Suspensions

Weโ€™re pleased to announce that the Scoutโ€™s Suspension Tightrope widget is reborn and now available in your sidebars.
Over recent weeks, you will hopefully have noticed that Anorak has joined the Scout team and supplied regular articles and updates on suspension matters. Now we can accompany this with our own widget, informing visitors on those players on the verge of a suspension.

The current list shows all those players sitting on four yellow cards, just one booking away from one a one-match ban. These players have four more gameweeks to go before they reach the amnesty, at which point 10 bookings are required for a ban to enforced. We will of course be updating this list as the gameweeks roll by, with Anorakโ€™s articles providing comment and insight on new entries and recent bans.

The tightrope gathers data from all league and cup matches and our members can view all this data, including those players over and under the four booking mark, via the player discipline table in the Members Area.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

The captains poll seems to suggest Ba with Ade a close 2nd. Pick one of them

            Fair call, based on form.

My problem with Mata for (C) is he should play only 60 odd mins if Chelsea are in a winning position, but that could be more than enough time to wreak some havoc against a toothless defence.

Nani....hmmm away from home - never seems to be at his best.

            Ade/Ba - justified.

Ive just realised I've made my bed now until the January WC and I just have to lie in it.

By bringing in the Pig, having RVP and Ade up front as well, being stubborn on Baines and not having the balls (maybe its a good thing) to get rid of Silva has resulted in there not being a lot I can really do apart from keep faith with my bargain MF's

I will be switching out Brown to Evans and Faurlin to someone else over the next couple of weeks... but those aren't exactly earth moving transfers...

No need to get rid of Silva anyway, if they'd had been awarded that penalty and Balo converted, he'd have an assist (and therefore not 2 points) and everything would be normal.
God forbid he scores ANOTHER 2 pointer within the next few!

i said it coz comparitively nani/mata will get more pts over silva till WC fixtures.. and you can always get him back then..

Im so far behind that i have to risk some players now... and almost every single of my friends have silva, so not much of differential..

You don't know that at all.
I have both Mata and Nani (went VDV > Nani this week) and despite being a fan of both, I can easily admit Nani is inconsistent but explosive and Mata is hardly proven, where as Silva is consistent and proven...

A lot of people would have.
You were on WC so its obviously a different story, but people getting this rid for Nani/Mata probably wouldn't have had he got his usual assist on Monday.

You pay for what you get with Silva.
Only 2 games that he has started and failed to deliver, how many players can you say that about? None, I believe.

At 9.5 - yes, which allows you to play the big 4 mids + RVP/Ade
At 10.1 - not really. I can't fit in Ade along with 4 mids + RVP. Hence, need to chose between Silva & Mata.

But still, barring Nani maybe, he is probably the best midfielder to have, especially with no CL anymore.

I think Rooney is just as good a pick as everyone's Ba/Ade/RVP/Mata/Bale/Sturridge this week.
I don't watch much of QPR, but I'd expect A.Ferdinand out to be a bad thing for their defence.

Well, as illogical as it is, the Schwarzer injury has got me thinking about my captain choice. I had it on Ba, but now that I'm forced to play Vorm away to Newcastle (and with Ba on penalties), I'm worried that the 'Penalty Killer' may kill my captain's points if he does it again! A smarter player than me would probably hedge their bets and leave it on Ba, but Ade looks tempting. I think he had a legitimate second goal disallowed last week for offside? And should have had the chance at another penalty too (Shawx handball?)??

The Swans Newcastle game will be interesting. Not many Ba owners seem to have thought about Swanseas solid defense it seems (albeit dodgy away from home). It would be a risk to captain Ba in that fixture imo. Ade is the logical and safe choice

Plus the Caulker factor, he is much better than Monk, and barring the MCI game, nobody has really done much to them with Caulker there.
Even Arsenal only scraped a goal through a dodgy keeper/defender misunderstanding.

Ah, stand corrected, i thought the 45 min apperance was as a sub. Just see it unlikely that he wont start, not when AVB is just putting a run together, he will want to take no risks this weekend.

That said, im torn between him and Ba for the armband. I can see City beating Arsenal quite well, considering last week, so Aguero and Silva are also in my mind, only the risk of them not starting puts me off.

+1, just do whatever YOU want to do.
        Either way you will come on and say;
'ARRGGHH why did I captain Drogba, AVB should have started him!'
        or
'I was on here earlier and everyone told me that Drogba wouldn't start so I didn't captain him and he scored twice'
Which leads to the question, why do you even have him?

Because you won't get any more than 3 points from him.
He is a defensive midfielder - I have nothing wrong with his gametime and first team chances.
I think a midfield with Moses/Allen/Romeu is way too weak.
I'd look to put more funds into that, you're effectively missing out on 3 of Nani/Silva/Mata/Bale/VDV which is something I wouldn't want to do..

        meh no point in hiding:

        VDV>Mata
        Long>Sturridge

Happy to leave it like that for a while. Thought I'd just cut my losses with Sturridge and I always wanted Mata for this week so let's hope he goes mental!

          + 1000000 for Mata.

On Adebayor at the moment, few Chelsea fans on their forum think Malouda may get a start - pretty much the only thing stopping me from captaining him..

I can't believe Fletcher has scored 16 in 23 or something like that, could well be worth a go for Wolves two nice home games??

if i didnt have 3 of RVP, Adebayor, Ba and Sturridge, I would consider. Seems many here are in the same position.

what i mean to say is that most teams have all 3 forward positions currently taken up out of those four, and with current form and fixtures, wouldnt be looking to drop. that being said, if i didnt have 3 of them (all but ba) I would consider fletcher.

Will Meireles start against Wigan? Think Lampard will be rested for Spurs the following week, and cant get Ramires as he's on 4 yellows!!

Also, Swapping Richards for Evans. Yay or Nay?

I think if anything, Meireles will be rested for Spurs with Lampard playing.
Think Fatty has lost his starting place to be honest, and he struggles to keep up in the bigger games.

Ok reckon i'll swap Richards for Jags (Everton have 2 'easyish' home games up next), and Sess for Ramires. So my team for this week should look like:

          Ruddy (Vorm)
R Taylor, Enrique, Jones, Jags (Williams)
          VDV, Ramires, Nani, Sinclair (Rodwell)
          RVP, Ba, Ade

          What you think? ๐Ÿ™‚

here is my midfield, who would you bench?

    Eagles / Sinclair / Bale / Barton / Song

my defence is Richards / Baines / Simpson / Hangeland / De Lout

Forwards are Ba / RVP / Ade

maybe worth considering only 3 mid players this week, i am not sure???

any advise would be great , thx

what annoys me is everyone seems to think in order to have a winter break we need to lose christmas and new year footie. No we don't just have the break in jan, when the weather is bad and the pitches really struggle
