Kenny Dalglish names an attacking line-up, desperate to put an end to his prolonged set of horrendous results. Andy Carroll partners Luis Suarez, and Steven Gerrard returns to the starting eleven.

Celebrating 10 years of continuous employment this week, David Moyes could see his side leap-frog their city rivals with a win. It’s surprising then that, despite his winner against Spurs, Nikica Jelavic is dropped to the bench along with John Heitinga. In their place, Denis Stracqualursi and Phil Jagielka come in.

        Tis what I deduce from the BBC anyway:

        He's been superb early on - and Arjen Robben has drawn Bayern Munich level here. Thomas Muller shoots from range, it deflects off a defender and runs into the path of Robben, who has time to steady himself before firing in low.
