A busy Saturday on the tightrope saw plenty of jostling for position in the rogues gallery with yellow cards for a number of familiar faces, and a significant red for long term Fantasy favourite, Yakubu.

Now into his tenth season in English football, the portly Nigerian has been as much a constant in the goalscoring charts as he has been absent from the disciplinary ones. However, guilty of planting a full set of studs on Danny Murphy’s knee in the 3-1 win over Fulham, ‘The Yak’ duly picked up his first Premier League red and will now sit out the next three Gameweeks (eve, NEW, ars).

In the yellow card stakes, Yakubu’s teammate Jason Lowe still leads the way having picked up 8 cautions in his first 19 games for the club, but with 3 games in the New Year now completed without adding to that tally he’s seen John Terry last week, and now Lee Cattermole draw level with him, following his booking in the 1-0 loss at Chelsea. All three now sit just 2 cards away from a two-match ban.

Yellow cards also for Everton’s Marouane Fellaini and Wolves’ Karl Henry bring them into the mix forming a fearsome quartet with Joey Barton and Gary Caldwell on 7 yellows for the season, while new faces joining the growing band on 6 bookings were Chelsea pair, David Luiz and Raul Meireles and the Stoke captain, Ryan Shawcross.

GAMEWEEK 22 BANS

  • Yakubu Aiyegbeni (BLA) – 1 Red for serious foul play (first of 3 matches)
  • Luis Suàrez (LIV) – FA charge (fifth of 8 matches)
  • Vincent Kompany (MCI) – 1 Red for serious foul play (third of 4 matches)

Morning fellow deadzoners. I'm guessing that most of you are based outside of the UK. I'm just about to settle down to watch last nights match of the day. Nobody knows really...
Non-Rooney owners say no, most Rooney owners say yes.
That said, I realised a few Rooney owners (Jamsiep, Bubbles) both say only 1 assist (Bubbles I think) whereas Jamsiep said definitely 0 assists he thought, but I haven't noticed many non-Rooney owners saying he'll keep either or both..

I think he could possibly get one. I dont see him keeping both. The second one is the one that looks more likely to be rescinded i think. Wheater definately kicked it. The first one could stand though. Very tight though.

If FPL wants to be consistent then they just have to follow through on what they did in GW11 when they gave an "assist" to Gervinho off a V Persie cross...it was doubtful whether Gervinho or the WBA defender touched the ball then too, but the rules are clear about any touch, so if Wellbeck touched it then its clear it goes to him..

So no one knows then. Pity we haven't got super slo mo on the incidents. I don't see the second one standing as it looks Wheater got the touch.

The only thing is that there is an element of doubt surrounding both assists which may easily work in Rooney's favour.

First time I'm posting this minor "miffed": I've got Bogdan on my bench. Started Vorm. Unlucky and all that.

I bought Bogdan a few weeks back in order to shoehorn in Nani (after his then-latest 14pt haul). Never expected him to do jack shit except ride the pine until my wildcard. Even played him one week just to see Vorm's points get autosubbed.

Twas a fine penalty save though. Good luck dead-zoners.

1st rooney assist is a fair one-pause at 0:38 it is clear enough if welback touches any of the ball...the ball would have never went away to the direction welback is trying to hit or straight to the scholsey

2nd rooney assist(not sure)-pause at 1:42 atleast it is 50 percent clear some part of rooney has been touched by the ball

Two frees. Highly tempted to get Sess in for Dyer. Have to do Ade as well to make it work.

As I'm playing the w/c in wk 24, who would make the best forward sub-8 million?

None really appeal. Fletcher has two home games but it's low flying Wolves. Crouch appeals but has Man U in the 23. Helguson has the fixtures but not the appeal. Anyone else?

I'm in the same boat but so few of those sub 8m forwards have both form and fixtures I'll probably bench Ade and play 3-5-2, with either Surman > McClean or Choppa > Fulham defender, if Choppa's still out.

I know Ade's been poor of late but the wide open spaces of that Wigan defence should suit him down the ground and it could be a cricket score.

I don't fancy united to get many cleansheets coming up so woudl suggest evra to verm. or cahill could be worth a shout. or downgrade to brown and have 4 rotating cheapies and then you could get in dempsey if you wanted or ba upon return

Very likely its China's idea. He had suggested Richards with MUN/STO/FUL/NEW rotation.

But I'd be surprised if China thought Evra & Huth were ubers.

WCing this week. Just a question about Man City defence. Is Lescott just as likely to start with Kompany out? Considering him instead of Richards because he's 0.2 cheaper and has less % owned. After Kompany returns I will bring him in.

How terrible was Scholes. The goal was a real saver for him 'cos he had an absolute shocker with position, passing and tackling. Awful.

This fella call Blapsd spent a little time slowing down the rooney assists yesterday (Abhishek, this is how you give credit to someone.. little tip for you... Now don't steal them and make out they are your's theres a good boy)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v.....e=youtu.be

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v.....e=youtu.be

Both clearly are Rooney the first one was curling away no touch made or nothing conclusive that would suggest you could take it away

The second one touched rooney last so its his..

Off to a meeting, thank me later

Yeah, that's what you should have done for this most recent one. Problem is, this isn't the first time you've done something like that. You copied & pasted another lengthy post of Isacki's a while back on here and got pulled up for it, and it seems you've done it before on the other site as well and had it pointed out that you shouldn't be doing it. Your plagiarism was a running joke on here before this latest incident.

Not seen the second one in slo mo like that. It's even harder to tell now. 😕 The only thing is that FPL have to be certain who touched the ball. I'm not sure it's very clear if that ball came off Wheater's right boot or Rooney's big left foot.

the last attacking player to touch the ball before anyone scores regardless the player from opposition touches outside the box or not is an assist in fpl!

Do Mata ➡ Lampard and Jones ➡ Senderos. If you want to take a hit (not needed) Do Shutton ➡ Caulker atleast he plays 90 mins and nailed on player.

Giggs doesn't play every week... nor even 90 mins per game most weeks... i would expect Scholes to play slightly less than him... so imho... No.... not nailed on... a rotation player there to help out and give others a rest

Qualifying scores so far this week.

    20% League = 24
    Millionaire Club = 23-24(no hits), 27-28(1 hit) & 30-31(2 hits)

Plenty in trouble including me due to Mr Rooney also. 🙁

I ended up activating my Wildcard. It is currently (* = previously held player):

    *Vorm Mignolet
    Richards *Enrique *BAE Evans *Simpson
    *Bale *Silva Dempsey Sessegnon Moses
    Aguero *RvP Morison
    (Nothing in bank)

Pretty happy with team - probably the 2nd keeper is an issue, but don't have a lot of cash for that spot to fit in the other players I got.
