wish to use.

That's my thoughts, rested against Norwich tough games against Che and Ars. I'm lucky that i only lose around 0.2mil on him if i get rid, i can easily find that again when it comes to getting him back in.

Am content with team, but happy to have it dissected. So open to comments.

    Vorm (Al-habsi)
    Enrique Jag BAE (Brown Simpson)
    Rodwell Silva Bale Ramsey (Eagles)
    Rooney RVP Sturridge

    Bank 1.9

I like Rodwell but maybe upgrade with the money in the bank untils he’s fit. But Eagles seems a good standby. Also happy to stick with Rooney given fixtures. Any thoughts, thanks.

    Afternoon All,
Posted couple of times yestereday regarding my transfers for this week, sorry for harping on, but Im struggling to make a decision on what to do this week. I have two free transfers (0.2 in bank), just wonderd if you could have a look and see if anyone can suggest a good move?

    Vorn Westwood
    Simpson Enrique Wilkinson Kompany DeLaet
    Ramsey VDV Drenthe Silva Ferguson
    Rooney Adebayor RVP

The only two options I have looked at are
    Rooney>Baa
    Ramsey>Bale
    DeLaet>Jones
    or
    Rooney>Baa
    Ferguson>Ben Arfa
    DeLaet>Baines

Can anyone see any better way forward, keep Rooney maybe? Appreciate any feedback.

My league leader is only about 40 clear, and he seemed a week ahead of me. Every time I planned a change he'd just done the same one! I then changed my tactic, as I didn't want the same team. Our teams are different, a few players the same, but we have a great rivalry because of this. I'm confident my team will catch him, and he knows it'll be close too. Loving it!

I read a lot on here about "differentials".

In my opinion (for what that's worth) is that this dangerous ground so early in the season. People saying things like "I'm getting rid of RVP as he's no longer a differential" are completely insane.

Even if you are 100, 150 or even 200 points behind in your mini league, this can easily be made up over the season.

You need to just concentrate on picking the best players who are scoring the big points. "Differentials" can wait until at least the other side of Christmas and preferably even later.

Shipping out huge points scorers because someone who's ahead of you also has them is an exceptionally bad idea IMO.

Different if you're chasing a monthly prize or equivalent of course.

          Pure craziness.

The only reason I can think of to go out of your way to have 'differentials' is to make the game more interesting, as sometimes it can get slightly boring if everyone has the same players. But that won't help you to win things.

            Yeh, agree with all comments however I want to add some other thoughts of mine;

            1. A differential works when a similar person is in similar form, fixtures and likely hood to score pts.

            2. ALWAYS transfer or select players who YOU think will socre the most pts for your team at all times. So you beleive this involves having 3 plyers from one team, then do it.

"The best players who are scoring the big points". You could argue Baines, Verm, Hernandez all firmly fall into both categories with low ownership but good PPG at the moment. They maybe weren't differentials last season, but they are for various reasons this time 'round. I take your point though.

Have you met Cortese? He's absolutely mental. I was in a meeting with him not long ago. Halfway through he suddenly shouted "FOR F***'S SAKE" and stormed out.

        True story!

The Soton fan I was with (I'm from the trophy-winning part of the south coast), was horrified.

But to be fair, he seems to know how to get the job done. And at least you know where you stand with him!
