→ The 2014/15 season was Sergio Aguero's best ever for Fantasy returns. Seven of his goals/assists and 36 of his FPL points came in two meetings with which club that year? Scout Betting

Last week’s posse of bets may have failed to bring home the bacon, but with a fresh note clutched in our determined mitt, we look to pitch our Fantasy thinking against Paddy Power’s odds, in another Flutter.

After a spell of defeats in the run up to Christmas, Stoke have slipped up just once in nine games, and that was a “gimme” at the hands of league leaders City. Although a secreted towel and a long-throw still play a major part in Tony Pulis’ tactics, teams have found ways to counter these methods, forcing Stoke to – whisper it – find quality on the ground. Jon Walters has been at the heart of this, always willing to push up to support the lofty talents of Peter Crouch, his prowess from the spot have seen Walters simmer as a strong mid-price midfield option all season. In the Picks again this week, Paddy post 4/1 on Walters to score and Stoke to gain a cleansheet against visiting West Brom, and thus our weeks tenner is broken, with £2 laid down.

Having missed five games this season, Steven Fletcher has had to work hard to rack up his impressive 81 Fantasy Premier League tally. Fletcher undoubtedly offers exceptional value for FPL managers and punters alike, and Paddy go 100/30 for him to score and Wolves to win against rivals Villa this weekend. Given that Fletcher has proved deadly in the air this term, we prefer to take a punt on him to score with a header at 8/1 for a quid.

Stephane Sessegnon may well be the key to Martin O’Neil’s Sunderland revival. To be fair to Steve Bruce, Sessegnon was performing well enough before he was turfed out, but there’s something about O’Neill that’s squeezed an end product from the lively attacker, to accompany the pace and trickery. Subject to heavy transfer activity in recent weeks, Fantasy managers will expect Sessegnon to feature with either goal or assist as Swansea visit the Black Cats, even though the visitors have put together a strong run of form of late. A Sessegnon goal and assist double at 10/1 is worth a £2 stake.

Our final market revolves around the glitzy world of celebrity Twitterer Joey Barton. The QPR skipper is not quite the Punch and Judy villain that Mario Balotelli has become, but nonetheless, he’s a great entertainer with his antics and indiscretions on and off the pitch. Paddy are tempting us in here with a “will he, won’t he” bet. Barton to avoid a yellow card and get a goal against Wigan is at 5/1. Since he’s racked up 8 cards in 18 games, this would normally be too much of a risk, but new managers can often bring out the best in players and change any leopard’s spots. We may even see Adel Taarabt’s ego humbled with Mark Hughes’ arrival – then again. If you want to firmly back a QPR revival under Hughes, Paddy are offing 14/1 on Barton to score and Rangers to earn the win against the visiting Latics. That’s well worth a sniff and earns our final stake slice.

Money Back Special

Paddy fast forward to Sunday’s big encounters to offer us a pair of Money Back Specials. If four or more goals are scored in City’s clash with Spurs they are refunding all losing first /last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on that match. They’re taking the same stance on the Arsenal vs United clash at the Emirates, so if Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie let loose, you could be line for a refund on your punt.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

    richards, enrique, simpson, brown, kelly

for my other keeper spot I could get:

    a) stoke keeper (who is the nailed on choice now?)
    b) lindegaard
    c) kenny
    d) mingolet

thinking a or b as I already have sunderland defensive coverage and not sure how qpr will do defensively. thoughts?

Okay, I have 9.7m for a striker, I already have RvP and Sturridge (predictably), but am taking Bellamy out as he will probably be rested for the Carling cup clash with City. Any recommendations? It’s probably just for this gameweek as I’m looking to get Adebarndoor in for the Wigan game.

B slightly....owning sorenson shouldnt alter your decision , iv had 2 newcastle def and 2 swansea def all season and its worked perfect! that hedging on players works if ya had 15 teams that were mutual exclusive in the league!

Things that will happen after I wildcarded to get rid of them:

Ward will keep his first clean sheet in 19 weeks.
Drenthe will do something for the first time, errrmmm... ever!
Rooney will actually score a penalty.
    Ramires will score a one-on-one.

How will Essien feature when he's back proper do you think? Romeu to be dropped or what?

        In short, I'm not sure!

Our two best midfielders right now are definitely Romeu and Ramires, but playing a midfield trio of Romeu-Ramires-Essien completely lacks creativity, and would increase the already significant burden on Mata.

richards cheaper and gets up to support quite a bit assists are likely.
Komps more from set pieces but usually does rack up the bonus points
really depends on how much money youve got. I've gone Richards plus komps suspended

I'm just trying to weigh it up here; Richards has only missed 4 entire games to Kompany's 2, and is not far behind.. He gets forward more, and will inevitably get assists and every clean sheet that Kompany gets.

I can afford both, and currently have Kompany, but the niggling in the back of my head says Richards is probably the better if he can stay injury free for the remainder of the season. Am I mad in thinking this?

    RvP, Sessegnon or Sturridge captain?

    As it stands (Wildcard)

    Krul Mignolet
    Richards Enrique Huth Santon Senderos
    Silva Valencia Bale Sessegnon McClean
    Aguero RVP Fletcher

The problem is I don't want two Sunderland mids, and Sess is easier to replace around that price bracket (Dempsey springs to mind). Now I could do Enrique --> Evans and Sess --> Dempsey but Enrique has two brilliant fixtures (defensively) and they're the type he could walk away with three bonus. Can anyone else find any viable option as to how I can draft Dempsey in? (Preferably not involving the selling of Valencia as I might captain him tomorrow). At the moment I'm thinking play Sess for the two games then eventually do the previously mentioned transfers. But then I've got £1.2m in the bank teasing me.

I'd do the Enrique > Evans, Sess > Dempsey move.

I know they've been solid so far this season, but I can easily see them not keeping a single clean sheet in the next 7 weeks. Liverpool that is.

That was it earlier, team looks to have more balance that way. I'll wait for a Sess rise tonight before doing it. Now who to bench 😕

I'd sell Enrique as you say, you don't need tonplay him
      This week anyway?

Also maybe just go Moses over McLean as he has awesome fixtures for 7/8 weeks

Moses might have good fixtures, but McClean:

        1) Is Irish
        2) Looks to be actually capable of producing something
        3) Is benchable, unlike Moses who you'll play just because it's "his week", stopping an inevitable hat-trick from your bench 🙂

Sinclair out, Sessegnon in and Adebayor out, Fletcher in for a four point hit? It will also allow me the freedom to take sturridge out next week and take a one week punt on a striker such as Darren Bent or Wayne Rooney before I play my wildcard.

    Yay or nay?

Anyway I have 6.3m to spend on any midfielder. Who would you pick??

    Barton?

    Murphy?
