As if Tony Pulis did not have enough evidence to fill his β€˜how to referee the tackle’ DVD with, his Stoke team today were victims of another questionable sanction, with a red card shown to Rory Delap in the 2-0 FA Cup win at Crawley.

Delap’s studs up tackle on midfielder David Hunt was deemed reckless and dangerous by referee Mike Jones (but seemingly only after Mancini-esq card waving influence from the sidelines) and, in light of the recent failed appeal by Robert Huth for a similar dismissal, the Stoke manager is certain to feel aggrieved. With Huth due to serve the last match of his ban in Gameweek 26, Delap will now join him in the Britannia stands for the Swansea fixture and then sit out a further two games (NOR, che), returning in time for the sixth round FA cup tie at Anfield.

In other suspension tightrope news, we saw Lee Cattermole rise onto the highwire as Sunderland’s robust tackling captain lasted a full 79-minutes of the win over Arsenal before adding to his yellow card count for a foul on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. He now sits on nine cautions, knowing that a further indiscretion will result in a two-match ban. Fantasy managers may dismiss this situation but, having seen Cattermole shield his back four so effectively against the Gunners, there will be concerns that an absence for the Black Cats’ skipper would dent chances of clean sheets for the defence.

Cattermole’s Sunderland teammate, Seb Larsson (who despite his Press Association record still showing 8 yellows only actually has 7) also climbs up the tightrope rankings. He is joined by Chelsea’s David Luiz and Bolton’s Nigel Reo-Coker who also have seven yellow marks against their name following FA Cup bookings this weekend.

GAMEWEEK 26 BANS

  • GaΓ«l Givet (BLA) – 1 Red for serious foul play (second of 3 matches)
  • Jason Lowe (BLA) – 10 Yellows (first of 2 matches)
  • Djibril CissΓ© (QPR) – 1 Red for serious foul play (second of 3 matches)
  • Rory Delap (STO) – 1 Red for serious foul play (first of 3 matches)
  • Robert Huth (STO) – 1 Red for serious foul play (last of 3 matches)

Come on lads, let's have some good differentials. We've all got the same teams so throw some names into the hat of players who are going to score well in these last 13 games or so.

    I'll go with Nani.

Just thought of Baines too from the recent Mark article.

And as for Baines, I'll not go near another Everton player this season even if they have a triple GW !! 😑

They have this annoying habit of getting their act together late in the piece. Just wondering if Baines is finally going to enjoy some decent returns.

        Z - good fix.

Yaya - DM so not interested.

        Suarez - missing too many.

        Odem - coming into form?

        Possibilities there.

No guarantees I know. Yaya might present better value for money than Silva atm, he seems quite capable of grabbing assists and BPs. Silva is the better choice when City are on form though.

Suarez is indeed missing too many but the difference between 5 shots off target and a couple of goals is sometimes down to good fortune. I won't be putting my money where my mouth is though!

Odem and Zamora might have potential - it's at this time of the season where the relegation battles bring out some high scoring matches.

A lot dough wrapped up in the middle. I'd get a solid attacking defender and downgrade one of Silva, Bale or Nani. Tot'ham had several goals last EPL game and Bale only got 3 points.

You don't think it's worthwhile getting some City players in there? It's going to be a scrap for the title so I think no matter what the fixtures are, the likes of Silva are not going to stop bringing in the points. Maybe even Dempsey->Toure for some spare cash - I don't see him sustaining his returns (I also have him)

I've been holding on to Sturridge for too long not to play him against Bolton. But that means I have to drop one of Bale or Ox-Chamberlain. Is the latter the obvious omission? Stupid unreliable Chelsea...

Not an ideal position to be in. Who'd you bring in for Valencia?

Assuming Nani or the like, I'd say bench Ox, although the NLD has a habit of being high scoring. Never bench Bale!!

That's what I was thinking. And O-C doesn't seem to get a full game anyway. I brought in the obvious cheaper Sunderland option with plans for later upgrades. I'm thinking it would be foolish not to play him vs West Brom with current form. Why can't I play with 2 defenders??? This sport is flawed.

Hmm, I think it's a toss up between playing Mclean and the Ox this week. If the Ox plays he'll be part of a front 3, so he'd just edge it for me. Close though...

Morning deadzoners, not many on here this morning!

I've a question which is bugging me, but I need unbiased answers, i.e. ignore who you have in your FPL team and answer with an open mind, ok?

Who do you think will score more this week?

    a) Rooney or Aguero
    b) Walters or Beausejour

    muchas gracias

Morning Catmac, quality>quantity I say, so there's no need to fear while I'm here πŸ˜‰ ,
      Being completely unbiased -
A).Both should score the same, if stretched I'd say Rooney.
      B).Walters.

Cheers Udit. And dont worry, I have no fear with the might of the Moscow army behind me πŸ™‚

Your thoughts are echoing mine. I have a feeling Rooney could outscore Aguero this week, trouble is I need to do a hit to get him in (Walters out) whereas I dont for Aguero. If there's not going to be much in it, it's not worth taking the hit.

Need to put the thinking cap back on I think. πŸ˜‰

I personally wouldn't take a hit to get rooney in over aguero for the next 2weeks. I am in sort of the same position and after keeping walters all this time have to give him these 2 home games, so will likely do aguero this week and save next weeks transfer for walters and aguero to flimsy and moses/miyiachi in week 28.

Rooney and Siggy. I'm not sure its worth getting Aguero in for only 2 weeks as that will cost you 2FT whereas you could just get Rooney now. Siggy will be the chief playmaker and FK taker of Swansea so I expect he will be a valuable number 5 midfielder

Final WC draft for GW 28 for me! I'm going away for four days, so I won't be on this site until thursday evening. πŸ˜›

So here's my WC team draft for GW 28:
    Krul-Mignolet
    Caulker-BAE-Evans-Skrtel/Agger-Santon
Dempsey-Bale-Silva-McClean-Ryo Miyaichi. The last two rotates perfectly and I like Ryo very much πŸ™‚
    Ba-RVP-Rooney

    Any opinions please?

I like it very much! I've looked at Bolton from 28 onwards as they have good fixtures and, as you say, rotate well with Sess/McClean, but do you think Ryo will get enough game time?

I've actually been looking at Mark Davies.

It is for GW 28, and then BAE will probably be fit and I will most likely get Skrtel.
Krul AND Santon is ok for me, cause I will most weeks start BAE,Evans and Skrtel, besides he's very cheap and I also have him in my team NOW.
Dempsey, will I scout for next two , where he will get loads of points πŸ™‚

any other Vermaelen owner keepin faith in him? i can easily swap him out this week for free, but lookin at arsenal's fixtures there's potential for clean sheets after this week's tottenham game.. and he's back at CB.. surely another goal or two left in him over their upcomin run

Any investment in arsenal at the the moment seems silly (outside of my nickname - that is hard!),ets see what the next 3/4 gw bring. Although there is a 7-1 in the back of my mind, but even in that the verm got diddly squat .
