Driving home for Christmas, we present you with the festive ScoutCast. Obviously only for those without passengers – we wouldn’t want to inflict this on unsuspecting souls.

A stocking brimming with the usual merriment, the episode comes with the annual added bonus of hearing myself and Mark exchanging “ironic” gifts as an act of “goodwill” one more.

Along the way we deliberate the Robin Van Persie helpline, the revolving doors being worked by Gareth Bale and Rafael Van der Vaart and the perils of double gameweek investment.

Merry Christmas from the ScoutCast!

Come pull your Christmas cracker here.

Alternatively, stream away on the handy player below…

Eagles > Osman, Moses, Hoolahan, Jordi, M. Petrov, Scharner, MGP, Albrighton, or Carrick?

same as before with “no-clones” and the above being the only available players.

Newcastle on the wane and too reliant on Ba.

Bolton had a massive boost midweek.

    Adebayor > Rooney

I think Rooney is a must have in the next 4 GW's. Ade has tough game and then leaves for African Cup. Walters has great fixtures.

Wouldn't be surprised if he does against a team who'll be looking to score more than 4-5 goals...though odds would put Naylor in front of him. It's just a gamble which you COULD be willing to take.

ok last repost. just wanted to get a few more opinions on this before i'm off to bed.

    vorm (krul)
    enrique, evans, raylor, (naylor, simpson)
    nani, silva, ramsey, vdv (gower)
    rooney, ade, morison

took a 4 point hit to bring in nani, morison, evans for eagles, dzeko, jones.

obviously, i need to get rid of vdv so which is a better option?

    A) VDV –> bale now for total 8 point hit; then next week do something with ramsey or raylor
    B) VDV –> bale next week and do something with ramsey or raylor for another 4 pt hit

I guess you will need massive re-structuring to get RVP but that is not worth it with all the points hit you have to take. Rooney is back in form now. Dzeko is too much of a rotation risk. In that case maybe option A

It's a toss up between Rooney, RVP and Nani for the (c) and (vc) this week. The problem with Nani and Rooney is that MUN can win big without them scoring well. The same cannot be said about ARS. I think both will win by 2-3 goals.

I had Jones (insert embarrased face). Rushed through my 2 freebies as wouldn't have been able to after Rooney rose/Suarez fell. Then P Jones' broken face turned out not to be so broken 🙁

Bale is top of my list. Sturridge is great value - may get him for Rooney in GW20. Vorm has poor fixtures and Enrique is no longer cheap.

Yeah, I ummed and ahhhed over Rooney for a while. In retrospect it probably wasn't the % play - should have kept Jones and just done Brown -> JEvans. That said, Jones is still a doubt imo for the BD match, plus Rooney has started to look a bigger goal threat of late and has the potential to score massive in the next 2. Time will tell I guess. Go Pig!!!

I would doubt that very much. He has played 90 mins every single game and is pivotal to their attack (Jones cannot play with Crouch). He is the one player I'm worried about not having this week.

Mata is a home lad, and probably on penalties.

Option A. DVD and Naylor to Caulker and Mata
Option B: No hit and go with someone cheaper. But that 0,1 lost will go against me, whole season. Why I waited??????????

            Drog will be on pens.

Honestly, I think Walters will outscore Mata comfortably over the next 2 GWs, and he is your man. That 0.1m you missed is a blessing in disguise. It also gives you enough to then do Studge -> Adebayor for the DGW.

    Vorm
    Kompany, BAE, Evans
    Drenthe, Silva, Bale, Nani
    RVP, Sturridge, Adebayor

On a second thought New had some surprising away CS's last year. I remember I had SImpson. There is the biggest potential there. So go for SImpson after all
