Wayne Rooney and Nani are back in the United squad ahead of the trip to Chelsea. Anders Lindegaard is out for over a month with an ankle injury. Steven Gerrard returns for Liverpool, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a doubt for Arsenal, Chris Samba is out of the Blackburn squad, while Jamie O’Hara comes back into contention for Wolves.

Blackburn will travel to the Emirates tomorrow without the services of Chris Samba. The Rovers skipper is 100% fit for selection but, after failing to engineer a move away from Ewood Park during the January transfer window, he is not being considered for the first-team at present. While this hardly helps the club’s battle to stave off relegation, it’s great news for those of us who are intent on handing Robin Van Persie the armband this weekend. With the media pre-warned that questions on Samba were off-limits at his press conference, beleaguered boss Steve Kean would only confirm:

I’m prepared to say he’s fit and he’s available but he’s not in the squad for the Arsenal game. I’d rather speak about people who are available to play against Arsenal. Chris has trained well today but he’s not going to be in this squad.

Arsene Wenger revealed Alex Oxlade Chamberlain was his only injury concern ahead of the Rovers showdown. The youngster faces a fitness test today, with his manager describing the issue as “a little problem”. Wenger also admitted he was considering some changes to his side, after a disappointing draw at Bolton last time out extended Arsenal’s winless league run to four matches.

Sir Alex Ferguson hopes to have four players back for Man United’s trip to Chelsea. The United boss revealed Wayne Rooney, Nani, Ashley Young and Tom Cleverley will all be in the squad for Sunday’s showdown. While Cleverley is more likely to reserve action on Monday, both Rooney and Nani have trained for the last two days and stand a chance of first-team returns.

Ferguson also went on to reveal Anders Lindegaard will be out for four to six weeks with ankle ligament damage. It leaves the champions with something of a quandary in goal- David De Gea missed the Stoke game in midweek due to illness but he’s hardly been inspirational at the back and has been left on the bench for five of the last six matches. If De Gea is ruled out, Ben Amos is likely to continue in goal, with Ferguson admitting today that he was picked ahead of Tomasz Kuszczak on Tuesday as, with the Pole leaving in the summer, he decided to afford Amos some game time in the league.

Kenny Dalglish has confirmed Steven Gerrard will return to the Liverpool squad after being rested for the midweek win at Wolves. The midfielder has been eased back into action following groin and ankle problems but is set to feature against Spurs on Monday evening. With Luis Suarez also available after his eight-game suspension, Dalglish admitted he’s spoiled for choice right now, as the Reds look to continue their recent run of form that has knocked both Manchester clubs out of domestic cup competition.

Mohamed Diame will return for Wigan at home to Everton this weekend. The midfielder had been unavailable for the last few games due to African Cup of Nations duties but with Senegal knocked out at the group stages, he’s back for the Latics a little earlier than anticipated. Hugo Rodallega could also make a quick return, having missed the previous game due to soft tissue damage, while Franco Di Santo and Antolin Alcaraz could also be involved, after leg and groin problems respectively.

Jamie O’Hara has been included in the Wolves squad ahead of this weekend’s trip to QPR. The midfielder has failed to feature since gameweek 15 after a double hernia operation, but turned out for the reserves in midweek and is ready to step straight back into first-team action.

Steve Sidwell is set to be sidelined for up to six weeks. The Fulham midfielder is still suffering discomfort following his recent hernia operation and may require further surgery to alleviate the problem. Moussa Dembele returns to the squad and is likely to come back into central midfield, while both Andy Johnson and new signing Pavel Pogrebnyak are both unavailable, meaning Clint Dempsey is likely to play up front again for the trip to Man City. Reports also suggest Mark Schwarzer may be set to return for the Cottagers this weekend.

    Krul (Linde)
    Kompany, Enrique, Raylor (Kelly, Caulker)
    Val, Silva, Bale, Sess, Walters
    Rooney, RVP (Best).

0m, 1 FT. Any suggestions guys? Currently thinking:

    A. Rooney > Aguero (but then I won't be able to go Best > Ba as not enough ££).
    B. Rooney > Dzeko (can't go Rooney > Ba as too many NC).
    C. Hold on to FT.

    Hi all

I've got two frees this week. Pretty settled on Sturridge to Zamora - would people agree that's a good move?

I have a back 5 of Enrique, Richards, Evans, Raylor and Senderos. Thinking of shipping Enrique - 3 tough fixtures over 4 gameweeks - and doubling up with Kompany. Will lose a lot of value with Enrique but I think it's the right move.

    Thoughts?

Not sure what your front is like but I'd go for Ba over Zamora, we don't know how QPR's new attack will look and Zamora is injury prone.

My SP for Enrique is 5.5 and I'm holding on. In GW 28 fixtures ease up a lot and don't forget they will have a double GW at some point. Also there are not too many standout alternatives for the same price.

    Taiwo (£4.5m) vs Onuoha (£4.6)

Could someone here explain the love for Taiwo in these parts? I know relatively very little about him and he's unproven in the premier league.
Onuoha on the other hand was in every second team last season when he was at Sunderland. Gets forward a lot and grabs the odd goal.

Taiwo will take some set plays. Is .1 cheaper. Is a quality player and will bomb forward.

You say that, did you see his goal against Chelsea last year? That was no run of the mill goal, and it wasn't a header, more like a Messi-esque dribble past 3 defenders before slotting it coolly away.

Taiwo has more attaking threat. He has a good shot on him and takes free kicks (not sure he will at QPR though)

I got Taiwo in on my WC last week becasue of the nice home fixtures but i am regretting it a bit, QPR don't keep cleansheets.

If you had to pick one of these for the rest of the season, who do you reckon would score the most points from now on:

Dempsey... he might go a few weeks between big hauls... but i suspect he'll probably get at least a couple more braces...

Mata flatters to deceive in fantasy terms, i think the price tag fools a lot of people into thinking he will bring in points.. when in reality he's a good player that often provides a ball for other people to assist...

Not convinced by Gerrard at all this season.. a massive punt..

Valencia's returns could dwindle when Young returns and Nani hits a bit of form...

Cheers Pilko. You've got some valid points there. I had narrowed it down in my own mind to Dempsey vs Valencia. I agree Valencia wont get the big hauls like Dempsey, but I just wondered if his consistent mid-road returns might show a better profit scoring-wise than Dempsey's flash-in-the-pans.

I'll have to think that over. thanks though, much appreciated

“You don’t want to change a winning side, but we do have some players in the wings who are itching to be part of the team.

“David Meyler is a perfect example of someone who can’t wait for more first-team football, but there are others too, and it’s something we’ll look at.”

    McClean??!!! 🙁

Cant see it with the form he is in and the fixtures they have ahead

Meyler...barely heard of the guy. Hell probably play the FA cup replay if anything

Of all the managers in the world MON is probably the most predictable / stubborn when it comes to changing his lineup. Tis a major reason why his players are always so popular in fantasy football.

Sounds like a manager oozing with confidence ready to inject some new blood like he did with Frazier, McClean's been too good to drop plus Meyler is more a centre mid. You might have been misled by the statement about players waiting in the wings. Fortunately for McClean owners, Meyler isn't a winger, then again with the acquisition of Bridge, Richardson is going to compete for that left wing I'd imagine. Who knows really. The lad is so young it's incredible that there is so much interest and hype surrounding him already. What a player though and thank god he's Irish.

    OK folks help me out

    Mignolet

    Richards, Santon, Taiwo

    Silva, Bale, Valencia, Dempsey

    Aguero (vc), RvP (c), Gerbil

    Schwarzer, McLean, Evans, Caulker

    0.5 in bank

    1) Should I play Evans or McLean over Clint

    2) Should I find a way to get Ba in? am 0.3 short, could lose Dempesy or Evans, or could lose my keepers, get Krul and Bogdan and play Krul every week?

You think my keepers are ok?

Looking to downgrade Skrtel to a sub-5.5m defender. Can't really see any clear-cut options though.
