Kenny Dalglish names an attacking line-up, desperate to put an end to his prolonged set of horrendous results. Andy Carroll partners Luis Suarez, and Steven Gerrard returns to the starting eleven.

Celebrating 10 years of continuous employment this week, David Moyes could see his side leap-frog their city rivals with a win. It’s surprising then that, despite his winner against Spurs, Nikica Jelavic is dropped to the bench along with John Heitinga. In their place, Denis Stracqualursi and Phil Jagielka come in.

also was practically pissing myself when i saw the bayern result because I thought I had forgot to sub my bayern players in (gomez and kroos) but thankfully did that last week so saved myself from that embarrassing mistake

        Haha. Yeah same. I've played against my old man the last couple of season. Have taken ten straight lotto tickets off him so far 🙂 A lotto ticket for each H2H match, total points and league position... I'm concerned he's starting to learn from his past mistakes.

What do you think about Saha?

Benched last week because of the gentleman agreement and should be back in starting team?

      It's true. Although it ended up only being partly followed, as Harry played him in the 2nd half.
      
      I find Saha's spot a bit too risky. Have to feel VDV finds his way back in soon and I suspect that puts Saha to the bench. He is an injury risk as well (obviously VDV is, too).

    If its true, it would be good news for Bale and I may not want Saha. But why should he switches to 4-4-1-1? You think their current poor form is something with their formation?
    
    If any Bolton striker is worth for investment, I might buy one instead of Saha.. Ngog is unreliable and I haven't watched Klasnic for a while.

      Well Modric/Kranjcar can are capable of taking up one of the wings till Lennon's out.
      
      Mainly due to the return of VDV in the hole. Time to go back to the basics for 'Arry. They don't seem to have the cutting edge in the final third over the last few games, so I feel the Dutchman is what they need sorely.
      
      I really think this is Van da Vaaaaaaaart time once again, Natt.

        and Moyes said Spurs "is the best side to come here this season"
        
        the recent slump in results has been mixed with the former image of how Spurs "used to be" and taken things out of perspective

I'd like to join the outpouring of success stories. After a very tough first half of the season, Mr & Mrs China Mag are sitting joint top and second in one mini league, and are second and third in the main money league, 30 pts behind the leader.         If Young isn't playing, to me it means that he is being rested for the premier league. I suspect Ferguson would have a team for europe and a team for the premier in mind. I thought Young looked VERY good at the weekend.

    OK. In my humble opinion (which has been wrong many times this season).....
    
    1) Santon. I didn't think he was THAT bad against Walcott. Pardew said he was feeling his groin, which is the last thing that you want against a speedster. As we do not have any better options (Perch and Raylor are NOT better options), I think he plays as long as he is fit. Especially against Norwich. And if he does play, he has a good chance of assists.
    
    2) Demba Ba is playing against Norwich at home. Enough said. Almost certain that Dave will start, which means Ba dropping a bit back, but as has been stated on he many times before, that is no different to when he was playing earlier in the season with Best or Ameobi
    
    3) Not heard anything on Simpson, Ba was playing up front on his own, and made several sprints into defence to help out, Including in the last couple of minutes. Of course he was knackered!!!! Should be fine for the weekend. Mrs China Mag is thinking of captaining him.
    
    4) Any more?

        I don't see why not. Hit the bar, and missed a penalty against sunderland. We were set up for a draw against arsenal so he hardly saw the ball. We won't play that way for many more games this season. Already played all of the big boys away (chelsea aren't a worry!).

        And I'm worried about his partnership with Cisse. The way I see it, it's helping Newcastle more than it's helping Ba. You might say it's been the same way with Ameobi and Best, but Cisse is more of a poacher than any of those two, imho.

        It will work against him in that there will be two real targets for the midfield to aim for, rather than just one (would you pass to best or ameobi if you had the option of passing to Ba?), but it will work for him in that he will have somebody to pass to (more assists) and the defence will have to keep more of an eye on dave, so less on Ba. Difficult to say overall. I would say he is not quite as good a prospect as he was earlier in the season, but still decent for the price.

Possible FPL dark horses ready to bolt

VDV - Spurs need to change things up urgently. Going back to a 4411 having VDV 'in the hole' could be the way forward for them

Tevez - Citeh are in dire need to reinvigorate their offense, particularly in away matches. The return of the king could be just what they need.
