You might have noticed that Fantasy Football Scout has continued to grow this season. Hopefully, this will continue into next term and, with ideas and plans forming week on week, I’ve decided it’s time to look to add at least one new member to our team of contributors.

We’re looking for a writer to join Sir Paulos’ editorial team – someone who can commit their time and enthusiasm to the site, take charge of a section and make it there own. Hopefully someone who can grow with us and help us into another exciting season of development.

Ideally we’re looking for someone who…

Has a knowledge and passion, not just for Premier League football but for Fantasy Football. You will have opinions and be able to back them up with enthusiasm.
Is willing to volunteer and contribute their passion and their time to become an invaluable member of a growing editorial team.
Has good, strong writing skills with the ability to produce tight, entertaining editorial – in line with the house style, but with a twist of personality.
Is available to contribute opinions throughout the week and at weekends, helping to shape decisions and editorial direction within the Scout team.
Is available to contribute articles on a weekly basis and be prepared to take charge of an established section of the site, making it their own and working in collaboration with the team to grow it further.

If you feel you’d like to put yourself forward for this role, please send a short summary of yourself, along with a sample of your writing to writers@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

If you don’t have any samples of writing available, please supply a Watchlist article – of a player of your choice, written to our template, an example of which can be found here.

This process is typically lengthy and it’s likely that Sir Paulos and I will be looking at applications from now right through until the end of January. Please be patient with us, we will try to get back to applicants as soon as possible and we will keep you up to date with the process via the site as we go.

      So if not back for the home game against Villa (Feb 5, which GW24 and end of WC), you wouldn't rush him in for the game at Spurs the following GW.
      However, with 3 of their next 4 (starting Feb 25) being home to Wolves, Sunderland and Norwich you could definitely make room for him again from GW26.

      starting GW24, if you look at a 4-6 game run of fixtures for all the top clubs besides city's, and then look at city's. They have a massively easier schedule. Kompany/Richards, Silva, and Aguero will be 1st on my WC teamsheet, though aguero is the only one missing now.

  Evans, Kelly, Shotton all unreliable starters. You're very top heavy on strikers and Rooney might be a midfielder for a while for little return. What about Sturridge, Ba, Graham, Long, Yakub etc?

    Fixtures do turn from GW22 and not so thrilled by Ade form with current easier fixtures so he's not top priority - have some alternatives below that allow me to have Nani if required. Still, had Nani for some of his hot streaks and some of his barren ones and am not convinced united are stable enough to get him consistent.

    Actually Vorm/Sorenson rotate fairly average - I count 5/8 good GK fixtures there from GW22. Because I had both before rises they are close to the cheapest though and still offer decent returns...

  Thanks for feedback. Never done top heavy before so testing idea. Convinced Richards, Evans, Caulker are nailed on. Kelly and Shotton ~80% sure, both seem in favour after improved CS records with them. Shotton 's recent absence looks like a festive rest, he is being played OOP at RM after all. Will monitor their nailed-on-ness before committing.
  
  Could consider a cheaper striker for Rooney but feel the midfield is returning and he will be pivotal in the customary post Christmas charge. Alternatives I'm considering in order are Sturridge, Odemwingie, Yak, Morison, Best, Graham.

    That's a fair call IMO - I think you're safe going with 2-3 of those cheap link types if you have two reliable, more expensive guys to go with them (ie. Richards, Kompany, Enrique, Jones).
    
    Just seems too many question marks with the lineup you're proposing.

      Yeah cheers, have Enrique already - Pool don't have best fixtures for defence though so tricky. If I drop Rooney Jones has to come in. One other alternative is Verm or even Luiz but don't trust either defence atm.

  Not really. Hard to put Agbon and Studge ahead of RVP, Ade and Rooney imo.
  
  Likewise with Dempsey. How would you have him ahead of Bale, Silva and Nani? Dempsey has plenty of goal attempts - more than any other mid - but plenty go astray. A bit of a nearly man imo.

  You van get Valencia for .5 less tahn Dempsey, if you're quick! Agnonlahor, dunno. One of those players who looks class in a game but the FF points don't reflect that.

doing sess->drenthe a couple GWs ago, which is actually like 5 days ago, will probably be my worst transfer of the season. Sometimes you get unlucky and bring in somenone who gets hurt. But this was just a poor decision. I rated sess highly, have had him for a while. Just DGW nonsense there. And that picture that keeps replaying in my head of drenthe charging past everyone with the ball and looking dangerous, but that dream isnt going to materialize.

        mata is not an fpl player...he is only expensive because he plays for chelsea but IMO he should be in the 8-8.5 price range...And hes also not captain material either. He will rarely get you double figures

Follow up to Lazybones question earlier as to how long have you been playing fpl? How many years have you been playing fantasy football full stop? If I remember rightly, the game was originated by 90 minutes magazine (presumably adapted from the NFL games). I played the very first game. It was when I was in middle school, so must have been sometime between 1988 - 1992. That means I have been playing football for more than a decade!! Can anyone beat that? Playing for that long, and putting in the hours that I do, I should be a lot better than I am. I'd appreciate anybody going through my history and seeing where I have been going wrong!! Cheers!

        Ha. I was a bit confused about the magazine bit! I've been a semi serious player for a good few years. Always there or there abouts in my mini leagues. Only got really serious since I found this site last year though. Now i think that I am officially addicted. Still can't seem to make the step up from a decent player (top 50,000 last season) to a good player (top 10,000). Anyone got any tips?

  i doubt that. I have both evans+lindegaard along with nani. I will start lindegaard most weeks except when vorm is at home.

  I dont worry about Aguero at 11M when you bought Adebayor at 8M. use 3m to upgrade elsewhere is not so bad. look at total scores of Aguero and Adebayor.

      RVP helped my cause a lot especially since I got him after United's 8-2 thrashing. He was a huge differential at only 3% and he made my big push into the top 10k early on.

    SNUBYA, I had Rooney for weeks and having another 4 mil def will not help me to upgrade Aguero to Rooney. But I'm still also not sure about Clark so if you have any other def that fit in with 4.8 M budget that I have, I would really apprecieate your in put.   I think you may lack in Man U cover in Attacking areas. Nani, Rooney, or Valencia?? Skrtel and Jose won't be much diff in change don't know that you can perhaps save some budget in keepin jose in place. Who will be your bench in your def?? I think you over invested in your Def, you can get much better Midfield or upgrade Yakubu to a more elite Fwd. ?? Just a couple of small thoughts for you 🙂
