Eight victories and a qualifying round later and here we are, the Semi-Finals of the Paddy Power Cup V. A win at this penultimate stage guarantees a prize and, of course, a place in the Gameweek 23 Grand Final. Without further ado, the Semi-Final draw…

sleepingmaster Vs. ChickenDevil

The underdog here is 73,327th in the world sleepingmaster, who is the lowest ranked of all four Semi-Finalists. Over 65,000 places better off than him is his opponent, ChickenDevil. The difference in rank is reflected in both teams squad value. Whilst the top 10,000 ChickenDevil has coffers of over £110m to call upon, sleepingmaster is a good three million worse off. And with funds tied up with Wayne Rooney away at the Emirates, sleepingmaster needs some serious performances from the likes of Stephane Sessegnon.

Raasclart Vs. Funkyav

The second tie pits last week’s top-scorer, Raasclart, against the highest-ranked Fantasy manager, Funkyav. With Funkyav’s Wayne Rooney facing a trip to the Emirates and Raasclart’s Emmanuel Adebayor ruled out of the Gameweek, this one could come down to how those mid-priced options fair. Raasclart’s move in the transfer market for his an Adebayor replacement may also pave the way into the final.

Here’s a reminder of exactly what’s at stake…

  • Winner – £150 worth of free bets courtesy of sponsors Paddy Power. £50 Amazon Voucher
  • Runner-up – £75 worth of free bets courtesy of sponsors Paddy Power. £30 Amazon Voucher
  • 3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets courtesy of sponsors Paddy Power. £20 Amazon Voucher

Good luck for each of our Semi-Finalists going into Gameweek 22. Next week I’ll bring you the results, a subsequent preview of the Grand Final, and news of the next Fantasy Football Scout competition.

ok thoughts on what to do this week, my injury crisis seems to be easing, Jones is fit, McAuley likely to be fit, just leaves Brown. team is

    Vorm

    Brown, Jones, Raylor

    Bale, Silva, Nani, Donovan

    RvP, Odem, Sturridge

    Friedel, McAuley, BAE, Tiote

1 FT and 0.9 in bank

    Options are

    1) sell Brown
    2) sell Odem
    3) sell Sturridge
    4) sell Tiote

    and should I play Friedel?

I would do Odem to maybe Agbonlahor, dont really fancy WBA away to either sto or ful. As for GK's, toss a coin really, I dont see either keeping a CS but not letting many goals in either. Depends who you think will get the most saves points.

REPOST as only 1 response (cheers Ryan). Have come up with revised WC team after Arsenal injury news... thoughts?

    A.
    Krul (Linde)
    Raylor, Enrique, Skrtl (EVANS, SIMPSON)
    Bale, Silva, Sess, Walters, (DYER)
    rvp, Rooney, FLETCHER.

    B.
    Krul (Linde)
    Raylor, Enrique, Skrtl (KELLY, CAULKER)
    Bale, Silva, Sess, Walters, VALENCIA
    rvp, Rooney (BEST)

Both options will go Skrtl > Kompany when fit.

If by Arsenal injury news you mean Vermaelen, why change the team? I have bought him in my wc team this week and if he doesn't play it's no big deal, he'll be back next week and it will save you a transfer later if you want him.

I was really horrified at Arsenal's def last week (am a fan) and unfortunately Arsenal are not that much better at home than away. Miquel is too inexperienced to play out of position and be expected to hold of Utds attacks so I'm predicting a few goals.

I've had Ruddy for half a season, and he has done me nothing good! Why not switch to Sørensen for just 0.1 more? And maybe take out Wilkinson....he is injury prone, to say it the least!
I would suggest Ruddy to Sørensen, and Wilkinson to Kelly...

It's a tough one. Stoke don't oftern keep 2 cs's in a row and we've looked quite tight at the back, but swansea looked like they'd found a new attacking threat against arsenal, well it could have just been the fact that arsenal's def was so woeful!

I'm playing Sorensen. Stoke looking solid again and West Brom are a bit impotent. Sunderland also at home but Swansea will be buzzing from the Arsenal game and will have a go.

Yeah west brom are struggling to score and swansea haven't failed to score in last 4. Think that might swing it, although I'm going to the match tomorrow and love having a couple s'land players in there! 🙂

Morning chaps, couple of questions about my team for this GW. Help greatly appreciated!

    1. Start Stockdale (home to NEW) or Vorm (away to SUN)?

    2. Bench order: Caulker (away to SUN) before Assou-Ekotto (away to MCI)?

    3. Who to captain from RVP, Aguero, Dempsey, Sessegnon?

    Sturridge

"The conversation we had at the start of the season was as Daniel as a right winger, a player I have tremendous belief in, physical and technical qualities, and a player who has given so much to the team in that position.

"Daniel can be used as a striker but the players who compete for that position are Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and Romelu Lukaku. This question is not new and we've spoken about it before. It's not true that Daniel is under any kind of discomfort. If he was, we'd have to address it."

He's starting RW vs. Norwich then I take it? If he doesn't surely it makes it look like they are having a disagreement.

If he starts, it'll definitely be on the right. Can't see Malouda and Mata both starting on the wings.

I actually think he'll get more points from there. Better cutting in vs. the fullback and also being a back post poacher than running straight at the defence.

After much tinkering, I think my team is set (wild card active of course). Please RMT:

    Mingolet (Vorm)
    Cahill, Enrique, Shotton (Raylor, BAE)
    Valencia, Sess, Silva, Dempsey (Bale)
    Rooney (c), RVP, Fletcher
    0.5 in the bank

Plan for GW 24 is to offload BAE, Bale, and Fletcher for Micah Richards, Walters, and Sturridge... so this is the team for the next 2 weeks (Tottenham host Wigan next week, then it's really tough fixtures). Does it work? Am I crazy to even contemplate having Bale on the bench? (if not Bale, then who?) And is Fletcher-Dempsey a better combo than Sturridge-Walters?

    Second attempt.....

What your thougts on R.Taylor - is he going to play in midfield and is he worth a punt for a while.
In my wc team he is pretty much battling for a place with Senderos/Kelly.

    Senderos / Kelly next four;
    NEW, WBA, mc, STO
He would be benched for gw24 and play Simpson instead

    R.Taylor
    ful, bla, ASV, tot
    Plays all, Simpson benched gw24.

Fixturewise there's no doubt, but is that attacking threat enough to give him a place in my team?

My defence Richards, Enrigue, Huth, Simpson,
