Promoting Bobby Zamora as a Fantasy prospect is no easy feat. There is his injury record for a start. Then there’s a lack of confidence, which has blighted him for long stints throughout his career. He is also rumoured to have had a rocky relationship with his manager Martin Jol, who has left him out of the team for weeks at a time already this season. When he is full of confidence and injury free, has the faith of his manager and a string of beautiful fixtures, though, then the rewards can be huge.

Currently all four of those boxes are ticked. Seemingly back in favour with Jol, he looks set to add substantially to this season’s tally of 61, which includes two double-digit Gameweeks. After being left out for five weeks, apart from a six-minute cameo against Manchester United in Gameweek 17, he has played the full 90 minutes in Fulham’s last two games.

Jol is adamant Zamora is well-loved, even referring to him earlier this year as “my main striker.” This is a clear indication he is back in the fold. The Cottagers boss also insists Zamora’s prolonged absence over the festive period was purely down to an Achilles injury and refutes any suggestion of a spat.

Fixture-wise Fulham’s upcoming schedule seems hugely appealing, with the team traveling to QPR and hosting (NEW, WBA, STK) in the next five game weeks. In addition, Zamora also appears to be high on confidence right now; his last couple of gameweeks have seen him notch the winner against Arsenal and hit the woodwork.

It is also worth noting that with a points per game average of 4.4, he sits just 0.1 behind Clint Dempsey. The American is already a staple of many January wildcard teams, despite costing 8.5 compared to Zamora’s price tag of 6.6.

It may well prove to be a rocky ride for those Fantasy managers brave enough to join the 2.6% who have already selected the former Brighton, Spurs and West Ham striker. There’s little doubt his acquisition would be a definite punt, but he may well prove to be that key differential to help Fantasy managers soar up their mini-leagues like the seagull Zamora once was.

hey guys, after hours and hours of hair pulling i've finally come up with a team worthy of a
    RMWCT (i think)

    Vorm
    Raylor, Enrique, Cahill
    Mata, Sess (c), Valencia, Bale
    RVP, Aguero, Fletcher

    subs: Ruddy, Richards, Moses, Allen

2.2 in the bank, i reckon i coud bring in Cole for Cahill to be safe. maybe silva for mata.
    what do you guys think??
    Thanks 🙂

From what AVB said in his presser, it seems that Cahill probably wont start this weekend, so i'd change him. Perhaps for a Fulham defender and you can then upgrade Ruddy to Mignolet or Sorensen.

Also i prefer Kompany to Richards, so if you're benching Richards anyway, i'd change him to Kompany. Good forward line.

Last season I asked 5 times my girlfriend to pick a captain for my team out of 2-4 candidates. 4 times out of 5 she picked the right one. And she didn't know anything about football. I really didn't want to use her too much. usually I made my own decisions.

We broke away on summer. Before game week like this one coming I still start missing her.

1st of all, what type of bike do you want a sport bike or a Street Cruiser?

          I've had a 2004 R1 sport, now I have a 1981 Suzuki GSX 1100

but I would like to get a new GSR750 or a harley-davidson XR1200x all in black

WC is active. I really want Kompany rather than Richards. I know the general "rule" is to save transfer the week after the WC.
However Skrtel is really tempting me as a one week punt Vs Bolton (CS and a goal anyone?)

Then do Skrtel to Kompany GW23..............I have Skrtel in the WC ATM and caught the early in the week price rise so a good performance from him (and another rise) should see me profit too.

    Good idea?

Liking the Skrtel idea, RCA. Play the fixtures with Skrtel and make some profit before switching. Im leaning towards Kompany too when he's back, gives you less rotation headache compared to Richards.

    Thoughts on WC?

    Vorm / Mignolet
    Richards / Cahill / Senderos / Raylor / Shotton
    Silva / Bale / Dempsey / Walters / McClean
    Torres / RVP / Fletcher

    - 3.7 in the bank
    - Upgrade Richards to Kompany when he gets back
    - Raylor is short term
    - Keep Torres for 2 game punt (vs SWA and NOR), upgrade to Aguero

Good plan. I wouldnt have Cahill though until we're sure he's a starter. Even then, he won't play every game. You already have a rotation risk in Shotton too, so the defence is too risky for me.

are you planning to play Richards this week? If not get Kompany now on WC & bench. Cahill & Shotton look like risks at the min. maybe look to replace until confirmed starters. Like the Torres punt, was contemplating this also.

Yeah Shotton I don't trust now... took him out for Evans and Cahill for Skrtel. Still leaves me enough to do those upgrades I planned. On Richards, isn't he likely to start this weekend? If not, I could always go for Lescott instead and then go to Kompany.

Morning gents, last question before the gw, which of these transfer plans do you like better,

    1. Baines (BLA) GW22, to Evra (STO) GW23, to Kompany (FUL) GW24
    2. Torres (Nor) GW22, to Rooney (STO) GW23, to Aguero (FUL) GW24

Also would it be worth downgrading Naylor to Caulker and choosing Kelly instead of Senderos to save funds?

    Any thoughts appreciated 🙂

Option2 looks good ILA. But as you well know, a three week transfer plan can lie in ruins half an hour into the first GW!

        Naylor to Caulker....yes
Senderos to Kelly...no (I think Baird is pushing him close for a starting spot now especially after the inept defensive display Vs Blackburn)

I'd go for 2. Forwards always have a higher chance of BP's and big point hauls, and if you have the luxury of rotating them each week based on fixtures (I'm assuming till you WC?), that's your best option. Also, forwards give you better captain choices.

1.2 m loss for me. It really doesn't matter though. Set yourself up with a team that you like. Look at the profit you've made from selling players who have risen, rather than the "virtual" value of your team.

I don't think I'd bring in Sturridge for a hit if I didn't have him already.

With the doubts surrounding Sturridge you're probably right mate. What do you think about Westwood & Ramsey -> Mignolet & Sessegnon for a hit? Reasoning in my post below....cheers

I wouldnt take a hit doing Ramsey to Sess so Id probably just do the Ade tranny. Also depends on which defenders are you planning to use imo (Ramsey/Jevans, Sess/Caulker)

I'm swaying towards Westwood/Ramsey -> Mignolet/Sessegnon (4 point hit) at the moment, as I want Ade for WIG next week and I fancy Migs/Sess to outscore Ruddy/Ramsey over the next 2 weeks before I wildcard. If I had the extra 0.1m I would just do Ramsey -> Sess, but as I dont the Westwood -> Migs transfer finds that 0.1m and gives me a GK with 2 great home fixtures.... ok move?

Not a bad move. Def better then bringing in Studge who is in doubt to start.

If thats the case (goalies and hanging on to Ade for Wigan), Westwood to Mignolet or probably Stockdale should be a good plan.

I wouldnt take point hits this close to a wc personally and maybe its just me, but I actually fancy Rambo to do something against United with Arteta and Sagna back.

Who are you lot captaining this weekend?

Was thinking about Huth.... But I might not have the balls to do it and stick with Aguero

Sounds like a good prospect for captain, due a goal and good chance of clean sheet. But captaining defenders is a huge risk

Toying with the idea of Baines but most likely end up with the usual Aguero/RVP 😕

Possibly Sessegnon, but chances are I will just stick with RVP.

I have to say, cahill looks a mighty good pick if a) he becomes a regular starter and b) essien returns to match fitness

    Kompany, Valencia and Sturridge or
Kun, McClean and Skrtel for the WC

    Good Evening All

Here be my bench this GW, mind you I have Sturridge and Ben Arfa in the starting 11.

    Ruddy Assou-Ekotto Adebayor Kompany

My focus is a wee bit different than most. I play in a monthly H2H and currently have a 24 pt lead on the others. Meaning, over all rank means less than stomping on my co-workers monthly and getting free high end beers, usually IPAs as I Crouch/Agbonlahor/Helguson/Dzeko (in that order)

Would it be worth a 4 pt hit to to JEvans-->(someone7.0) or Ben Arfa-->(someone 7.9)?

I feel with the Cabaye concerns that Hatem will finally get a deserved start this week.

    So one last time truncated.

1 transfer or two for 4 pt hit?
