It’s a tricky weekend for Fantasy managers. The upcoming FA Cup Sixth Round almost gives us as much concern as the four league fixtures over Saturday and Sunday themselves, with seven teams in action before the gameweek resumes in midweek. While the likes of Spurs and Chelsea could be ready to rotate ahead, sides such as Sunderland and Everton will be keen to field stronger lineups, with David Moyes particularly determined to atone for the Mersyeside derby defeat at Liverpool last Tuesday evening:

Moyes was typically vague ahead of the weekend home tie against Sunderland this morning. While Steven Pienaar is cup-tied for the Toffees and Darron Gibson remains sidelined with a knee problem, the Everton boss revealed he has a couple of concerns though, as usual, refused to name names:

We picked up a couple of niggling injuries from the game in midweek. I’ll need to see if they’re going to be fit and available for the game. We’re not sure yet, but we’ll wait and see.

Tony Pulis yesterday confirmed Thomas Sorensen will be in goal for this Sunday’s FA Cup trip to Liverpool. With the Potters boss keeping one keeper for cup competitions and one for the league, it seems to underline the fact that Asmir Begovic has jumped ahead of the Dane in the pecking order for top-flight matches. Pulis spoke more on the situation, going on to concede:

The great thing about the last couple of weeks is that Asmir’s come into the team and played really well. He’d had a spell in the team just before he was left out where he looked a little bit tired, a bit jaded and made a few mistakes. But he’s come back in refreshed and looked the part, and he deserves to be playing in the league. Now Thomas gets his chance.

With three matches in the next seven days, Owen Coyle has admitted he’ll make a couple of changes for Bolton’s FA Cup clash with Spurs. The Trotters boss looks likely to prioritise the upcoming league clashes against Villa and Blackburn as he plots his side’s bid for survival and with the likes of Marvin Sordell cup tied and Chris Eagles struggling with a hamstring strain, Coyle looks set to utilise his squad for the clash against Harry Redknapp’s side this Saturday.

David Luiz has revealed he is struggling to overcome an ankle problem ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup game against Leicester. The centre-half admitted he played through the pain barrier in Wednesday’s Champions League win over Napoli and with John Terry failing to finish the match, the pair could well be two of several changes Roberto Di Matteo makes this weekend, with Wednesday’s league game at City also in his thinking.

Ryan Taylor and Cheik Tiote are continuing to be assessed ahead of Newcastle’s match with Norwich on Sunday. The former missed last Monday’s trip to Arsenal due to a calf problem, while the Magpies midfield enforcer limped out of the Emirates clash holding his thigh, with Alan Pardew hopeful Tiote’s problem was no more than cramp.

Sir Alex Ferguson was quick to point out the importance of Sunday’s trip to Wolves in last night’s Europa League press conference. While magnanimous in defeat, with United beaten in both legs by Athletic Bilbao, Ferguson quickly turned his attentions to domestic duties, indicating his thoughts are firmly on establishing a four point lead over City this weekend:

Obviously we now have to make sure we win on Sunday against Wolverhampton Wanderers. We decided to take off Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and, eventually, Ryan Giggs because we have to think about Sunday.

While the Mail and Mirror both suggest Wayne Rooney is nursing a knock, United’s official site published an article on the possible doubts for the Wolves game earlier this morning- Rooney was not mentioned, suggesting he’s on course to continue his remarkable run of goalscoring form this weekend.

In his early morning Friday press conference, Paul Lambert announced new boy Johnny Howson has recovered from illness and is available for Norwich this weekend. While Daniel Ayala and Marc Tierney both remain sidelined, the pair are expected to return to training next week. James Vaughan is still on the road to recovery.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Folks,

I brought Adam in during DGW. Received from him..... nothing. Yes I know.... you warned me.

    What do do with him?

Shall I keep him for next two weeks (easy ones, hoping that he does something), or I shall get rid of him for Theo Walcott, but for a hit.

    Just done:

Nani > Valencia to make funds for
    Suarez > Rooney (c)

With McClean on bench in case Valencia doesn't play

Feeling a bit sick, tell me it wasn't madness?

Cheers, feeling better now. Thinking Silva to Gerrard (WIG) next week, if he keeps playing.

Rooney now seems a must and Valencia will start playing soon, if not this week. Maybe before Nani.

Also Suarez playing Sunday then away to QPR three days later. Reckon Liverpool more interested in FA Cup than PL now, so could be flat performance against QPR, who are fighting for survival.....

Captaincy is a bugger this week.

RVP - Everton have kept 3 CS in a row at home, they played, City, Chelsea and Spurs. Impressive.
Rooney - Slight doubt, could be risky.
Dempsey - Home form but for some reason he never appeals to me.
Bale - Good fixture, FA Cup match before, risk.
Suarez - Think he could be in for a good GW against QPR, but like Bale, has an FA Cup game.

Agreed. I reckon Rooney will play every game for the rest of the season, unless injured, with nothing but beating City to the title to play for.

Not a rotation risk, unlike Young, Nani, Valencia, Welbeck, Hernandez etc who will all rotate around him...

Leading = play it safe, unless they're fairly close to catching you. I'm about 60 points ahead of my mini league and am finding that the (C) choice isn't as big a deal if your entire team has the potential of raking in the points.

As I've just looked this up but page has moved, further to question about Fulham's away record and why's it so bad.

    Here's their historic away record

    10/11 W 3, D 9, L 7
    09/10 W 1 D 7, L 11
    08/09 W 3 D 8 L 8
    07/08 W 3 D 7 L 9
    06/07 W 1, D 8 L 10
    05/06 W 1, D 4 L 14

    This season so far W 2, D 5 L 7

So won 14 away games in nearly 7 seasons.

Mental given theirs been different managers and everything during that period.

Could you do one of these posts for every one of your ML rivals? They're really good fun and not at all soul-destroyingly repetitive.

    Hi guys
Any suggestions on improving my team?

    Vorm (Sorensen)
    Senderos Santon Evans (Enrique Cahill)
    McClean Bale Silva Dempsey (Pilkington)
    Rvp Aguero Suarez

I am trying to beat my cup opponent. His team
    Reina (Henny)
Walker Luiz BAE Richards (A Cole)
    Bale Pilkington Dempsey Murphy (Pilkington)
    RVP Sturridge (Graham)

    I am thinking
    Aguero -> Rooney, Cahill ->Caulker

I think the captain decision this week should be based on 'when do I want to feel good?' - is it Saturday (Dempsey)? Sunday (Rooney)? Or midweek (Bale / RVP)? Or, if you're one for a midweek moan, how about Suarez?

How does this look? Thinking of saving a transfer:

    Schwarzer
    Skrtel Evans Simpson
    Dempsey Bale Young Siggy
    RVP(v) Rooney(c) Suarez

    Mignolet Miyaichi Enrique Caulker

0.2 in the bank, 1 FT. Any changes?

And Ba, start firing again this GW?

Alreet. Still no news on raylors injury. But i can't see him getting in the team as oop. Barfa has earned a decent run. Possibly at left back, but for me, even though Santon hasn't been great, he's still been infinitely better than raylor. Though pardew might decide to rest santon v norwich.

Mrs China Mag is probably going to captain Ba, so yes, I think he will start firing.

It looks to me like the chickens have finally come to roost and Raylor has stopped defying logic.

I have Santon and because he was recently subbed off for Raylor (I think at halftime) I was worried that his place at LB might be under threat from Raylor (again inexplicably, as Santon is a new marquee signing and a quality player). Any risk?

What's up with Ba? Why's he not doing it like he was earlier?
