Promoting Bobby Zamora as a Fantasy prospect is no easy feat. There is his injury record for a start. Then there’s a lack of confidence, which has blighted him for long stints throughout his career. He is also rumoured to have had a rocky relationship with his manager Martin Jol, who has left him out of the team for weeks at a time already this season. When he is full of confidence and injury free, has the faith of his manager and a string of beautiful fixtures, though, then the rewards can be huge.

Currently all four of those boxes are ticked. Seemingly back in favour with Jol, he looks set to add substantially to this season’s tally of 61, which includes two double-digit Gameweeks. After being left out for five weeks, apart from a six-minute cameo against Manchester United in Gameweek 17, he has played the full 90 minutes in Fulham’s last two games.

Jol is adamant Zamora is well-loved, even referring to him earlier this year as “my main striker.” This is a clear indication he is back in the fold. The Cottagers boss also insists Zamora’s prolonged absence over the festive period was purely down to an Achilles injury and refutes any suggestion of a spat.

Fixture-wise Fulham’s upcoming schedule seems hugely appealing, with the team traveling to QPR and hosting (NEW, WBA, STK) in the next five game weeks. In addition, Zamora also appears to be high on confidence right now; his last couple of gameweeks have seen him notch the winner against Arsenal and hit the woodwork.

It is also worth noting that with a points per game average of 4.4, he sits just 0.1 behind Clint Dempsey. The American is already a staple of many January wildcard teams, despite costing 8.5 compared to Zamora’s price tag of 6.6.

It may well prove to be a rocky ride for those Fantasy managers brave enough to join the 2.6% who have already selected the former Brighton, Spurs and West Ham striker. There’s little doubt his acquisition would be a definite punt, but he may well prove to be that key differential to help Fantasy managers soar up their mini-leagues like the seagull Zamora once was.

in case this was missed from last page/probably ignored on last page 🙂

This is my final WC team

    Vorm/ Kenny
    Richards/ Huth/ Enrique/ Simpson/ Senderos
    Silva/ Bale/ Dempsey/ Walters/ Dyer
    Aguero/ RVP/ Fletcher.

Pretty content BUT the only thing that concerns me is Walters/Dyer rotation.

Think Sess & Moses would be better but it leaves me 0.3 short, any suggestions on how to trim the squad down or should I leave it?

Maybe Kelly in for Senderos? I guess Baird could take his place but you'll want to play Richards/Enrique/Huth almost every week I'd imagine.

Similar to my team - Graham for Fletcher (not much difference and Graham rotates well with Walters for the next 5 weeks or so) maybe gives you an extra 1.3 to upgrade dyer + the extra 0.4 you could get from Senderos to Kelly + throw in Huth to Shawcross gives you enough for Sessegnon (or somebody) and, in my opinion, largely strengthens your team.

After more thought than a NASA shuttle launch, here's my WC team:

    Sorensen / Mignolet
    Simpson / Kelly / Caulker / Evans / O'Shea (no, really)
    Mata / Walters / Dempsey / Bale / Silva
Van Persie / Rooney / Graham

    0.8 in the bank

Mignolet and Sorensen have about as good a rotation as anyone apart from maybe Mig and Krul - With Simpson already in I can spread the defence to cover Stoke so worth having Sorensen in my opinion.

Having O'Shea lets me to take advantage of both Stoke and Sunderland's home fixtures this week and O'Shea has another good fixture next week.

Gameweek 24, Rooney becomes Aguero and O'Shea becomes Kompany / Richards in time for their good fixtures.

Fulham have good fixtures more or less for about the next 10 weeks.

Graham and Walters rotate nicely up until about GW 27.

    No idea who to Captain.

    FIN.

Blatantly. But it's a 2 week punt on the most nailed-on defender in the team with, arguably, the next best two fixtures for defensive points.

Anyone with Adebayor just benching him for this GW? I'm considering it myself due to his decent fixture in GW23 although his form is rather shocking.

    1. Jones & Drenthe > O'Shea & Sessegnon
    2. Drenthe & Adebayor > Dempsey & Crouch
    3. Drenthe & Adebayor > McClean & Crouch (would give me cash to upgrade Crouch for GW23)
    4. Jones & Adebayor > O'Shea & Aguero/Torres/Bent

    RMWCT

    Vorm Sorensen

    Richards, Raylor, Jones, Enrique, Kelly

Silva, Bale, Sessegnon , Valencia, Dyer

    Aguero, RVP, Sturridge

No money left over, I could keep BAE instead of Richards and have 1m. Little worried having Jones and Richards who are both injured atm, but want them long term.

If fit i think he's got the right wing ahead of pennant, but as he's on his way back he could be eased back slowly and subbed on later for a one pointer

WC Team I put together for price rises is actually looking attractive to me (and fletcher's the only one to pull off a double rise)

    Soresen (Vorm)
    Enrique, Simpson, Caulker (Richards, BAE)
    Silva, Bale, Valencia, Dempsey, Sess,
    RVP, Fletcher, (Morison)
    3.9 in bank

    Sorensen (Vorm)
    Enrique, Simpson, Senderos (Caulker, Kompany)
    Silva, Bale, Valencia, Dempsey, (McClean)
    RVP, Aguero, Fletcher
    0.9 in bank

    Basically:
    A) Richards, BAE, Sess, Morison
    B) Kompany, Senderos, McClean, Aguero

B probably gives me a stronger team for this week, and Aguero though, and was pretty much my original plan.

Just noticed Aguero has only failed to either score or assist in one home game this season, when they beat Arsenal 1-0. (C) may be swinging in his favour.

But i can't see him getting more than 1 goal or assist, is that enough upside to justify the armband.

Though you've almost persuaded me to bring him in, i doubt i'll Captain him, safe old VP for me
