Jamie O’Hara is set to remain sidelined for another fortnight for Wolves. Taye Taiwo arrives at QPR from Milan on a loan deal to bolster Mark Hughes’ back line, Peter Crouch escapes FA punishment, while Norwich snap up Leeds skipper Jonny Howson:

Alex McLeish received an injury boost this morning with news that three of his first-team squad could return for the weekend FA Cup clash against Arsenal. Stephen Ireland, Gabby Agbonlahor and Emile Heskey are on course to recover from their respective hamstring, illness and Achilles problems in time for the Gunners showdown. Charles N’Zogbia is still expected to remain sidelined due to a heel problem, while Chris Herd could return from an ankle injury in a couple of weeks, having been missing since gameweek 16.

Norwich completed the signing of Leeds midfielder Jonny Howson for an undisclosed amount yesterday. With their skipper out of contract at the end of the season, Leeds have “reluctantly†accepted the Canaries offer, with Howson arriving at Carrow Road on a three-and-a-half year deal. The Norwich midfield has been something of a conundrum for Fantasy managers this season, with rotation meaning seven players have managed 11 or more league starts, though Paul Lamber clearly has high hopes for Howson, saying:

I think he can add goals to our midfield which I think we need and he can do that. He’ll get better as a player the higher the level he goes up. If he does that and everything goes well, he’ll be a great player for us.

Reports this morning suggest Chelsea are close to completing the signing of Genk’s Kevin de Bruyne. The Belgian champions have confirmed they are in talks over the player’s possible transfer, though it is thought the midfielder may well be loaned back to the club for the rest of the season.

Jamie O’Hara is expected to be sidelined for another fortnight, according to Wolves boss Mick McCarthy. The midfielder’s recovery from a double hernia operation has been slower than the club anticipated, with O’Hara missing the last seven league games. He was expected to be ready by the end of January, but a return for the gameweek 25 home clash with West Brom now looks more likely.

QPR have snapped up Taye Taiwo on loan from Milan until the end of the season. The left-back’s arrival at Loftus Road certainly puts question marks against the likes of Armand Traore and with his renowned set-piece abilities, looks like one to watch ahead of his side’s favourable upcoming run of fixtures (avl, WOL, bla, FUL, EVE, bol) as Mark Hughes looks to build on last week’s win over Wigan.

While Mario Balotelli faces a four-match ban, the FA have been a little more lenient towards Peter Crouch. The Stoke forward has escaped any punishment for his apparent eye-gouge on Jonas Olsson is the Potters’ 2-1 home defeat by West Brom on Saturday. Crouch was set to face a three-game suspension but has been given the all-clear after match ref Anthony Taylor cleared him retrospectively of any misdemeanours.

I definitely agree in playing Baines with this logic, had him myself, as I think his attacking potential is big, with a reasonable chance of a clean sheet. I'd just never have any faith in an Arsenal clean sheet. Ever.

Corrigan thoughts on a Lind/Schwarzer rotation?

Lindegaard Krul looks the best combo for me.

I'd then look at Hart/Bogdan or Hilario. None of the other rotations leave me convinced. Fulham and Stoke are not trustworthy IMO. Stoke have 3 CSs in 15, I think, Sorenson is looking uneasy and Lindegaard looks a better alternative. With De gea's eye problems, I'd say he's nailed on till the end of this season.

Not in my opinion. Aguero and Dzeko's stats are good enough to back up their performance and although I like Richards' and Kompany's bonus/attacking threat, I'd just choose one and go for Silva + Aguero/Dzeko.

Yep, I couldn't agree more with this. He's a form player, and that goal may kickstart his season.

Will be looking at him if he maintains form and a midfield spot becomes available - so many good options to choose from at the moment!!

I'm struggling to tinker with the midfield 5 of:

        Silva Bale Valencia Dempsey Sess

It's really strange that these all seem like must-have players especially considering Valencia Bale and Sess have a pretty tough run of fixtures to come.

I think thats why alot of people are thinking of holding onto their wildcard. Hoping a whole load of better options appear. Its hard to see past those five though fixtures a side based on their form. Im sure some will drop in time.

+1. Once Nani and Mata have form and fixtures on their side you will see loads of people trying to fit them in. O'Hara is due back soon and could be worth a shout over Sess.

I don't like the idea of rotating attackers based on fixtures as they could score in any fixture, so yeah. He's my weak I admit but I wouldn't play Dyer or Moses instead of him.

To be honest I've not looked. I don't rate either highly enough to consider benching Sess. That's not to say he's amazing or anything. He's in there due to lack of viable alternatives at the moment and for 6.8 he's worth it in the short-term with good form and fixtures.

Awwww Demi, where were you when I was posting about Ba earlier. You're getting Ba back in ASAP like myself. 🙂

I'm currently thinking of rotating Welbeck and McClean for the next 3 gameweeks until Ba gets back and I can ship Pelebeck.

It may mean going without Sess though 😳 Mulling it over.

    Here's my team now:
    Vorm, Krul
    Walker, Enrique, Evans, Naylor, Simpson
    Silva, Nani, Bale, Sess, Buzsaky
    Rooney, Ade, Morison

Planning on WCing after this GW. Thoughts on this team please (look away if you're not a fan of expensive defs!):

    Krul, Lindegaard
    Kompany, Cole, Senderos, Simpson, Caulker
    Silva, Bale, Valencia, Sess, Buzsaky
    RVP, Ade, Morison

    Ade --> Ba eventually...

    Question.

Kompany is "serving" the last game of his ban, yet Man City has a full bench.

Why is a team not required to sacrifice a bench spot?

Seems silly he can serve a ban in game he was possibly not going to play in anyway and the team has to make no sacrifice other than not having his services for that game.
