Steve Morison gets amongst the points yet again for Norwich. Wayne Hennessey’s heroics restrict the Canaries to a couple of goals at Molineux, while Chris Eagles’ Fantasy owners will be getting a little nervous as the winger is benched for the second match in a row:

Steve Morison
Once again, the Welshman produced the goods for his Fantasy owners last night. Morison provided an assist for Simeon Jackson’s goal to put Norwich 2-1 ahead at Molineux and, in terms of value, is the number one outfield player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. Morison’s consistency is so strong he gets an almost-weekly mention in the Scout Notes- last night’s contribution means that, since becoming a permanent fixture in Paul Lambert’s starting XI back in Gameweek 5, he has either scored or assisted in all but three games. In spite of his heroics, Morison remains at 5.0, his original price, though is proving to be one of the most reliable Fantasy acquisitions around.

Andrew Surman
The midfield was a peripheral figure in the Canaries set-up over the first twelve gameweeks, making just three appearances, but now seems to have established himself in Paul Lambert’s first XI. Surman has started every match since gameweek 13, failing to finish only one of those fixtures, and vindicated his manager’s decision by firing home the opener at Wolves last night. At 4.3, he looks decent value and has crept onto the radar, though second-guessing Lambert’s team selection at times can prove a tad too tricky.

Kyle Naughton
The full-back picked up his fifth booking of the season and will serve his one-match suspension in the Canaries next game, at home to Spurs. Initially, there was some confusion over this- given that Tottenham are his parent club, he would have been ineligible to play on the 27th December anyway, but this morning we’ve had it confirmed by the FA that he will be available for selection for the New Year’s Eve fixture at home to Fulham, having served his suspension.

Kevin Doyle
His omission from last night’s Wolves lineup was something of a rarity. Doyle dropped to the bench for the first time this season, with Sylvain Ebanks-Blake fielded alongside Steven Fletcher. Given his replacement found the net, Doyle’s owners may be a little wary going forward now, with his position as an automatic first-choice forward perhaps no longer as assured.

Wayne Hennessey
The Wolves stopper may have shipped a couple of goals but performed heroics between the posts to defy Norwich time and again. Hennessey made 9 saves at Molineux last night and has now recorded 84 saves this season- given that Brad Friedel is second best with 64, the Welshman’s importance to Mick McCarthy’s outfit is obvious. You’d have to go back to gameweek 3 for the last time Hennessey recorded a clean sheet but thanks to his save points, he’s the third-top scoring keeper in FPL so far this term.

Yakubu
The Nigerian’s goal was not enough to save Blackburn from defeat but his Fantasy owners will be smiling after he grabbed his tenth goal of the campaign. Rovers fans may be calling for the head of Steve Kean but they cannot deny his purchase of Yakubu was an inspired decision- his 10 goal haul has come from just eleven starts. With away trips to Liverpool and Man United next, his owners won’t be too optimistic over the festive period.

Chris Eagles
The winger’s place in Bolton’s starting XI had seemingly looked assured over the last few months. Eagles had started every one of the Trotters’ fixtures from gameweek 8-15 but he was afforded a forty-five minute sub appearance last week away to Fulham. Last night saw this situation worsen, much to the chagrin of Eagles’ 10.8% of Fantasy owners- not only was he benched, he failed to make an appearance in what was, arguably, Bolton’s most crucial game of the season. The win at bitter rivals Blackburn lifted Bolton off the bottom of the table and given that Martin Petrov, installed in Eagles’ place on the left wing, grabbed an assist, his owners will be anxiously reviewing the situation over the next couple of gameweeks, particularly with a couple of crucial home games up next.

Kevin Davies
Similar to Eagles, his omission from the Bolton side was significant, though Davies has just 4.1% of owners in comparison. Owen Coyle went with David N’Gog alongside Ivan Klasnic, with the latter seemingly an automatic starter when available this term. With a couple of goals all season, compared to Klasnic’s 7, Davies is clearly not the steady Fantasy force he was in seasons gone by and given that he, too, sat on the bench for the entirety of the derby, his game time looked less assured than ever- Davies has completed just six full appearances this season for the Trotters.

It's a tricky one. If i have nothing else needing changing for boxing day, as is quite likely, I will probably transfer him for Morison, I fancy Crouchy but can't quite afford him.

        What options are you considering?

Considering Morisson also but I have always had a soft touch for the Yak, one of nicest players in the league.
He is a proven goal scorer and Blackburn don't have someone to feed him except Hoilett. Obviously it is a results business and The Yak is up for the chop from my team

He should have had a penalty last night also, absolutely filthy tackle on Rochina.

    Vorm (Krul)

    Kompany Enrique Evans (Simpson Caulker)

    Nani Silva Bale Drenthe (Dyer)

    RVP Rooney Adebayor

Good to go for Boxing Day barring any injury news? Any suggestions?

Key to boxing day is making sure you have 3 starters on your bench. You'll look at your team and see all the easy fixtures, but there's a high likelihood top players will be rested.

Bizarrely, although I've got him I'm sort of hoping that Bale doesn't make it tomorrow, cos I've got Surman sitting first sub! Brought Surman in yesterday for Dyer and am feeling good about that - not only did he score, he also had quite a few shots on target (should be good for the BPs) and was taking corners - looks a steal at 4.3m.

Are there still people on this board that feel the 8 game ban handed out to Suarez was too harsh?

Stop and think, if you were proved to have racially abused one of your colleagues in your profession (as I am sure Luis was) how likely would you be to be sacked altogether nevermind just temporarily suspended minus less than a week's pay?

Problem is that we haven't seen the 'evidence'. At first glance he admitted to using the word 'Negrito' and, apologies for this, perhaps the case has been seen as 'black and white' if you take the word at its harshest interpretation.

Interestingly if you google the word it says it is a Spanish diminutive, meaning 'little black person'. If you click on diminutive it then suggest it is a term of affection!

I also think it is harsh considering it is a one man's word against another. On the contrary I don't think Suarez is racist but he is being punished for a racist comment, whether he meant it or not I guess we will never no.

I agree but that does not mean he is racist. If you carefully read the FA verdict he is been punished for a racist comment which is different from being just plain racist. On the other hand John Terry is seen in camera racially abusing Ferdinand. he derserves greater punishment but him been the England captain, the FA would most likely be lenient

Terry and Suarez deserve to be punished equally.

As Andy85wsm said above, Suarez was in direct competition with Evra and in a heated moment decided to be affectionate? I don't buy it. It may be affectionate in Spain, but it sounds rather patronising in the UK.

Forget the race element, how affectionate is a term that describes someone as a little person, that in itself carries a little negative intent. Then when you attach the race lable in conjunction with this term, it doesn't add up.

I don't think anyone is suggesting it's affectionate-I was merely drawing attention to an 'interpretation' but any common sense applied and viewing of body language would know there was no love lost.

This BBC article provides an alternative view.

              http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16262537.stm

My only uncertainty is how Robust is the evidence and the reality is probably that there are dozens of players up and down the country who should probably be facing the same punishment if the opposing players made a complaint.

My point also. I am not defending anyone. My gripe is how concrete and beyond reasonable doubt is the evidence. Suarez used the N word which he accepts saying it but this is unprecedented move from the FA. I will be more interested to see the outcome from Terry's case which has more concrete and clear evidence

Which 3 players should I get rid off for the SDT transfer window?
    S Given/ J Collins / S Taylor / S Nasri / L Suarez

    Im thinking:

    option1:
S Taylor, J Colins and Suarez?

    option2
S Taylor, Nasri and Suarez?

I think Given will be back soon! and Suarez is a definate

I on the other hand, will. Though I'd prefer not to. Only other option is to downgrade one of them regardless, but not losing Nani, Bale and VdV have DGW coming up and Silva is my only City coverage (though RvP is my only Arsenal coverage)

What's more important to Wenger, RVP setting a personal record or Arsenal winning games? I still think he'll be rested, or at least start on the bench and come off it with half hour to go, for one of the two home games (QPR most likely). Are Arsenal moving the Wolves game back a day or two (I'm out of the loop on this one)? If so, it'll be 3 games (the toughest of which is the last one, and I think that's the important point) in the space of 5-6 days. I still don't see him starting all three.
