It’s a tricky weekend for Fantasy managers. The upcoming FA Cup Sixth Round almost gives us as much concern as the four league fixtures over Saturday and Sunday themselves, with seven teams in action before the gameweek resumes in midweek. While the likes of Spurs and Chelsea could be ready to rotate ahead, sides such as Sunderland and Everton will be keen to field stronger lineups, with David Moyes particularly determined to atone for the Mersyeside derby defeat at Liverpool last Tuesday evening:

Moyes was typically vague ahead of the weekend home tie against Sunderland this morning. While Steven Pienaar is cup-tied for the Toffees and Darron Gibson remains sidelined with a knee problem, the Everton boss revealed he has a couple of concerns though, as usual, refused to name names:

We picked up a couple of niggling injuries from the game in midweek. I’ll need to see if they’re going to be fit and available for the game. We’re not sure yet, but we’ll wait and see.

Tony Pulis yesterday confirmed Thomas Sorensen will be in goal for this Sunday’s FA Cup trip to Liverpool. With the Potters boss keeping one keeper for cup competitions and one for the league, it seems to underline the fact that Asmir Begovic has jumped ahead of the Dane in the pecking order for top-flight matches. Pulis spoke more on the situation, going on to concede:

The great thing about the last couple of weeks is that Asmir’s come into the team and played really well. He’d had a spell in the team just before he was left out where he looked a little bit tired, a bit jaded and made a few mistakes. But he’s come back in refreshed and looked the part, and he deserves to be playing in the league. Now Thomas gets his chance.

With three matches in the next seven days, Owen Coyle has admitted he’ll make a couple of changes for Bolton’s FA Cup clash with Spurs. The Trotters boss looks likely to prioritise the upcoming league clashes against Villa and Blackburn as he plots his side’s bid for survival and with the likes of Marvin Sordell cup tied and Chris Eagles struggling with a hamstring strain, Coyle looks set to utilise his squad for the clash against Harry Redknapp’s side this Saturday.

David Luiz has revealed he is struggling to overcome an ankle problem ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup game against Leicester. The centre-half admitted he played through the pain barrier in Wednesday’s Champions League win over Napoli and with John Terry failing to finish the match, the pair could well be two of several changes Roberto Di Matteo makes this weekend, with Wednesday’s league game at City also in his thinking.

Ryan Taylor and Cheik Tiote are continuing to be assessed ahead of Newcastle’s match with Norwich on Sunday. The former missed last Monday’s trip to Arsenal due to a calf problem, while the Magpies midfield enforcer limped out of the Emirates clash holding his thigh, with Alan Pardew hopeful Tiote’s problem was no more than cramp.

Sir Alex Ferguson was quick to point out the importance of Sunday’s trip to Wolves in last night’s Europa League press conference. While magnanimous in defeat, with United beaten in both legs by Athletic Bilbao, Ferguson quickly turned his attentions to domestic duties, indicating his thoughts are firmly on establishing a four point lead over City this weekend:

Obviously we now have to make sure we win on Sunday against Wolverhampton Wanderers. We decided to take off Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and, eventually, Ryan Giggs because we have to think about Sunday.

While the Mail and Mirror both suggest Wayne Rooney is nursing a knock, United’s official site published an article on the possible doubts for the Wolves game earlier this morning- Rooney was not mentioned, suggesting he’s on course to continue his remarkable run of goalscoring form this weekend.

In his early morning Friday press conference, Paul Lambert announced new boy Johnny Howson has recovered from illness and is available for Norwich this weekend. While Daniel Ayala and Marc Tierney both remain sidelined, the pair are expected to return to training next week. James Vaughan is still on the road to recovery.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Well he got goal and assist in Che win in CL. He is under consideration, but still I see value in expensive defense and attack nowadays. I might bring him but still haven't decided on. Well the thing is that RVP and Roonster are such big options for captaincy till the end which complicates the thing little bit. Last year they had tough fixtures and Lamps was great captain and I went for him.

Bottom line: Lamps and Graham/ Holt or Drogs/Suarez/Ade and Morrison/Surman depends on the cash. That is the question IMO

Stevie is tempting, it just depends what games he'll play. I cant see him playing in the Fa Cup and then in midweek, still think Kenny will be careful with him, so it could get tricky to predict when he'll play.

all good points, really don't want to hang onto silva - even if he does do well the fact that 40% of players own him means no great jump up the rankings - other option I was looking at is walcott but I don't think everton away will be easy...

I heard/think Silva is still having injury issues, his foot or something, cant remember, that could explain a lot tho in terms of his dip in form.

I think Theo is the front runner for me, Arsenal have goals in them, he seems first choice, although the Everton wont be easy, they have decent fixtures after that. Bare mind he'll be up against Baines, who isnt a great defender and who maraudes forward, which will benefit Walcott, he loves space to run into

I would say that of the 10 games remaining that even if all 100% fit, Young/Valencia/Nani will all be benched in at least 2 games.

Well if they are all gonna rotate equally then you could say 2 of them will be rested for 3 games and 1 for 2 games. Valencia could play RB tho at home in th easier games.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking.

I think with Smalling, Jones and Rafael fit, it's unlikely that Valencia will play rightback, apart from moving back during a game.

          God knows.
I'm ditching Ivanovic, Nani and Downing and either Yak or Suarez and bringing in Jevans and Rooney and two midfielders yet to be decided. Nobody in midfield appeals to me apart from stupid punts.

Is Ivan not worth keeping? Downing will totes get an assist or goal next gameweek now, just to piss u off! 😉

I know what u mean, theirs like Bale & Dempsey and then all the other options are either a bit rubbish, injured, rotation risks or are around the 6m mark so arent generally really reliable.

Can I keep Downing? I feel like I'm a complete idiot if I keep hold of him but he's playing okay and you have decent fixtures.
Ivanovic might be worth keeping but he's so frigging expensive.

Walcott's a good midfield option IMO - playing well, fairly nailed on, good position and Arsenal are in form.

I know what your saying about Downing but rotation and a serious lack of FPL points is against him. I know what u mean about Ivan, just always fancy him for some attacking points.

Im probably gonna do Nani -> Walcott (for the third time this season 🙁 )

I may get him in for Dempsey when their fixtures ease up. If Spurs play two up front then Bale isn't worth almost 10 mill.

If you were going to take the hit this week, I'd do B.

Rooney is destined to score against a weak Wolves side and Dempsey home against Swansea is a tasty prospect.
