Crazy times. The midweek deadline stretched our resources to the limit as the teamsheets caused a frenzy around the 7.30 deadline. We remain alive and kicking, though, and our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to take us into the action.

Hopefully your final tweaks were submitted in time and now you can sit back and take in the action, shaing the anguish and joy with your Fantasy Football peers in real-time.

The teamsheets are interesting to say the least. United are forced to hand Ben Amos his debut with both Anders Lindegaard and David De Gea unavailable and Stoke have laid down the gauntlet – both Kenwyne Jones and Peter Crouch start. Elsewhere at Old Trafford, Danny Welbeck makes way for Dimitar Berbatov, while Paul Scholes comes into the midfield.

Andre Villas-Boas keeps Gary Cahill on the bench at the Liberty, despite the absence of John Terry. Jose Bosingwa starts then, with Branislav Ivanovic partnering David Luiz. Swansea recall their regular first teamers in opposition.

Everton choose to star with Tony Hibbert at centre-back and he’ll be up against Sergio Aguero who returns to the City lineup, along with Vincent Kompany.

Gareth Bale is safely nestled in the Spurs lineup as he overcomes a thigh injury to start. He lines up alongside Niko Kranjcar who is given a rare start.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

GW26/27 I will want Ba back I think.

Now to figure out who is best partner for Vorm, do I keep BAE and Enrique, Sess--->McClean or any other cheap, is aguero worth the money.

Lindy/Evans who to get. I hope Lindegaard isnt too bad, 2 weeks or so then I may as well get him in. But that is for later in week, bed now lol

Yeah, I may have to do most of my tinkering on friday night.

That is a tough one, I had Dyer. Sess now and McClean will be in on WC. Siggy has better fixtures, but I cannot McClean's form anymore. So he wins for me

So, I'm jumping on the midfield bus sans Sess. Thinking of doing a McClean instead. Or a Dyer. Got 4.9 to spend, so could only get Sigurdsson if Sess gets a double rise before the next gameweek. Thoughts?

Honestly something like 25% of his key passes have been converted. It will not maintain.

Good enough. You keep Moses. I'll stick with Val.

He should have had two more assists today, if the strikers would've not been stoned during the game. I'd check the stats if I wasn't 100% sure that Val outperforms Moses in every category imaginable.

He's quality, on an offensive team. Tough fixtures = yeah. Then again, he's not on Wigan.

            Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks.

really struggled with these but here goes:

    BP predictions:

    Sinclair 3, Bosingwa 2, Caulker 1, Sigurdsson 1

Based on my theory that penalties are worth less than normal goals I think assisters Park and Valencia come into contention for the 3. Hernandez (no shots off target but didn’t play the 90), Berbatov (did play the 90 but 1 shot off target), Park and Valencia all too close to separate imo. If I had to lean towards one of those 4 players it would be Valencia for the 3 due to impressive dribble stats. (close Evans)

Kuyt 3, Carroll 3, Bellamy 1 (like the Man Utd almost impossible to separate the bonus recipients, have gone for Kuyt with his crosses and Carroll with his 8 aerial duels to pip Bellamy) (close Enrique, Adam)

    Bale 3 (insane stats), Modric 2, Assou-Ekotto 1

Baines 3, Gibson 3, Hibbert 1, Donovan 1 (close Heitinga)

Just out of interest, have you developed a linear regression type formula for the PPI ie -

(Wpts x goals) + (Xpts x assists) + (Ypts x clean sheets) + (Zpts x key passes) etc etc or do you just do it by "eyeballing" the opta stats?

nothing that fancy or in depth. just got rough estimates of what goals, assists, wins, blocks etc are worth in my head and just go by that. i think it's finding out what stats are ignored as much as what the included stats are each worth

IMO swerve QPR until you know 'MH' plans for the starting 11. Cisse / Zamora / helguson / boothroyd will all want some game time. Let's see who gets it first!

ok no way Modric goal should be given as a BAE assist, it touched a defender outside the box before it got to Modric. As a BAE for this week I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

Did he not get it for the 3rd goal? I haven't seen the goal yet.

They didn't add an assist for the first. So if it was added later I guess they analysed it before adding so it shouldnt be removed.

On the official premier league scoring website BAE gets the assist for the last Bale goal, and no assist is credited to the Modric goal.

the first wigan deflection appears to be right on the edge of the area so very much up for debate, after that however it deflects off another wigan player clearly outside the area and to modric who then scores. no assist (at least it shouldn't be based on their rules and precedents, e.g silva v stoke)

I spose. I just have a bad feeling. I have done so very well with captains luck this year. (Valencia last week, anyone?)

I just feel it has run out.

Man, now that I look at it, it all broke good for you this week, didn't it? Walker? One city player? Very few will have 3 cleanies this week. Your score should be a monster this week.

jealous. That kinda score could have gotten me into triple digits.

Valencia last week was masterclass. Not in the top 4 captains poll n you pulled it off. No chance your luck's running out.

Yea Newman it was about time I had some luck coming my way, with 4 red arrows in a row. Now "I'm coming to catch you" (Jacques Closseau)

That's certainly the one that catches my eye the most. A lot of the prices for the new ones haven't come in yet, but yeah, I think if Bobby nails down a starting spot, hes a great pick. If I ditch Aguero, it will probably be for him.

City are lacking that cutting edge at the moment, imo. If City have been unlucky in the past 2 months, Spurs have been unluckier in close games - take Stoke, Wolves, City.

PS There's good article here on all our January signings:

I've always liked Zamora, he'll offer good movement up front. I reckon Hughes will create a tight, fit outfit, . I reckon we will start to score far more at home, grind out points away. Wolves and Wigan look in bad shape, so its bettering he others. Can't wait to see all these new guys play though.

Could be a good move to get rid of Sess looking purely at fixtures. But the form he is in I can see him scoring against teams like Stoke away so I'll be holding onto him I think

2 things annoyed me about last night.

    1) Walker getting subbed off 5 mins before Wigan scored (I have BAE and all my rivals have Walker)
    2) Chelsea scoring a jammy goal in injury time (I started Caulker)

Other than that, all went ok.

My biggest peeve is that Bale was yellow flagged most of the week so I took the armband off him. Then not only does he start, but he scores 2 goals. Oh well at least most of my mini-league rivals captained the big donkey Adebarndoor and I still have RVP as mine.

Oh and my 4pt hit to draft in Richards and Aguero worked a treat too. Dropped 10k in rankings last night 🙁

Im suprised how few in my mini league captained Bale , i was almost only one , Sess seems to have been the most popular , but the capts Poll had Bale right up there

Like I mentioned, I think that a lot of people took the armband off him because of his yellow flag.

You dont want someone coming off the bench for a 1pter or not being fully fit when they are your captain

Lucky for me I captained him without knowing about any yellow flag... yay

I saw Bale in the Spurs starting XI so went to make him captain. FPL crashed and he scored a brace 😐
So ifffffffff RVP doesn't play tomorrow I get Bale (c) and Moses off the bench. Would be nice.

        ouch 😕

If VC Dempsey can re-create his scoring from last week then I'll be right with you hoping RVP doesnt get any playing time

Meh it's no biggie. If you were on this site near deadline time it was fu*king surreal. People practically in tears about fpl crashing and a whole lot of woe is me. It's just a game ffs.

Sure do. Don't particularly care about the amount of risers. I have 2 wildcards and an okay team value as it is.

WC'd last week for exactly that reason. Made 0.9 in team value - so went OK - could have been more but did one of those classic changing my mind things that cost me 0.1.

Not dumb, but at the same time I transferred out several players that had risen a huge amount and so a lot of team value disappeared because the sale value was much lower. These were Enrique, BAE, Vorm...

Kos, but get Sagna (I doubt you can afford Verm if you're mentioning Kos). He's back, he's nailed on, and he's a threat on the flanks.

Ah nicely remembered Test! Sorry my man, if it makes you feel any better I did practice what I preached and you can see he was in my team too.

Delay the turd until Sunday when he plays at home to Fulham please 😀

Woodgate not nailed on, especially when you have guys who Play Out Of Position, POOP, the wrong way. Not sure I want to try my hand at stoke home.

Who else is on the same rotation with Stoke, opposite Fulham that I can take BAE, ban or no ban, out for?

    It's Taiwo isn't it?

Why Taiwo? Onuoha is .1m more but he's a proven FPL prospect.

        lets see what tamario brings
