As the official Fantasy Premier League version begun this week with over two million hopefuls, our very own Paddy Power Cup V was down the last 32. With no virtual coin toss nonsense to worry about here, let’s see how it panned out…

Top-score this week went to Mr Bungle, who battered Chris H 67 – 35. That was the widest margin of victory for the round by quite some distance.

In doubling his opponent’s score was, Declan came closest to that 32-point gulf, as he bossed lowest-scoring jinswick 44 – 22.

For the first time this season there wasn’t a single draw, with runty‘s 50 – 49 triumph over GreenWindmill the tightest affair.

Der-Hammer95 continued his fine form to reach the last 16 as the highest ranked fantasy manager in the tournament. His 54 – 38 drubbing of Peadarb was enough for another green arrow and 181st in the world.

The fixtures for the seventh round – taking place in Gameweek 19 – will be announced in due course, along with important Quarter-Final news.

Congratulations to this week’s winners, and commiserations to those leaving the competition at this stage.

to rub salt in the wound of my gash week I have just noticed that I tied my fantasy cup game 39 all. We scored the same amount of goals and taking into account his extra midfield cleanie ill be going out. Does anyone know if they include midfield cleanies. i guess they do...it doesnt say if eaither of us have won yet. The alternative is a virtual coin toss..

History tells us that double GWs don't always bring big returns.

Remember Zigic and the Birmingham double GW?
Lots of people captained him. He got 2 pts or something.

It could happen again...Bale limps off injured in the 1st game.

I'll have 1 x Spurs and 1 x Everton and leave it at that.

Good thing about this week is that even if there was only 1 game Everton vs Bolton or Tott vs West Brom. You would still like to have some of their players. So no need to get carried away. But do you really want to go into that GW without any Everton or Tott players? Or even settle for just 1 or 2.

Alright boys and girls, need a bit of help if you may.

I finally realised I need Bale. To do Ramsey to Bale unfortunately Shawcross has to go for a 4 point hit. I know they both have good fixtures this week but I won't be able to afford Bale in the double game week other wise.

4.3 to spend on a defender - it has to be Shotton or McAuley right? If not , any other suggestions?

    Cheers

I really could do with getting Bale in this week. My midfield is: Silva, Mata, Valencia, Drenthe and Allen. Who should I get rid off for Bale, I could wait a week and do Mata but chelsea have nice fixtures, while city don’t

OK I know this has been asked several times but I feel I need to get Bale somehow for DGW, especially after losing 52-51 to both cup opponent and h2h opponent (both had Bale.)

Yeah the price rise is the big concern, although saying that... The next gameweek isn't too far away, and you could always suck up another slight rise then get him in on Friday, but yeah getting him in now isn't the worst idea in the world, just be prepared to be gutted if Silva goes mental.

Do it. Gallas has started the last 5 games since being back from injury so that would suggest to me that he's first choice (rather than people on here who think that because Kaboul and King were 1st choice when Gallas was injured, that they still are 1st choice).

Plus Bale is a must-have and Ramsey is a crappy FF player

I don't get why people suddenly feel desperate to go for players who randomly get a big haul.

Understandably they did well the match they played but often it is just a one-off, just like when people got the Yak in.

    Vorm
    Jones, Evans, Kompany, Woodgate
    Silva, Walters, Bale
    Sturridge, Van Persie(C), Adeboyer

    Subs: Tiote, Simpson, Feguson, Ruddy

Happy about both Midfield and Forwards...not so much my Defence.

I think Jones will be back playing and I'm putting Evans to play as (even though it's probably highly unlikely) if he does he's likely to get a clean sheet. Woodgate I'm not too sure about to be fair, if he plays he'll get a clean sheet likely though (this being from a Wigan fan too).

    Can't wait for the WC.

You won't be one of those people they have to send the Woodgate link to when you get on here asking, "How come Woodgate didn't play" When Wilko gets the cleanie? Will you?

Haha no, I wouldn't be surprised if Woodgate didn't play and somewhat expect it to be fair! Would swap him but have had to make other transfers and don't want to take a hit.

That being said, I don't want to take hits either and my line looks just as bad:

          Richards, Shotton, Wilkinson (Simpson, Evans)

I thoroughly expect Wilkinson to not even be on the bench, and have Simpson come in. I'm hoping for a 0-0 against Liverpool for Newcastle.

Ahh not too sure, I've just seen a few opposing opinions here as to whether Wilkinson will play, definitely best to have him on to play though, especially against Wigan.

I'm desperately awaiting the WC, only my second season doing FF and the defence is definitely an area I've struggled with, plus the team value as I've not made anywhere near as much as what many others have done.

Plus...Just go ahead and put Simpson as the first sub as Tiote will probably play for Walters who is due to be rested.

Ooh crap, I meant Nani instead of Walters! I'll probably put Simpson ahead of Tiote for subs-order though!

Evans won't play and you must trade Woodgate. He was good 10 years ago

Didn't think Evans would but thought I'd have him in just in the case he did, going to get rid of Woodgate either this week or when the WC is available, wanted to rid of him for ages but other transfers have had to take precedence.

He's got a thigh strain if memory serves, which as long as it isnt a serious one should be a couple of weeks tops.

Im not sure i would ignore a particular individual but i think its very important to not let other peoples views put you off making your own decisions. Use the info yes, but ultimately make your own call. I grow tired of people saying 'i didnt do this' or 'i did this' because so and so told me to.

Looking good for Jones. He missed the last game because of illness (not the facial injury) but Fergie is saying he thinks he'll be fit for B'burn.

The big question is, where will he play MF (please please) or CB.

I reckon CB with the injury crisis we have right now

still no closer to trades this g/week

have 2 freebies but only 0.2 cash

    vrom(ruddy)
    jones,kompany,jags(simpson,evans)
    silva,nani,bale,larsson(allen)
    rvp,ba,sturridge

thinking Ba > Ade & Larsson > Moses and play Simpson even though vs Liverpool. Am i ma bringing in the old Moses? Reckon Ba will get a rest. Other options include chopping Silva and Nani though i had Silva since gw 1 and got Nani last week due to great fixtures.. thoughts??

Sandro's agent: "Much has been said of the interest of Man Utd but Tottenham has not received any offers at this time."

Has anything been speculated? Anyway, hopefully something does happen. Would love Sandro, seriously good player

Would probably be quite expensive though unfortunately. Can see 'Arry selling though, he's not exactly indispensable and is probably the best we could get with PL experience.

Good player but I can think of a number of (realistic) players I'd prefer.

Probably top of the list of realistic targets would be Tiote for me

Made a second account for shits and giggles:

    Hart (Sorensen)

    Baines(v); Evra; Vermealen; Terry(c) (Shotton)

    Valencia; Dempsey; Drenthe; Sessegnon (Surman)

    Aguero; Yakubu (Helguson)

No players in common with my main team. Just all the players I havn't got the balls to take a punt on. If they start outscoring my main team i'll cry

Obviously in Fantasy terms he's a no-no right now.

But in answer to your question I think we could see him this weekend against B'burn. He's back in full training (was on the bench last week) and is pretty much needed to allow Valencia to play further up the field and Smalling to fill in at CB.
