The Dugout Discussion returns for an evening shift at the Emirates, as fourth-placed Arsenal take on sixth-placed Newcastle United in the penultimate fixture of Gameweek 28. If Newcastle have serious Champions League ambitions, then a good result tonight is a must. That sets us up for a potentially entertaining evening, with Arsenal currently enjoying a great spell of form. The team news from the capital is in, and the line-ups are as follows…

Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Rosicky, Song, Arteta, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, van Persie.

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Williamson, Coloccini, Santon, Obertan, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Tiote, Gutierrez, Ba.

Arsene Wenger makes one change from the side that unsuccessfully attempted to over-haul Milan mid-week, with Mikel Arteta coming in for Gervinho. Intriguingly, that means another start for Alex Oxlade Chamberlain with Theo Walcott operating on the opposite flank.

Despite promising an attacking mentality tonight, Alan Pardew has reverted to a 4-5-1 formation, with Papiss Cisse making way for Gabriel Obertan. There’s also a forced change with Ryan Taylor missing out with the calf strain. In comes Hatem Ben Arfa.

        I find that film to be overrated. Not to say it isn't good, because it really is, but it seems like one of them films that it's 'cool' to like even though it's probably a 7/10 rather than a 9/10 as some people will tell you.

      Ba to Pog could work really well. It makes a nice transition to get rid of Dempsey in a few weeks and still maintain Fulham attacking cover which is cheaper.

          Yep, that was Wigan though... still, he is a massive player at Swansea and his big assist and goal threat. It's really close and I suppose you want to play positive, get points on the board not hold your breath hoping you don't lose them.... it's very close between Kelly and Siggy.

      Whe I watched it I thought it had been flicked onto Verm by an Arsenal head, but it actually came off a Newcastle player.

      Overall good team, alot spent on keepers.
      I would think about moving Zamora out, he has a tough run off games.
      Hard to know with Mata and Chelsea also have a tough run off games.

        Yes a lot has been spent on keepers, and paying off handsomely so far. Thinking of Zamora -> Pogre soon, then Mata -> Bale if price and form permitting. What do you think of Bardsley moving out in the coming gameweeks? Or should I send Krul off and bring in Mignolet instead when Sess comes back?

      I'd be tempted to bench Siggy (am playing McLean over him. I'd play BAE and Skrtel and probs Siggy unless you fancy doubling up on Newcastle just now.

      AJAY, still unsure about King, doesn't play every week as we know, Ridgwell is a better option IMO, WBA are solid and Ridgewell has some attacking potential. But thinking given WBA are away to Newcastle, it'd be a waste of a transfer to bench him ,so might wait an extra week and do 2 FTs in GW31 to get him and Ade in.

        Yeah I am getting cold feet about doubling on Newc now.

        I was just flirting with the idea of King when I saw the price. Gallas is back soon so will end up sticking with BAE. May dabble in Kaboul if i need cash. Ridgewell/McAuley/Caulker (got Vorm though) coming in for Taiwo soon.

              yup, main rival owns Yak so I'm not touching him, Ade is also on pens. Really don't see anyone else worth owning other than Odemwingie who is frankly as unreliable as Ade, he did to me what Ade did to you.

        I am a little cautious about Bale and i don't know why. My hunches usually are quite accurate. And i think walcott is looking very good, he has goals, assists and baps in him with some decent fixtures. It's hard to resist him.

    Am tearing my hair out over it, cant imagine what itll be like by the end of the week. Currently tempted to leave BAE and Kelly on the bench and play two of Ryo, Gylfi and McClean. But who? And what order on the bench?

      Ryo @ at stuffy Villa side could be a bore draw and he might not shine in that one

      McClean @ Blackburn will be an open game so I would play him

      Siggy @ Fulham is a decent shout. I'm gonna start him.

      BAE trumps Kelly for attacking potential.

      In summary I would go BAE and McClean

      Newcastle not as good away. Not many better options. I plan on keeping him until GW31 when I will ship him for Ade, unless you can come up with a better long-term prospect.
