With the elongated Gameweek 20 finally sewn up, it’s time to look ahead to the weekend action. For eight fantasy managers, that means Quarter-Final time in the Paddy Power Cup V. Having battled through eight stages, they are just one win away from the prize-winning games. Here is the line-up…

1Sc8tt26Vs.Funkyav
2DeclanVs.Raasclart
3CSKA AWFULVs.sleepingmaster
4soulman27Vs.ChickenDevil

At the time of writing, first out of the hat Sc8tt26 is the highest-ranked fantasy manager left, and is the only one in the top 1000 overall. If he’s considered the top-seed, then he’s been drawn against the second in Funkyav. Was it not for an abysmal Gameweek 20 score, the tables would be turned and Funkyav would be the man to beat.

Declan faces-off against Raasclart, whilst the last round’s top-scorer, CSKA AWFUL, takes on sleepingmaster. Finally, having reached the Quarters by the skin of his teeth, ChickenDevil comes up against soulman27.

I’m sure you’ll all join me in wishing our Quarter-Finalists the best of luck. I’ll bring you the results shortly after the Gameweek has concluded.

Wondering about using the wildcard this round.

    Vorm, Howard
    Richards, Enrique, Simpsons, Naylor, BAE
    Bale, Silva, Nani, Walters, Dyer
    RvP, Sturridge, Adebayor

Used my only transfer on Kompany–>Richards, but thinking about using the wildcard too since Sturridge and Silva is yellowflagged. But I want to get ride of BAE and Adebayor too, but after Wolves at home. Any thoughts??

So we all know now never to go near any Everton players. It was a case of once bitten twice shy for the double - please see my week 2 disaster for further evidence if you are not convinced.

Based on when King or Gallas are fit they play. Kaboul has also been outstanding and it would be a shock for him to dropped for Dawson, quite frankly.

Gallas has been on the bench 'when fit' plenty of times for Kaboul and King soo..?
Also, Dawson has started every game when he has been fit

Anyway, Dawson is vice captain. Ledley King is the club captain and another bad thing about Dawson is he's only just returned from injury and could easily get injured again.

ARSENAL sunderland CHELSEA west brom NORWICH

Ben Arfa and Santon for me! Like the rest of your team too, I assume BAE is going after Wolves?

Thinking of playing my wildcard this week although I do have 2 FTs.

    Current team is:
    Westwood - Vorm
Jagielka - Jones - BAE - Jose Enrique - De Laet
    Sinclair - Drenthe - Silva - Valencia - Bale
    RVP - Sturridge - Adebayor

    Thinking of doing:
    Lindegaard - Vorm
    Shotton - BAE - Williamson - S Kelly - Jose Enrique
    Bale - Dempsey - Moses - Silva - Valencia
    Sturridge - Aguero - RVP

Either way I need to get rid of the Everton players I foolishly brought in for the DGW.

Does the wildcard team look any good to you guys? Is the defence too weak?

    Alll opinions are appreciated 😀

I would not pick Man City players at present - not without Kompany and Silva in the short term...

    Mmmm what to do?

Got Simpson, Silva & Studge all doubts for the next game. Plus on the bench I have Naylor (v Ars), Walters & Shotton (v Pool) who I dont really want to come on in their place.

I could live with one of them out I suppose but if all 3 don't make the game then I've lost some form players with great fixtures and my score will no doubt suffer.

Should I use my WC? Should I take a hit? (0FTs) Should I get out my Roseary beads and pray?

And out of nowhere BAE tops the defenders list!

I know it sounds a little bit knee-jerky now, but I'd like to have BAE in my WC despite their run of fixtures. It's between him and Jones for me -> TOT are on a run, BAE is 1m cheaper + nailed on and they keep loads of CS at home. Do you agree or do I need to rethink?

Having BAE for WOLVES and WIGAN is a great idea, as long as you can bench him for Man City. My plan is to replace BAE with Vince K after the WIGAN game.

If Spurs play against Man City like Liverpool did and park the bus in the second half - there's no reason why BAE should be benched 🙂
