You might have noticed that Fantasy Football Scout has continued to grow this season. Hopefully, this will continue into next term and, with ideas and plans forming week on week, I’ve decided it’s time to look to add at least one new member to our team of contributors.

We’re looking for a writer to join Sir Paulos’ editorial team – someone who can commit their time and enthusiasm to the site, take charge of a section and make it there own. Hopefully someone who can grow with us and help us into another exciting season of development.

Ideally we’re looking for someone who…

  • Has a knowledge and passion, not just for Premier League football but for Fantasy Football. You will have opinions and be able to back them up with enthusiasm.
  • Is willing to volunteer and contribute their passion and their time to become an invaluable member of a growing editorial team.
  • Has good, strong writing skills with the ability to produce tight, entertaining editorial – in line with the house style, but with a twist of personality.
  • Is available to contribute opinions throughout the week and at weekends, helping to shape decisions and editorial direction within the Scout team.
  • Is available to contribute articles on a weekly basis and be prepared to take charge of an established section of the site, making it their own and working in collaboration with the team to grow it further.

If you feel you’d like to put yourself forward for this role, please send a short summary of yourself, along with a sample of your writing to writers@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

If you don’t have any samples of writing available, please supply a Watchlist article – of a player of your choice, written to our template, an example of which can be found here.

This process is typically lengthy and it’s likely that Sir Paulos and I will be looking at applications from now right through until the end of January. Please be patient with us, we will try to get back to applicants as soon as possible and we will keep you up to date with the process via the site as we go.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    I'm WCing for GW22.

I'm doubling up on cheapo defenders for the first time ever...I think.

    Fulham/ WBA (Kelly/Senderos and McAuley/Shorey)

...........the benefits of membership really come to the fore around WC time.......

Then again, I'm probably mad.......the four above along with Kompany....

Yes I know it was only 1 game but RVP looked sluggish against Fulham. He will probably get a rest against Leeds but maybe the rigours of the PL are catching up with him? Would free up so much cash if you threw in a differential striker. Bent shouldnt be discounted second half of season, nor Hernandez, Zamora, Ruiz. Depends how much risk you want to take.

I would be taking a huge risk in downgrading RVP to Bent, Ruiz, Zamora etc.
            That would be FPL suicide!

Its an option to consider over the next few gameweeks. I think an RVP injury would be quite good for the game in general, people looking elsewhere (obv rooney and aguero) but some players (ie bent) will go on a scoring run

I'm thinking Kompany Jones Richards (expensive but good solid returns and bp potential) and two dirt cheap decent rotationers should the aforementioned get a knock/rested

I think what would be useful, as well as the Watchlist, would be a Sell/Avoid list

That is, a detailed review highlighting why players that may look good on paper (ie good total score so far/playing for a good team) should not be transferred in or should be sold because their fixtures/form/recent injury record is crap

Rooney, Jones, Drenthe and Donovan to come tomorrow. Bolton was the fixture I hoped that Drenthe would play in but it seems a lot of people on here say he won't play, is there any source saying he won't or is because he wasn't in the squad against West Brom?

No source I've seen. Just hunches and rumours. But look at the guys history and through injury and just simply being dropped, the guy aint played many minutes so it isnt looking great (and this is from a frustrated Drenthe owner)

Moyes gave an interview where he said Drenthe couldn't really defend and was thus not suitable for away fixtures against attacking teams. Not playing against Brom away is somewhat consistent with this, although it's said he was ill too. If available you would expect him to start v Bolton by Moyes ' logic. But rumour is he's ill for that too. And by Moyes logic he will be dropped away to Spurs. I only have him for the DGW, will get rid of this liability ASAP.

    * Note this will obviously change if Gallas and J Evans arent fully recovered and back in their teams after their knocks/shenannigans

J Evans Gallas Enrique Caulker Simpson

If like many you bought Enrique & Simpson a while ago then that DF costs a little above 22mil. There is coverage from some big teams- Utd, Pool & Spurs (who have been defensively very good this year) plus the surprise packages- Newc & Swans

There is also some other good cheapies knocking about to do straight swaps with if there is a big drop in form or another cheapie rises from nowhere to become a 'must have' (i.e Shotton, Kelly, Senderos, McAuley, Gabbidon etc....)

Obviously you are missing out on potential big scores from Komp, Jones & Richards. But the money saved can be spent getting your MF and ATT looking sh*t hot and allows for more big hitting players who are viable capt options like Nani, Silva, Aguero, RVP, Roon etc.....

I've had a cheap DF for a while (though not quite THAT cheap) and it's actually served me well. Just wish I'd spent the money I saved a bit better. πŸ™

    Thoughts?

Even if he is fit I don't think gallas is nailed on once Dawson returns so I would take him out for senderos..I do am going to go with a cheap the defence Enrique/Richards my only one above 4.5 or so

Yeh true, Dawson will come back in and it will be straight fight between Gallas and Kaboul for the other CB.

I am also considering Jones instead of Gallas which will push the value up a few mil but would be money well spent if he's back in MF soon

I really like it if I'm honest..I'm surprised my how the midfield still quite good with the amount you have spent up front.

Only thing I would say is that mayb one of silva/aguero is enough?

i don't know, they could be explosive together, as could valencia and rooney, but i feel im risking a lot of good things in defence

also aguero could get dropped for cheaper very easy if needs be, free up a lot of cash for almost anybody, maybe gerrard depending on how things go, wouldin't be worse than 4 point hit

    Wildcard team from wk 22

    Lindegaard/Kenny
    Enrique/Shawcross/Brown/Caulker/Senderos
    Gerrard/Bale/Dempsey/Sessegnon/Pilkington
    RVP/Aguero/Adebayor

Pilkington could change to Hoolahan depending on who looks more nailed on.

If it is an 8 week team specialise it for those 8 GW's, for example, double up or triple up on defences with good fixtures.

Silva is not a necessity, why pay 10.5m for a player who you'll never captain

Go easy if you've had enough of ol'Royston tonight, but Moyes is so uptight when it comes to team news that it would come as no surprise if Royston at least made the bench?

Also, whats with all the sick bugs! Larrson annoyed me! this happened much in previous FPL seasons?!

News from the everton forum is that he's not in the squad. I reckon he'll come on for the last 17 minutes of the SPurs game to keep all our Dyers and Taylors on the bench

Possible WC Team, what do you think?

Vorm, Stockdale (Schwarzer when he returns)
    Enrique, BAE, Senderos, Simpson, Caulker
    Silva, Bale, Valencia, Gerrard, McClean
    RVP, Ade, Bellamy

Just toying around with the squad, Valencia and Gerrard could be Nani and Dempsey instead. Bellamy or Sturridge. RVP or Rooney.

    So many options..

But I've just noticed the double up on Fulham and Swansea defence, though they do rotate fairly well to the end of the season. Back to the drawing board.

    Any advice?

Ok so i'm hitting the confirm button, for now i have this:

    Krul (Vorm)
    Jones Kompany Simpson (Shotton, Senderos)
    Valencia Bale Dempsey Silva (Gower)
    Yakubu RVP Aguero

Only got .1 left over, so Gower was in at 4.5, not much else floating about in that price range....

Take a punt on McClean at 4.5 for Sunderland?
Looks to have found a starting place under MON.

Cheap Swansea mids are prone to rotation too.

      Looks alright though πŸ˜‰
