With the dust barely settled from the weekend’s action, Gameweek 17 is upon us immediately and we’ve still the small matter of announcing the Round Five fixtures for the Paddy Power Cup V. Before that however, let’s take a minute to reflect on the results from Round Four, which can be viewed right here. The headlines…

A brand new name will be etched onto the mythical Cup, as reigning champ Ninja_Fit_Saints become the fourth and final former winner to meet his match. Mayhey Kid took the scalp 56 – 39, to complete the four-week demise of the Cup royalty.

There’s no stopping Mark though, who dispatched Hassyg 72 – 55 booking his place in the last 64. That score of 72 earned the Scout leader a bronze medal for the week, bettered only by Dyslexia United‘s 73 (- 32 Tommytabs123) and Milton Millieiscos‘ top-scoring 77 (- 46 F.Y.F.B).

Now, onto the fifth round draw… The 32 fixtures are available to peruse right here.

The highest-ranked fantasy manager left in the competition is non other than Der-Hammer95, sitting a hugely impressive 356th overall. He comes up against s4petah, who beat the round three top-scorer at the weekend.

Mark’s fine run looks set to continue, as he has drawn the lowest-ranked manager left in the competition, Mighty Manchester.

Good luck to all 64 participants, and we’ll bring you the results and subsequent fixtures in plenty of time before the Boxing Day Premier League games.

        Same, except I have 2 at the moment..
        Mata/Nani/N.Taylor > Baines/Drenthe/VDV along side Bale and Adebayor.
        Will probably WC GW20/21.

      Likewise.

      im planning to have BAE, VDV, Ade and Jagielka, Drenthe, and possibly Rodwell.

      The only problem with having 6 all up is who to bench out of Nani, Silva, or Sturridge.

        My plan at the moment is;
        GW18 - nothing
        GW19 - Ba > Sturridge
        GW20 - N.Taylor (or Simpson/Brown) Nani and Mata > Drenthe/VDV and Baines (-4)
        Nani has Newcastle away so I don't fancy much from him, and Mata has Wolves away, but I'll have Sturridge to cover any Chelsea damage.

          Similarish thinking. Mine is:

          GW17: Nothing
          GW18: Suarez & Brown -> Studge & J Evans
          GW19: Nothing
          GW20: Sinclair, Ramsey & Nani -> Bale, VDV & Drenthe (4 point hit)

          Exactly. It's the Bolton at home at the start of the DGW that makes the Everton options look OK. Your reply wasn't there when I typed up mine about no Baines mentions btw...

      He SHOULD definitely start. But instead of Best or Obertan, not Cabeye. Not sure that he will though. Pardew has been giving out mixed signals. Saying that HBA has to work harder to earn his place in the team, but also that by not playing him on saturday, he should be chomping at the bit if he gets his chance today. I've got him, and going to give him 2 more chances.

    Alreet lads

    I've noticed a few on here expecting Ryan Taylor to get his place back tomorrow if he is fit. Why would that be then?? Ryan Taylor is a championship standard (at best) right midfielder. He has no pace (at all). No positional sense. Can't tackle. When he plays, we don't have a left winger because Jones has to cover him so much. All he has is the ability to hit a decent free kick once in a while. Even then, most of his set pieces are rubbish. Santon is the captain of the italian under 21's. Was playing regularly for Inter when he was 18. Was rated at 20 million a couple of years back (though has had a tough year or two since then). He was also AWESOME on saturday. The only reason that Taylor has been playing at all is because Pardew didn't want to mess with the best defence in the league (in spite of taylor). Now there is no reason for him not to play Santon. This makes Santon an absolute bargain. I would say that the only chance of Taylor getting his place back is at right back, especially as Simpson hasn't agreed a new contract. But he has played well recently, so i can't see him being dropped.

    Please note that I was absolutely sure that HBA would play at the weekend. So I have been wrong before!
