Crazy times. The midweek deadline stretched our resources to the limit as the teamsheets caused a frenzy around the 7.30 deadline. We remain alive and kicking, though, and our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to take us into the action.

Hopefully your final tweaks were submitted in time and now you can sit back and take in the action, shaing the anguish and joy with your Fantasy Football peers in real-time.

The teamsheets are interesting to say the least. United are forced to hand Ben Amos his debut with both Anders Lindegaard and David De Gea unavailable and Stoke have laid down the gauntlet – both Kenwyne Jones and Peter Crouch start. Elsewhere at Old Trafford, Danny Welbeck makes way for Dimitar Berbatov, while Paul Scholes comes into the midfield.

Andre Villas-Boas keeps Gary Cahill on the bench at the Liberty, despite the absence of John Terry. Jose Bosingwa starts then, with Branislav Ivanovic partnering David Luiz. Swansea recall their regular first teamers in opposition.

Everton choose to star with Tony Hibbert at centre-back and he’ll be up against Sergio Aguero who returns to the City lineup, along with Vincent Kompany.

Gareth Bale is safely nestled in the Spurs lineup as he overcomes a thigh injury to start. He lines up alongside Niko Kranjcar who is given a rare start.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

When will Cahill play a game for Chelsea?

or should I just trade him off

Ironically he's almost certainly playing this GW because of Cole's sending off. Wait and see. Poor defence though and doubt over his place, don't know why everyone got seduced by the new shiny thing from that club with the crap defence.

Luiz because he's basically the last player left that can (he played LB for almost a season for Benfica). Opens up a CB vacancy.

Yep your defence is looking threadbare atm. Everything seems to play into Tony V's hands nowadays. Arsenal fullbacks all injured and being allowed into the 6 yard box to score a header as a winger, Wigan being reduced to 10 men after a very tight first half whereupon he explodes, now a makeshift LB to run at against Chelsea.... the man is on a roll.

He's been my differential of the season.

I think Ferreira has played left back before, AVB must be furious with Cashley for stupid sending off because United will look to exploit whoever he puts in there.

Yeah see below, I have to concede he is a possibility, but at least Luiz has had much more gametime (even if we might not like what he's done with it).

Definite weak left side against United. Then again, Bosingwa is a weak right side too isn't he?? Ivanovic is a solid defender, IF Terry returned I'd definitely play Terry-Cahill in the centre, Luiz on the left and Ivanovic on the right.

id play cahill ahead of terry hes useless he had a few good years playing along side the Portuguese guy who was class player and under the special one who played with very defensibly anyway with Makelele or Essien sitting in front of him and with them playing so deep it hid his lack of pace

no team can play a high line with terry in defense

cahill is not much better by the way

    Daniel Sturridge

Created several good chances for himself throughout but his finishing was always wayward. Still his side's best player on the evening.

Manager really needs to lose Torres and play Sturridge as a striker

I know Danny really wants to play in the centre but have we ever seen evidence he's actually right about that? Who knows, maybe AVB actually knows better than him? I agree right now there's little to lose with Torres not scoring so worth a try. Just be prepared for it not to work out.

Saw the Cabaye incident, was blatant petulance. Makes Newcastle mid considerably weaker and makes it less attractive to own their attacking players. Even for me puts a little question mark over getting Ba so early.

Another foreign manager takes a victory over an underdog for granted, another foreign manager is left disappointed.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16821469.stm

Not that I have anything against foreign managers - they often are much better than local ones - but they sometimes lack respect for small teams, and it's good when they're punished for it.

I will never forget AVB taking off some of his best players against Wigan...

While I am disappointed that I lost out on both Kompany and Vorm's cleanies today, and captaining RVP over Bale, I think what makes me most upset is that I only have 3 to play tomorrow. One is RVP (c), but still. Seems like everyone has five left. I guess I'm just hoping Sunderland fall apart or something. Not likely, I know.

*Shrugs* Hey, I've been wrong about Sess all this time, can't I just me right about him for one week?

Piggybacking on our other convo, Nino.....if one runs 4-4-2, are there really 4 defenders you'll want to run most weeks? Surely City for the next while, Evans maybe, but despite all the screwyness, there were only 3 cleanies today, two of which are teams with ugly fixtures coming up.

What are you look at, for now, in terms of implementation?

Mostly going 2 City defs + Silva & will get Kun if he gets back some form; McClean Val Silva Bale Demp should be my mf as of today; RVP, Ba & Studge/BZ/Yak.

Glad you held onto Enrique for this week. Are you planning to continue to do so, Newman? Studge > Ba for you, my guess?

Yeah, I kinda wish I could get richards now and shrink Aguero down to Ba....but I think I've made my bed now, and I've gotta sleep in this one. Unless I can save a transfer this week, which is possible.

Obviously I'm glad I held Enrique this week....I just hope I'm ok with it long term. The double gameweek will help.

I hate studge, but maybe having two transfers, and the ability to go Aguero>Ba and Caulker>Richards will be worth it in order to player 4-4-2 or 3-4-3 and just bench Enrique for a while.

That sounds like a plan as well!

Will give you more time to judge who you want OUT from Studge/Kun. But Kun only 2 goal attempts against a depleted Everton defence. I think I'm going to pass.

I'll have to let go off Enrique by the looks of it, to fit in the team I want. I don't mind paying extra 0.4 mil to get him back later. In all probability, he'll drop in price once the CS stop coming.

I watched Chelsea game very little. Aren't their form, as a team, quite poor? Their fixtures are not good too. We have time to observe QPR tonight before making any decision.. Btw, NUFC without Tiote and possibly Cabaye might be not as explosive as we expect.

Actually Studge's fixtures are more than decent from 25-28. Also, when he's in form, he can tap in against any team & we are super reliant on him for goals with Torres misfiring.

Well Ba did score a brace some weeks back when Cabaye was suspended, if I'm not mistaken.

BZ & Yak (25-29) are great options as well. Reckon BZ might be on penos too?

      APPLEBONKERS predictions
      Sinclair 3, Bosingwa 2, Caulker 1, Sigurdsson 1

Based on my theory that penalties are worth less than normal goals I think assisters Park and Valencia come into contention for the 3. Hernandez (no shots off target but didn’t play the 90), Berbatov (did play the 90 but 1 shot off target), Park and Valencia all too close to separate imo. If I had to lean towards one of those 4 players it would be Valencia for the 3 due to impressive dribble stats. (close Evans)

Kuyt 3, Carroll 3, Bellamy 1 (like the Man Utd almost impossible to separate the bonus recipients, have gone for Kuyt with his crosses and Carroll with his 8 aerial duels to pip Bellamy) (close Enrique, Adam)

      Bale 3 (insane stats), Modric 2, Assou-Ekotto 1

Baines 3, Gibson 3, Hibbert 1, Donovan 1 (close Heitinga)

Hey Crouchy, what would be your starting XI now? I'd have something like this:

    Kenny
    Young Onuoha Ferdinand Taiwo
    Taarabt Barton Diatike Traore
    Cisse Zamora

Decent enough bench with likes of Buzz, SWP, Mackie and Heidar. Should be safe and can kick on in the summer then

United are going to keep winning despite fixtures. Yes, their fixtures are bad, but 8 mil is a nice amoutn to invest is a good team with bad fixtures. Also, he is in incredible form. Keep Valencia.

Bale scores as much against the good teams as he does against the poor ones. Keep Bale.

I never got Sess because I think he is overrated and his fixtures weren't going to be good for long. I was wrong on the first count, but surely most will get rid after tomorrow.

Good points from Newman here on Valencia and Bale.
Valencia will be up against a makeshift left back against Chelsea with Cashley suspended, possibly Luiz of Ferrirera to fit in.
Bale is the real deal, class act. How many players have scored a hat trick in the San Siro against the reigning European champions!
Sess looks a player though, his goal against Swansea was class.

I'm keeping Valencia as he's my pet differential, had him from GW18 and he's repaid me handsomely. Incredibly efficient player.

        Keeping Bale too.

Sess, I am waiting to see if he has come on as a player. He is in sublime form right now, his goal against Swansea last week was the kind very few players score. It makes me think he's class, not form. Remember people were avoiding Bale for much of this season because they thought he would be his erratic self? When the scores kept coming, they had to change their minds. IF the scores keep coming, I will treat him the same way we now treat Bale. Plus he's got the MON effect behind him.

I take it you don't have Dempsey?

O know, I absolutely do, But his fixtures speak for themselves. You don't need an 'exit plan' for him, or Silva, so I didn't defend them.

I think you're saying a lot about Sess. Yes, the goal was fantastic....but lots of ok players score great goals. I'm not there yet, with Sess....in that I'm not sure he's fixture proof. Easily the most droppable of those 5 right now.

Fair enough. I agree, he is the most droppable. I suppose my position is that I think he's very likely to be good enough to be fixture proof, but he will have to prove that over the coming weeks. If he isn't, downgrades to Sigurdsson, Buzsaky or McClean tempt me.

Good calls all around. Hey, lets put in this way: I am ALWAYs wrong about Sess.

Early in the year, I said he was must have. He did nothing

Then I said he sucked........he started scoring like crazy.

I said he wasn't worth it for his tasty January fixtures. he has killed it so far.

Now I STILL say he isn't fixture proof.........we are about to find out.

Haha I feel your pain, I hope you didn't have him for any of the lean periods. I hear Sess got some mad hype before the season started, he scored freely in preseason, and he looked like a very promising pick. Then he did feck all under Bruce for ages... now under MON he's on fire! It may be that a different manager has brought about a different player.

I think I'll keep him for his first tough fixture (Stoke away next week). I am hedging my bets, because I have Sorenson in goal in the belief of a Stoke CS and Sess looks the likeliest Sunderland guy to score.

Well they consist of 4 of the top 5 midfielders for the entire season, so it isn't like it's a flash in the plan, and the one that isn't in the top 5 has 2 goals, 9 assists and 9 bp's (before any this GW) in his 10 games since returning from injury.
I don't have the 'famous five' but I wouldn't be planning any exit strategy for a few weeks now..

Yep, they're not flashes in the pan I agree. What I think it is almost unavoidable though is that there are players known to us who will outscore members of the five this month - you got to at least play the fixtures for the non-fixture-proof members.

I see Bale and Silva as fixture-proof. Possibly Valencia too. Dempsey has had a few goals against the best too so he is really making it hard to drop him. Sess is the only one lacking much of a record against the best - so I am waiting and seeing on him.

McClean's incredible for his price bracket but in the 4 full games he's played, he got 1 goal 1 assist and Sess got 2 goals 2 assists. You get what you pay for. I could eventually downgrade Sess > McClean and use the money to upgrade a striker - but it would be reluctantly.

I'm planning on wildcarding again in GW28, so this lot are for 4 weeks only. Sorenson would play 3 of those (SUN, SWA, NOR) so I just need a GK with a decent fixture in GW25 for 4.5m or less (Linde has LIV at home so perhaps seems the best shout?)

Taiwo is there cause QPR have the best fixtures in the next 4, and should tighten up under Hughes and with their new defensive signings. Also, he's pretty attacking.

Walters is a concern though. History says he'll do well at home to lesser opposition, but his form is shocking. Not sure who else to pick for those 4 games though! Any ideas?

I have thought about Ba captain for both. I'm still not at a spot where I could captain Silva, honestly. Mata, I just dont ever want in my team again. RVP would be pretty mad, imo.

I think I might play Ba roulette too. Cabaye is suspended and Tiote isn't back yet. It may be a rough few weeks for the Toon. They have a good fixture on GW26 (WOL) which is when I think everyone should be back - I may target then and keep him for the entire run-in.

Meantime... Zamora, Keane, Sturridge or someone else?

I actually have Welbeck atm. Don't ask.... in the panic of today's FPL site crashing, and the teamsheets from United taking ages to appear, I put him in as a gamble. Lucky I had 5 mids to cover.

I think Helguson is out ain't he? Cisse has been playing overseas, BZ has always played here , and looks like the obvious short term fix (being 31 too).
Keane window is very short. Loan ends soon. Villa are improving in attack, Agbonlahor?

Two free transfers after this GW, certainly going to have Fletcher > Ba as one of them.

For the other, I'm either going to Sessegnon to a cheap midfielder. Who's the best option? I was thinking Mcclean but their fixtures dry up some what, so would Buzsaky at QPR be a worthwhile punt?

Sess, RVP, and Dempsey will score more than R Taylor, Krul, and Keane right??

Knowing my luck I'll be knocked out of the cup tomorrow.

Each 1v1 matchup says yes, I would be utterly surprised if you're out tomorrow.

At least you're still in the cup. I went out three weeks ago to an absolute shiter on the basis of fewer goals conceded
