Promoting Bobby Zamora as a Fantasy prospect is no easy feat. There is his injury record for a start. Then there’s a lack of confidence, which has blighted him for long stints throughout his career. He is also rumoured to have had a rocky relationship with his manager Martin Jol, who has left him out of the team for weeks at a time already this season. When he is full of confidence and injury free, has the faith of his manager and a string of beautiful fixtures, though, then the rewards can be huge.

Currently all four of those boxes are ticked. Seemingly back in favour with Jol, he looks set to add substantially to this season’s tally of 61, which includes two double-digit Gameweeks. After being left out for five weeks, apart from a six-minute cameo against Manchester United in Gameweek 17, he has played the full 90 minutes in Fulham’s last two games.

Jol is adamant Zamora is well-loved, even referring to him earlier this year as “my main striker.” This is a clear indication he is back in the fold. The Cottagers boss also insists Zamora’s prolonged absence over the festive period was purely down to an Achilles injury and refutes any suggestion of a spat.

Fixture-wise Fulham’s upcoming schedule seems hugely appealing, with the team traveling to QPR and hosting (NEW, WBA, STK) in the next five game weeks. In addition, Zamora also appears to be high on confidence right now; his last couple of gameweeks have seen him notch the winner against Arsenal and hit the woodwork.

It is also worth noting that with a points per game average of 4.4, he sits just 0.1 behind Clint Dempsey. The American is already a staple of many January wildcard teams, despite costing 8.5 compared to Zamora’s price tag of 6.6.

It may well prove to be a rocky ride for those Fantasy managers brave enough to join the 2.6% who have already selected the former Brighton, Spurs and West Ham striker. There’s little doubt his acquisition would be a definite punt, but he may well prove to be that key differential to help Fantasy managers soar up their mini-leagues like the seagull Zamora once was.

    to captain
sess, fletcher, RVP, nani (seriously last time i have him unless he produces), silva, bale, aguero.
seems sess or fletcher purely for fixture but other are always capable...

ok, i have studge just now but am considering Torres and Lamps. i need differentials big time in my mini leagues. most others have sturridge etc all the usual generic players so i need to take big risks the 2nd half of the season.

    Would anyone even contemplate swapping:
    a RVP>Rooney?
    b Nani>Valencia?

It frees up a lot of cash and I can see Rooney bagging some against Arsenal.

    Evans Enrique Cahill (Simpson, Caulker)
    Silva, Bale, Nani, Sess (Surman)
    Aguero, RVP, Torres

they are grim, but in my experience, thats when valencia rooney et al start to deliver. plus it is Jan, and against gooners M an U usually fire and if they're going to challenge city, they have to win these games so they'll attack.

I'm going into this GW with both VDV and Bale, not happy about that but ideally want both for Wigan GW after, worth keeping or should I flog one for Sess? - Otherwise I was going to swap BenAfa for Sess for a 4pt hit downgrading Hibbert to a 4.0 defender (Kelly?)

    should I stick to that?

Tough captain pick this GW, who would you be inclined to go for from

1 - Sturridge - good fixture, will he start?
2 - Walters - home comfort, heavily reliant on pens to get a haul
3 - Silva - mr consistent, almost certain to assist
4 - Nani - inconsistent, FPL wise. Up against injury hit Arsenal defence.
5 - RVP - he is RVP, dont want to captain a player against my own team

I'm going for 7 of your front 8, with Bale in for VdV.

Interesting back line, I've got Vorm/Sorensen who rotate better than Vorm/Mig I think.

And other than wigan after this week, BAE's fixtures aren't great, i'm either getting rid of him today/tomorrow or getting rid after he's risen once more within a fortnight or so for 0.1 extra.

The NEW/FUL/SUN back line rotation is good, but Bardsley seems a bit expensive as a rotation option.

If your set on Huth ( I like him, but i'm not sold on his price) then i'd swap Bardsley and BAE for A. Ferdinand and Richards if you can afford it
