John Terry suffers a training ground Achilles scare but is expected to be fit for Thursday’s trip to Spurs. Jamie O’Hara is still unavailable for Wolves ahead of tomorrow night’s home game with Norwich, while the injuries continue to mount up for Steve Kean:

Wolves confirmed earlier today that both Jamie O’Hara and Dave Edwards are out of tomorrow night’s game against Norwich. The pair missed the weekend defeat at home to Stoke but O’Hara had initially been expected to be fit for the Canaries game. Given he has averaged over 9 points per game in his last three Molineux fixtures, his loss is a significant blow for both Mick McCarthy and Fantasy managers alike.

The injuries continue to rack up for Blackburn’s under-fire boss Steve Kean. Gael Givet is set for a spell on the sidelines, with the club announcing he is to undergo minor heart surgery, though Kean doesn’t expect his length of absence to be too prolonged. Scott Dann is also out for an estimated period of 6 weeks– the centre-half injured his groin in the process of scoring his side’s equaliser against West Brom and is to undergo an operation. Kean does, however, expect Junior Hoilett to be available for tomorrow night’s visit of Bolton.

Chelsea’s open training session today saw John Terry helped off the pitch after suffering what appeared to be an ankle problem. The club physios have since said he tweaked his Achilles but the Blues skipper is expected to be fit for Thursday’s trip to Spurs. David Luiz and Ramires both sat out training, with the pair having missed the visit to Wigan at the weekend.

The omission of Darren Bent from Aston Villa’s first XI against Liverpool yesterday came as a surprise to many. Bent’s subsequent Christmas shopping trip as his side went down 2-0 raised more than a few eyebrows, though, and led Alex McLeish to insist there has been no falling out between the pair. With Gabby Agbonlahor also out due to suspension, Villa were forced to field Emile Heskey and Nathan Delfouneso up front and never threatened Kenny Dalglish’s side throughout the ninety minutes. Big Eck explained post-match:

Darren had a scan during the week. It confirmed he had a grade one injury, I didn’t reveal it because I wanted to keep things back from Liverpool. You have to understand that. I didn’t want Liverpool knowing our starting line-up. Darren was injured. Bent was in for two hours’ treatment this morning and was told to rest at home. He went home and watched the game but near the end he went out to collect some Christmas presents. End of story.

Johan Djourou limped out of Arsenal’s game against Manchester City yesterday with a groin injury. Djourou was replaced after 46 minutes by Ignasi Miquel and with Arsene Wenger estimating the Swiss international is likely to be out for 21 days, it’s fair to say the Gunners have something of a defensive dilemma right now. Kieran Gibbs has an outside chance of making it for the game at Aston Villa but barring that, Miquel could well continue at left-back, with Thomas Vermaelen moving back to the centre and Laurent Koscielny out right.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Eagles was on the bench at the weekend but came on at half time, I reckon he's likely to start. Also a bit wary of taking him out before they play Blackburn, not to mention the two home games against Newcastle and Wolves. Having said that Everton have some handy fixtures coming up, including the double GW, so it's a tricky one.

If you've held on to him this long you may as well keep him. Seems like a bit of a sideways move imo, Drenthe will get game time now he's fully fit and I expect he'll get a couple of goals or assists over the next few games.

    Vorm (Given)

Evans - Ward - Jose Enrique (Brown - N Taylor)

Van Der Vaart - Silva - Drenthe - Vukcevic (Sinclair)

Adebayor - Van Persie - Sturridge

I think I'll stick this week and use my £3.1 million next week to do: Vukcevic to Eagles and Adebayor to Rooney. Thoughts?

I'm sure this has been done ad nauseam but I'm pretty damn peeved about Ade inexplicably getting 3bps (especially over VDV). It's soured an otherwise lovely GW for me.

      ade's ppl was 22 and vdv's was 20 i think

that one shot off target probably cost him 2 points. same here, 3 points would have been sweet for him, especially after wathcing so many ppl do vdv>bale/nani

Especially when Vorm didn't get any the week before, with a CS + Penalty saves! Has anyone actually manged a defininitive replication of the PPI formula or came close? From what I can tell shots on target help/shots off target are a killer & penalty saves dont count for much!

The shots off target thing is the worst of them all... if someone hits a 30 yard screamer and it smacks into the post, their chance of bonus points drops.

disagree - Evans almost scored a couple of times this weekend, and clean sheets odds against Ful. look higher than Walter's chances of scoring away against Citeh.

Walter's scores his goals at home

Yeah I'd probably leave that as it is.

I've got 2 freebies for this team

      Vorm
      Enrique Simpson Jones
      VDV Silva Walters Nani
      RVP Ba Adebayor

      Cerny Walker Dyer Boyata

Not sure I need to use the transfers but I'm a bit worried about Walters playing City and Silva possibly being rested.

Im thinking of doing a defensive change.

Brown > Evans? Or save the transfer. I doubt doubling up on United is such a bad thing looking at the fixtures at hand, leaving me with a team of:

    Vorm. (Ruddy)
    Evans. Kompany. Jones. Simpson.(Wilkinson)
    Mata. Silva. Bale. (Walters. Dyer)
    Ba. Adebayor. Van Persie (C)

We have pretty similar teams. I don't think Brown will keep a CS. and against MCY i think benching Walters is the way to go.

So either we play Brown..and hope for a measly CS, or trade in Evans and be more assured. Makes sense?

Or play safe and save the transfer. Gah.

Dynamic - I know the midfield is shit, and the benched midfielders aren't much better, but I still unconvinced that midfielders are worth investing heavily in this season. Would rather, and have, invested by funds in the defence and front line.

I think you are right, midfield has been a let down this season, big hitters seem to get the occasional big score which i seem to always miss out on. Maybe a punt on Ramires or Valencia soon, you should be able to squeeze one of them in, You are pretty set with that frontline.

A midfield of Ramsey-Sinclair-Drenthe is decent for the next two weeks after this though, and I'll always be playing four at the back, and obviously the three big hitters.

            Ramsey: WLV QPR
            Sinclair: QPR TOT
            Drenthe: sun wba

Long term plan is to have two free transfers for week 20 (the Everton/Tottenham DGW) and to do Big Bad Brad Johnson > VDV/Bale, and Rooney > Sturridge.
