With the elongated Gameweek 20 finally sewn up, it’s time to look ahead to the weekend action. For eight fantasy managers, that means Quarter-Final time in the Paddy Power Cup V. Having battled through eight stages, they are just one win away from the prize-winning games. Here is the line-up…

At the time of writing, first out of the hat Sc8tt26 is the highest-ranked fantasy manager left, and is the only one in the top 1000 overall. If he’s considered the top-seed, then he’s been drawn against the second in Funkyav. Was it not for an abysmal Gameweek 20 score, the tables would be turned and Funkyav would be the man to beat.

Declan faces-off against Raasclart, whilst the last round’s top-scorer, CSKA AWFUL, takes on sleepingmaster. Finally, having reached the Quarters by the skin of his teeth, ChickenDevil comes up against soulman27.

I worried about my team for this week ; Sturridge, Evans and Silva a doubt, Kompany suspended, Vorm away to Arsenal and Given injured, do I play my wildcard or prey these players will play? Feel I’ve left it too late now as I’ve missed the price rises but want to field a team who will play.

Your advice is much appreciated.

      It depends on where he plays, but wide I think the pitch time will be shared with obertan or if he plys off the front man he will probably share piptch time with best or shola.

Great to hear Sturridge is back but a word of warning - Sunderland is gonna be an extremely tough match, forget a thrashing, a single goal win would be the likeliest scenario. They've definitely tightened up and become more dangerous under MON.

Playing Sturridge because I'm unsure about Yak.

  Better to have Enrique / Richards in place of Kompany until Kompany ban is over. Then use a free transfer (you get one a week) to bring in Kompany in his place. Kompany price should also drop as he wont play during his ban and you might get a bargain for his quality...

  Thing is, they are 'generic' for a reason. Everyone on here can see the fixtures and knows the form, so if you're wildcarding at the same time as lots of other people, your team is going to be very similar to those people.

Wish me luck guys in the cup (my team lonked).. I am so lucky that it wasnt last weeks scores that counted for quarter finals as I was away for new year and forgot to make any changes.

        In the case, I'd probably agree with Heco below. If you're getting rid of Vorm in the wildcard, then you may as well do it now with one of your free transfers. He's the only weak link in that team, and he obviously isn't a very 'weak' weak-link!

    I've got 1 tranfer to blow this week and am considering getting Krul in for Howard ... if you're ditching Vorm with the wc it could be worth it but you're looking pretty strong!

  So hard to improve, but here's a thought.
  
  Ruddy+Moses to Stockdale/Mignolet and a cheaper mid? If you want Moses in the longer run you can get him back in the wildcard, and keeper is basically the only position where you could have better players. Not that good fixtures for those either this week but good next two
