A hugely significant fixture in the capital tonight, sees Chelsea host league-leaders Manchester City in the final outing of Gameweek 15. The Dugout Discussion has swung it’s doors wide open, so come and and digest the emerging team news…

Chelsea XI: Cech, Bosingwa, Terry, Ivanovic, Cole, Romeu, Ramires, Meireles, Mata, Drogba, Sturridge.

Man City XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Clichy, Kompany, Lescott, Barry, Yaya Toure, Milner, Silva, Balotelli, Aguero.

The visitors line-up exactly as expected, with Mario Balotelli partnering Sergio Aguero upfront, and Pablo Zabaleta replaces the injured Micah Richards. It’s the home side who make a couple of changes from the game at Newcastle, with the free-roaming David Luiz banned and the once guaranteed-starter Frank Lampard dropped. Jose Bosingwa comes in, pushing Branislav Ivanovic infield, as does Raul Meireles, slotting into the midfield.

You can access the Dugout Discussion chatroom right here.

Suffering with VDV dropping in price, I refuse to sell him for Bale for -4. My main rival sold VDV for Bale last week so that totally put me off. I did a Bendtner > Yakubu and Sess > Nani yesterday for a -4 hit and it felt great!

I am so happy my self-inflicted Sunderland nightmare is over! For some reason I decided to triple up on Sunderland for their nice 4 week run that never happened, then shit hit the fan and the manager got fired and my plan backfired! Bendtner!?!?! What was I thinking!!!!

Do anyone consider to keep or not to keep Silva? He seems to be essential in the beginning of season, but have not delivered much recently..

Silva + Dyer could be traded to Larsson + Walters and have 1.2m left for upgrading elsewhere.

No intention to any change atm. Just discussing how best to utilize the budget. Btw, got Silva at 9.5m. It'd be really hard to get him back later.

It's to be considered... Alternative to Larsson + Walters is Y.Toure + Walters/Larsson and solve the issue of City coverage. In the last 6 games, Y.Toure started every game, played more minutes, and outscored Silva. It's bad that Toure will go to play ACON in Jan.

But do you really want to rotate Walters and Larsson playing 3-4-3. Good first sub option to have in busy schedule though.

    Help me! Two Freeeeeeeees!

    vorm (Kenny)
    JE ShawX Brown Simpson Naylor
    Bale VDV Silva Walters (Dyer)
    Ba Rooney RVP

I think I'm trying to keep VDV for at least one more week
    Options:

    rooney > Studge
    Dyer> Mata

this would be followed by VDV to Nani in two weeks. This would create a pretty wicked midfield of Bale, Nani, silva, and Mata. Strikers would be less sheer amazingness, but still.

    Silva>Mata
    Dyer> Gower or something

fixes my fifth midfielder problem and gets me chelsea coverage without killing off Rooney. I'm just worried that Nani may be the one to have....or both! But silva gone? Crazy, right?!?!?!?

    Ba >Studge
    Silva>Nani

I just think Studge may be amazing. I love Ba, but still, I know I need Chelsea coverage next week.

So is it time to cut Silva? Or get rid of Rooney so I can get Nani? I need Chels coverage, I think, but I am really nervous about Nani going nuts, as well. Help me night dwellers!

I'm forcing myself to believe Nani will return to low-scoring ways after this one game. I want to get the same midfield as you, but can't work out how without either downgrading a striker (happy with VDV Ade Studge), or getting rid of Vermaelen, which again I don't want to do. Forcing myself to sit tight this week so I have 2 transfers going into Xmas.

I had a long response written out before I lost connection. The short of it is that I like the first option. You have to give up something to get something and that trade gets you two good players for one essentially. It gives you two weeks to see if you still want to trade out vdv for nani also. Sure, Rooney could score well but the combo of Sturridge and Mata could well also.

Need a bit of help guys,

Been ravaged with injuries and suspensions all season, so trying to reconstruct my team without taking too many hits. Currently 150pts behind leader in mini league.
    Currently have:

    Schwarzer

    Enrique Kompany Jones Brown TaylorS

    Silva Nani Drenthe Brunt Moses

    RVP Gervinho Bendy

    0.2m in bank, 1 freebie.

    Should I:

    A take a 4pt hit and get rid of 2 injuries (Taylor/Bendy/Drenthe)
B Take out Bendy + Gerv -> Ba + Sturridge (which then gives me 1.6m in bank)
C Take an 8 point hit and have an injury free squad
    D Any other option

    Team for this game week:

    Vorm
    BAE, Jones, Enrique
    VDV (VC), Nani, Silva, Walters
    Ade (C), RVP, Yaks

(Gower, Shaw+, Brown / Al Habsi)

Any suggestions on who to play, bench order? Take a -4 hit for someone in particular?

Leaving me with 2.0m in the bank and this lineup

    Ruddy
    Smalling/Hibbert/Simpson
    Bale/OHara/Mata/Silva
    Sturridge/Adebayor/Rvp

would be worried about no MANU attacking coverage. But good Citeh, Ars and Tot coverage, not to mention Henderson, who could come up trumps for Liverpool.

Defensively you've got basically 2 defenders who have a shot at consisently (somewhat) returning clean sheets (Smalling, Hibbert). Newc, Nor, WBA, Sun: probably not bringing in many points.

You'd best hold on to Franklin Terrace...you're going to need it.

And watch out for Stringer Bell and Omar Little. They're both gunning for you.

with the busy Xmas/NYE season coming up, i'd say your priority is getting a fully-fit squad. that being the case, i'd go for A or C.

that said, gervinho really is too much of a luxury as a striker, and you really ought to have some spurs coverage.

if C, i'd do something like:

taylor > 4.0 defender (+0.9 depending on when you bought him)
      drenthe > sinclair (-0.2)
      bendy > ba (-0.7)
      gervinho > ade (-0.1)

What is with this stupid Silva out theme going on lately!?
He has only been rested twice this season, both only because they had NEW and AVL 3 days before a Champions League game. He has only not scored/assisted twice when starting, better than any other midfielder in the comp.
People go on about his recent form, but besides that Newcastle game, he has scored 12, 5, 8, 5, 7 and 2 in his last 6. What the hell is poor about a 6.5 average in his last 6 starts, and for the whole season he has averaged 6.7 when starting, so he has hardly had a form slump.
There is not 1 midfielder I would prefer to him, crazy IMO.

Grass is always greener on the other side. That's why when they have whoever the flavour of the week is, they'll long for that assist every game with regular bonus points and realize they can't afford to bring back Silva anymore at 10.5.

With WOL for Nani this week and qpr for Mata next yes it looks like the bandwagons are already lined up...

See in an ideal world where transfers weren't limited and you didn't get penalized for dropping and buying back players who've risen, yes I'd obviously consider Silva > Mata for one week at Wigan... but that's not FPL

Screwed up my wildcard in GW8 or so by waking up at 11.25am Saturday, spent most of the time up to GW13 fixing it. Not too worried about the rank tbh, a fair number of people had ropey starts to the season but I'm getting the hang of it now and am not too bothered about people making judgments about my rank just past a third of the way through the season 😛

There are too many options. Right now I rank possible strikers as
Ba, Sturridge, Rooney, Adebayor, RVP, Yakubu

    And rank midfielders as
Bale, Nani, Mata, Silva (no I'm not going to lose faith in what was the #1-ranked mid last week)

    But my team is
    Vorm Schwarzer
    Jones Enrique Raylor Naylor Wilkinson
    Bale Nani Silva Ramsey Eagles
    RVP Sturridge Adebayor

1FT, 0.2 in bank. Is it worth making changes and how could I get my preferences in?

I dont want to advise so much, just feel very happy if everyone sell Silva 😀 It's annoying when all managers have Silva in our team. now many people sell him make us some differential

my TV is 106.8 with 2.2 in the bank.

          Vorm, Krul
          Enrique, Raylor, Jones, Jags, Naylor
          Silva, Nani, Bale, Walters, Gower
          RVP, Ade, Sturridge

I got alot of these players early so my on sell value is less e.g 10 for Silva, 4.6 for Raylor, 12.5 for RVP etc.

889 overall points with hopefully a bonus for Sturrdige.

might think about keeping barfa. i suppose his recent stuttering appearances are a concern, but he's got the talent and fixtures to score some points. rangel defo needs replacing, would do that first.

evans is a good shout, also look at everton: very tight at the back of late, good fixtures to come and a DGW to boot.

I took out Silva last week mainly from watching Chelsea play and seeing how good Mata is, Chelsea were starting to pick up form and I believe that they are gonna go on a bit of a run now with Mata being at the heart of their attacks.

I also chose Nani because Man Utd (over the last 15 years) are always coming back stronger after a failure (Losing to Man City 6-1, Out of Champs League) so I assumed they would destroy Wolves

Man City have just breezed through every game so far this season and now finally after losing out in CL and losing to Chelsea it is going to be interesting to see how they bounce back - none of the players as a team have had to deal with this kind of set back yet.

A team can't go the whole season without hitting some kind of bad form and I'm predicitng this will be it for Man City.

VDV > Silva just because VDV has a double gameweek and I think people forget quite easily how good he is.

Granted, Man City could come back stronger and destroy Arsenal 4-0 but I'm prepared to take the risk that they will fault apart.

That is what FPL is all about! ^_^

This is a great season for FFL.

We are all just doing our best with our individual approaches and love to see some folks playing the game and jumping up and down at some of the transfers others are making, especially when they come off later and post 'why didn't I do that back then' etc.

Also should have mentioned before, I'm not worried about selling him at 10 with him being valued at 10.5.

Obviously, I bought him at 9.5 but I'm not going to hang on to someone who I think will be superceded just because of that gap.

Also, I try these things out as it can be a bit dull just doing the same old thing year after year.

So you reckon the Sunderland defence might be leaky enough for this to be another bumper Spurs fixture? I saw highlights of the match and it was a wild open game with possession endlessly given away, perhaps this will suit Spurs?

I think so cause Spurs always creates shitloads of chances every game. I have been watching their games since I geniously bought Brown + Bendtner and I must say they are very poor at both attacking and defending. Westwood bailed them out couple of times and the goal they scored are either only penalty, wonder shots and freekicks.
