Arsene Wenger is giving little away regarding the likelihood of Robin Van Persie’s start against QPR. Meanwhile, Alex Ferguson prepares to patch up his defence once again ahead of the visit of Blackburn, with Chris Smalling set to miss out and Phil Jones in line to return.

There’s no such injury concerns for Roberto Mancini, who will surely be shuffling his pack like a demented Paul Daniels ahead of two matches in the space of six days. The rest of the Premier League managers are left to play with far more limited options, but Fantasy managers still look set to enter a gameweek of uncertainty – nervously scanning their bench to assess the reserves on standby.

All the team news ahead of tonight’s 7.30pm Fantasy Premier League deadline has been collected and collated over in our Team News section, along with our predicted lineups.

We will update this as we go, keeping you informed on the latest via our Twitter feed.

The Scout Picks are up next…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So hardly the right player for AVB if he is trying to overhaul an ageing squad. Wonder why he's being linked to Chelsea then...

and? The last 27year signing was Torres. That went out well, Fergie has that kind of rule too not more than 27. Berba and Owen exceptions

I wouldn't call 27 old. Plenty of transfers of players over 27 years old work fine. That's not to say I think Krasic would do well.

He started well at Juve last season but it didn't last long. No real point considering the implications of the transfer at the moment since it's just a rumour though I think he would be backup for Mata/Sturridge.

Is Wenger that horrible to ruin Arseanl whole season and to miss CL next year. He won't be able to sleep for 4 years if RVP brakes a leg or something. He is still young plenty of chances after. He will give him 30min and that is it

He can break his leg in any match regardless. He should play and be taken off once things are wrapped up. Wenger will get blasted if he doesn't start RVP and they don't get anything from the game.

Pretty sure he cares more about top 4 and not chasing a meaningless record that will mean nothing come May. Any Arsenal fan can see he needs a rest, and QPR is a logical game to do it in. Arsenal are more than capable of getting 3 points without him vs QPR and that's what matters in the grand scheme of things.

Why City has no injuries? Because of the rotation for the squad. More you play more chance a injury to happen. He made a mistake with Wilshere, overplayed him and this is Robin Van Porcelain that we are talking about. No man is bigger than the club

RVP doesn't pick the team, nor is he 10 years old.
you can have a 75% sharp RVP v QPR and then a 50% sharp RVP 2 days later away at fulham. or you can bench him for QPR and have a 100% sharp RVP away at fulham. and that's not even going into increased risk of injury in fatigued muscles etc etc. QPR at home is on paper easier than fulham away. plus RVP was noticeably flagging in the second half v wolves. only adrenaline and desperation for a winner got him through it and prevented wenger taking him off

My defence is Jones, Evans, Enrigue, Raylor, Wilkinson - not very promissing ha?
I'd be happy if one of Evans / Wilko would play, but maybe I'll play safe and move Evans out for Baines or Walker. No hit involved.

the best striker in the league
all the motivation in the world
    at home
against a promoted side that i would argue will be lucky to stave off relegation

and im NOT giving him the armband? What cause i worry about being rested? Meh. I need to rethink this, he could really do something special this weekend. I dont think he will feature for less than 30 minutes if he features at all, and i still like what he can potentially do in 30 minutes given the circumstances and the aforementioned motivation.

ARMBAND SWITCH, you get it RVP. Hell or high water.

thoughts? ramblings of a madman who has quickly realized Madden is impossible to play with Tebow at QB?

I feel Swanseas "fortress" at home will collapse in the forthcoming weeks. Doubt they will let in more than a couple each time - scoring will be the main problem.

Can't see Spurs getting more than a couple, but Bale will most certainly be involved in at least one of them. Is this enough to give him the armband? Hard to say...

I have just enough funds to swap Taylor/Evans for Caulker/Gallas for GW 20.

Want to have 3 spurs players for DGW and given that an Evans fall or Gallas rise is on the horizon, should I do the transfers tonight before 9 other fixtures play and hope for the best or wait out in case of injury/suspension to other players?

kaboul and king are spurs first choice CBs. gallas will cover for the obligatory 1 game miss by king at best

i dont understand the whole thing about football players needing rest

if i play a futball game today .. go home sleep and rest the whole next day .. i am ready to play again at my full potential

why do professional players need so much rest ?

SAF lies. Every time he speaks.

He wanted to give Lindegaard a run - and it hasn't exactly proven to be a disaster.
