Our Player Projections in the Members Area have now been updated for the half-season period. These now offer our view on the predicted returns from Gameweek 21 to the end of the season, giving some further assistance for those still to play their January Fantasy Premier League wildcards.

These projections use various factors, including past performance and historical data, the difficulty of fixtures facing each player and current form. Members can sort the table by any of the data columns, including total points for the season, projected points from Gameweek 21 onwards and projected value based on these returns.

They will be updated leading up to the Gameweek 21 deadline this weekend, should any injury or transfers come to light – the only pending transfer currently included in the tables is Gary Cahill’s seemingly inevitable move to Stamford Bridge. Just to be clear, these projections won’t be updated after the Gameweeek 21 deadline. Much like the pre-season projections, they provide a snapshot view.

As mentioned earlier, half-season memberships are now available for just £10. This will give users access to these projections along with the Opta player and team statistics, the full season ticker and exclusive Members articles.

Click here for further details of what’s on offer.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Im a newcastle fan and he should be nailed on but it is hard to drop simpson or raylor. Simpson has a knock so Santon might get a chance to cement his place. After the Blackburn game Pardew made comments about how well Santon and Jonas play together so kinda has me leaning towards santon playing LB at QPR simpson if fit play RB and Raylor on RW..if not Raylor RB and HBA or Gosling RW

I expect HBA to start all games in when Ba is away..he looks like he is now our main threat..Ameobi is sluggish and Best just cant seem to keep a run of form going..i expect HBA to start RW if we play 4 4 2 or play as support striker in a 4 4 1 1. Pards has recently said things like we will change our game to fit HBA and suit his style while Ba is gone. After his last 2 performances and publicly asking the manager for starts i cant see him being benched this gw

Edging towards it - Raylor's free kicks and our strong defensive start to the season prolonged his temporary stay at LB. Santon is eventually talking the position for himself. Raylor will drop to the bench as he should do as he's poor defensively.

On the other hand, Williamson is dead certain to start unless we buy a new CB (unlikely!) and is a threat from set pieces at the same price so maybe he's a better option.

Cool, well I currently have Simpson actually. Would you recommend I stick with him then (if he's not injured)? I don't really want to go for Williamson but if it's my only safe option this weekend I'll do that.

The thing with Santon is that I guess he could get many more assists than Simpson... is that right?

both have faults, the 2 ultra cheap mids in team a and the 2 ultra cheap forwards in b, can you downgrade Nani to Valencia, Jones to Evans and swap Fletcher for Aguero or Ade?

RVP Rooney Aguero is a tempting proposition, but like me the first thing you probably thought was "how do I stop my defence and mid from being sh*t?". There is a way - rotating Sunderland and Newcastle. Why?

    1. They have cheap, pointscoring and above all nailed-on defenders and mids.
    2. They're in the same city so always play at home on different weeks thus they automatically rotate (and pretty damn well as I you'll see below)
    3. They are both in good form. Newcastle's defence has been a revelation this year and with the exception of Saylor are all fit again - they just kept a CS against United. Not to forget they also put 3 past them. Sunderland are improving so rapidly under the O'Neill effect that they recently kept a CS in a win over City. Their attack has also flourished, winning 4-1 last time out. Expect more highs under O'Neill.
    4. There are no credible cheap rotation alternatives for defenders and mids - London fixtures don't necessarily rotate because the city is much bigger. AVL/WBA/WOL can't be justified on form and don't rotate so well anyway, nor LIV/EVE because they're too expensive and not doing well either.

    DEFENSIVE BARGAINS:
SUN: Brown (4.5) is the reliable and cheap option. Bardsley (4.8) has provided assists for a little more. The real bargain is Kilgallon (4.0) who seems to have won O'Neill's approval with consecutive starts.
NEW: Simpson (4.4) and Williamson (4.2) are nailed on for the foreseeable future. Santon (4.2) is looking like winning a permanent LB place and possibly offering attacking potential.

    MIDFIELD BARGAINS:
SUN: Sessegnon (6.5) and Larsson (6.9) are both big proven pointscorers high up in mid rankings. There is an abundance of dirt-cheap scoring mids to choose from though with Colback (4.9), Vaughan (5.1) and flavour of the week McClean (4.5) offering extreme value and surprisingly goals.
NEW: Cabaye (5.9) has intrigued all season with 2 goals, 4 assists, not to mention 7 CS, at a low price. He's on freekicks and scored one against United last week. Also present is what I view as perhaps the best fifth mid in the game - in the absence of Ba and finally back from injury, I expect huge bargain Ben Arfa (5.4) to establish a starting place - he's hard to ignore with his recent sub goal against Bolton and a Messi-esque wonder goal in the FA Cup.

    ROTATION OF FIXTURES:
Newcastle and Sunderland play home on alternate weeks. I've bracketed the good fixtures - on several occasions both have a good one allowing you to play both and take the pressure off the rest of your cheapies. I've divided the campaign into two periods - a great GW21-GW30 when you need only play the top six in 2/10 matches (and the weakest of the top six at that!) and a tougher GW31-38 when you play the top six in 4/8 matches. This allows you to adapt if required.

    GW21-30

Yeah there you are, there's both NEW/SUN and FUL/STO rotation there. I will pick Richards too. Unlike FUL/STO though you can rotate NEW/SUN in mid too. All in all, a NEW/SUN/FUL/STO defence with a NEW/SUN 4th/5th mid is my ideal team.

Getting Brown into my wildcard team and then dumping him in anger in several weeks has already become a tradition for me this season. I've done it twice already (free wildcard in GW2 and normal wildcard in GW9). Now I have another wild card. Can't believe you're talking me into getting him in for the third time!

Great post but Fulham and Sunderland are not exactly defensively sound, granted they rotate well but rotating 2 point returns at this stage is not ideal at the crunch time of the season.

The top two will tighten up, if they want to win the league then they will have to, around midtable and the bottom it will be a free for all.

Defence is just as important as attack, the clean sheets for the top teams are coming.

Yeah I'll get Richards and possibly Evans to cover the top teams. Sunderland have not been defensively impressive this season but that was mostly under Bruce, MON has noticeably tightened them up and is famous for keeping it tight. So 2 defs from top 2 plus 3 good rotaters is a good compromise. Main point is you can also rotate in mid - not always considered.

Yeah, I plan to rotate Sessengon and Ben Arfa in midfield, keeps the bench strong too.

Not a fan of ultra cheap bench fodder now, been caught out too many times this year when real managers decide to rest key players that eat up our virtual budget.

Dempsey, Sessengon and Ben Arfa are all in for me an interchangeable, only gonna run with two cheapies at the back and double up on City as I reckon out of all the teams they will get the most clean sheets as their fixtures dictate.

Yeah I have considered double City at back but want Aguero and Silva. It's a compromise, the gamble is that if I have Richards and Evans I will only need to have one more good def out of 3 rotating. I won't pick any rotating def about which I have any reasonable doubts on nailed-on-ness so decent chance, might even be enough to cover Evans occasionally missing out.

Im also going with Evans, I'm not worried if he misses the odd game, their fixtures will be tricky in the next few weeks but his price is so cheap that you have nothing to lose, that's also another reason why I'm staying clear of enablers, my bench will be called upon through real life rotation so want it strong within reason.

For a 1 week punt you might as well double up imo. At home to Stoke is as good a time as any.

I'll go through it in full:

        Sorensen / Given
        Enrique / Senderos / Williamson / Caulker / Brown
        Silva / Moses / Dempsey / M Davies / Bale
        Aguero / RVP / Rooney

Plan to play Enrique most weeks and to rotate 2 of the other 4 defenders. Same goes for Moses and Davies.

doubt it. they can rotate well not mean they can score well. Cabaye scored 10p vs ManU but just 2p vs Blackburn, Sess scored 1p vs Blackburn but got 6p vs Man City.

we should rotate defence depend on fixtures, not attacker. i'd rather have 4 good Mid and use money to upgrade elsewhere
