As if Tony Pulis did not have enough evidence to fill his ‘how to referee the tackle’ DVD with, his Stoke team today were victims of another questionable sanction, with a red card shown to Rory Delap in the 2-0 FA Cup win at Crawley.

Delap’s studs up tackle on midfielder David Hunt was deemed reckless and dangerous by referee Mike Jones (but seemingly only after Mancini-esq card waving influence from the sidelines) and, in light of the recent failed appeal by Robert Huth for a similar dismissal, the Stoke manager is certain to feel aggrieved. With Huth due to serve the last match of his ban in Gameweek 26, Delap will now join him in the Britannia stands for the Swansea fixture and then sit out a further two games (NOR, che), returning in time for the sixth round FA cup tie at Anfield.

In other suspension tightrope news, we saw Lee Cattermole rise onto the highwire as Sunderland’s robust tackling captain lasted a full 79-minutes of the win over Arsenal before adding to his yellow card count for a foul on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. He now sits on nine cautions, knowing that a further indiscretion will result in a two-match ban. Fantasy managers may dismiss this situation but, having seen Cattermole shield his back four so effectively against the Gunners, there will be concerns that an absence for the Black Cats’ skipper would dent chances of clean sheets for the defence.

Cattermole’s Sunderland teammate, Seb Larsson (who despite his Press Association record still showing 8 yellows only actually has 7) also climbs up the tightrope rankings. He is joined by Chelsea’s David Luiz and Bolton’s Nigel Reo-Coker who also have seven yellow marks against their name following FA Cup bookings this weekend.

Anyone thinking about bringing Suarez into their team? Was pretty set on RVP, Rooney & Ba from GW28 onwards, but downgrading Rooney -> Suarez saves a fair old chunk of cash - thoughts on which of the below are best?

        I hope so, i'd like to be able to plan ahead somewhat. We should at least know whether the GW 29 games will take place the same GW or not, and so whether liverpool will have two, hopefully this weekend's postponed Everton game will be rescheduled in the next fortnight.
        
        How hard can it be to set a date, us FPL players need to know 😛

Is Lescott a rotation risk at all? Appears not to be, and he's a bigger goal threat than BK, and arguably Richards, plus he's cheaper. Good option?

  He is first choice, but there is always the threat of rotation from Kolo, the first choice back line is probably Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy
  
  with backups: Zabaleta, Savic, Kolo Toure, Kolorov
  
  and all but Kompany are likely to face some rotation, though Savic isn't getting near the first team again for a while.
  I'd say he's as nailed on as Richards, but once fixtures pile up a bit towards the end of the season he may face more rotation.

  OMG, he scored 8 goals season 2007-08.
  
  If I've to choose between him and Richards, it would be him. So far I'm happy with my Kompany+Silva+Aguero for city players. Fixtures for rest of the season don't make me double city defense. tough home games and semi-easy away games isn't enough.

Gonna sell Valencia and the stand out choice to come in is Silva, but would mean selling Richards/Kompany. What to you think about doing Richards & Valencia > Evans & Silva?

Other candidate is Mata i suppose. Maybe just a straight swap for Valencia and then save a transfer for next week but i have a feeling we'll score against City and i'll likely need Evans in future weeks even if i don't start him this GW.

  Ricards & Valencia -> Evans & Silva is a good move, but I think I'd just do Valencia -> Nani and save the other transfer. Nani will play with Valencia out, and he rarely stays quiet for long. I quite fancy him to be the difference for MUN against NOR....

    Thanks. That is good input. I am thinking of selling Dzeco, Krul, and Taiwo, and getting Hart (good fixtures for the next month), Welbeck, and Elliot Ward (I never play my fifth defender anyway).

        Negative. Sessegnon is clearly the better option.
        Plays significantly forward on the pitch compared to Larsson.
        Involved in most of his team's attacks.
        Looks lively all the time.
