As the official Fantasy Premier League version begun this week with over two million hopefuls, our very own Paddy Power Cup V was down the last 32. With no virtual coin toss nonsense to worry about here, let’s see how it panned out…

Top-score this week went to Mr Bungle, who battered Chris H 67 – 35. That was the widest margin of victory for the round by quite some distance.

In doubling his opponent’s score was, Declan came closest to that 32-point gulf, as he bossed lowest-scoring jinswick 44 – 22.

For the first time this season there wasn’t a single draw, with runty‘s 50 – 49 triumph over GreenWindmill the tightest affair.

Der-Hammer95 continued his fine form to reach the last 16 as the highest ranked fantasy manager in the tournament. His 54 – 38 drubbing of Peadarb was enough for another green arrow and 181st in the world.

The fixtures for the seventh round – taking place in Gameweek 19 – will be announced in due course, along with important Quarter-Final news.

Congratulations to this week’s winners, and commiserations to those leaving the competition at this stage.

    A.) Walters > Dempsey
    B.) Walters > Valencia
C.) Keep FT and do 2FT next week Vermaelen > Baines & Walters > Osman (Leaving me with 3 TOT & 3 EVE for DGW)

Either A or B would be good moves. I'd probably be inclined to keep Walters for this week though, home to Wigan. I think Dempsey will score well from now until the end of the season, so I'd probably take him over Valencia as you have Nani.

In my opinion, with Dempsey you have to be patient and take a long term view. He's a player who could do nothing in 3 easy games and then score really well when his fixtures are harder.

Is everyone agreed that Harry wont have to rest players in the double gameweek and will just use Cheltenham to give the main lot a break? At 9.7, im finding it difficult to ignore VDV.

Agree with Chinmusic. VDV is in the starting XI.

His no-show in 2nd half at Carrow Road though, gives Defoe a small chance to get in.

Why? Lennon's out, Harry doesn't rest players much, there's a big gap between games, he won't be needed for the FA Cup.

All that will stop him playing two is his hamstring.

Really dont know what to do this week.

I've been holding on to Rooney, and did VDV to Nani last week and lost out big time to those who brought in Bale. Already done Ba to Sturridge and the plan was to do Roo to Ade and Walters to Bale next week - no hits. But should I do it this week even though ManU are home to BBN and Spurs are away to Swansea?

Cant afford to slip any further.

Half-way through the season and Swansea has only conceded 3 at home.

Go to your country's ranking and press next......on the link you will see the number of the page. Change the number 2 and put higher numbers pressing enter after until you reach a page with no ranked players. Then put a lesser number until you reach the last page were the bottom ranked players are. That's the only way I figured out to find out. Hope it helps.

    Hi All

First season FPL and first time poster here 🙂

I have a number of questions, team linked (hopefully) and would like it if you could help me with choosing my trades for the upcoming week as I have a few injuries and a non playing player to get rid of.
Two free trades, £0.2M in the bank, should I change:

N Taylor -> Shotton (seems the most popular, but unsure of his place)
N Taylor -> Simpson (have Krul)
N Taylor -> Other (have Walker for DGW)
Gower -> Routledge, Moses or other…(Max £4.8 to spend if I do Shotton trade above)

Does any of the above look OK, or should I do something with Evans (keeping Jones) as well as N Taylor.

By the way, thank you all for your fantastic advice, I have appreciated every recommendation and look forward to adding comments myself.

Thanks for your comment The Bad, yeah, I did have Kompany at the start, thought he was a season keeper as well (along with Silva), until he stopped getting CS's. Got rid for Jones and now I see he's got a few BP's since then...

Could still change back if needed, or swap with Vermaelen but at the moment I like the look of Jones OOP and with ManU's injury worries he will start next week (I think).

Hello NZ. That's a cracker of a first post.

Your team is strong, I'd probably get Shotton for Naylor and Moses for Gower, should see you reaching the free wildcard gameweeks safely even if rotation hits you badly.

The other thing you could do is get SÖrensen for Krul, unless you want to keep Krul in the longer run of course. Might earn you 4 or 8 points.

        Thanks Gargamel, much appreciated 🙂

There is something about Shotton that bugs me at the moment, hence why I haven't pulled the trigger on Naylor and I guess "2 point Moses" is better than "0 point Gower".

The Sorensen idea is something I haven't really contemplated, but thanks I still think Stoke are formidable at home so something to think about and will get me some Stoke defense without the rotation worries (well unless Begovic suddenly comes into favor)

Do you think Newcastle will continue to lose their CS's?

Wait until Friday and you'll have a better idea on Evans and Taylor's injuries. Taylor should be okay for gw19, Evans sounds dodgy.

Thanks Scratch, I appreciate your comment 🙂

I actually thought Taylor was going to play last GW, that's why I kept him. Good idea about waiting till Friday, especially as none of the players I'm interested in is looking likely to rise.

At the moment I have Taylor benched as I think TOT will score, so I am really looking to strengthen my benched players.

Evans, I know he's a bad player and I would easily swap him out, will consider later in the week (But with SAF's injury concerns I can see Evans playing if fit, and still keeping a CS!)

Difficult. Berbatov and Wellbeck could easily start v Blackburn which would push Rooney deeper.
Then again Nani could be rested.

If I knew both were starting i'd say Nani, but Rooney looks more assured of his place this week.

I've put it on Nani, but then I don't have Rooney. He only played 20 mins or so v Wigan so he'll be itching to get going, but I'd worried about how deep he might play. Much may depend on the defence (i.e. whether Jones is needed back there)

      Roon is a gamble.

Man Utd's epic defensive crisis has come at a terrible time for Rooney owners. This was supposed to be the 2 GWs where all the patience paid off. But now it looks like he might be needed in CMF. Very Grim

I'm going Nani as capt (but don't have Rooney)

    Thinking of:
This wk: Evans Ba > BAE Sturridge (-4pt hit)
Next wk: Yak Nani > Ade Osman (-4pt hit)
WC to get Nani back in for Bolton

I know Yak has a good run for GW20 on but I can't have Sturridge, Yak and Ade as RVP is a keeper so I might option for Samba for Blackburn's decent run instead....thoughts???

Alright here's some things which are puzzling me.

Who's more likely to have a decent week Rooney or Aguero? Rooney's got blackburn at home, Aguero is away to a Martin Oneill Sunderland. I fancy Rooney but can imagine seeing him rested. However SAF does like his goal difference, I can imagine him pushing for another romp against Blackburn.

Also, now Segnesson is playing in the hole is he a better for regular points than Larsson? bit cheaper too.

And finally, peeps have talked about Gallas, who I'm considering but what's his playing likelyhood for DGW? I'm tempted to reckon quite high but have lingering doubts.

How's about an ol' yellow flag for Demba Ba since he's a doubt for Pool with a knee injury then?!

It'd make me feel slightly better about transferring out the league's in-form striker if I knew there was a nice mass exodus in favour of Sturridge.
