With the dust finally settled from Gameweek 29, we can now reflect on how our remaining 16 fantasy managers in the Members Paddy Power Cup II came through their fifth round tie, and how they now pair off in the Last 16.

The full list of the 16 results can be viewed right here, which includes defeats for what were the top two-ranked contenders in the competition. Bob Fossil tasted a 52 – 45 defeat at the hands of Fuzzy Dunlop, and Daveclark85 succumbed 58 – 42 to howie_c.

That now makes 1,543rd in the world KevIRL our ‘favourite’ (which almost certainly signals imminent elimination). He’ll face Bend It Like Bennett in the sixth round.

Here are the eight fixtures that make up the Last 16…

1Bend It Like BennettVs.KevIRL
2Sleep TalkVs.mch
3Back to Back BallacksVs.Fuzzy Dunlop
4PablodVs.conor2me
5howie_cVs.rocket science
6petergriffVs.BilboBaggins
7Louie1Vs.followthehearts
8The LordVs.kno

Only two of the remaining Fantasy managers are ranked outside the top 30,000 and the luck of the draw has paired them together. Rank-outsider Padlod sits 100,096th overall, and has pulled out the best draw he could have hoped for in the 36,049th in the world, conor2me.

All fixtures to be played across Gameweek 30. Good luck to all involved!

Hi fellas, any suggestions for transfer this GW for my team? I've got 2 frees:

    Vorm/Schwarzer
    Skrtel, Enrique, Evans, Simpson, Kelly,
    Silva, Bale, Dempsey, Valencia, McClean
    RVP, Rooney, Ba

    Was thinking:
    Silva/Dempsey -> Walcott

Save the other a free for next GW.

just looking at captain. I have rooney, RVP, suarez up front. I know RVP is the obvious one, but I have just checked out Villa away from home. They have only conceded 18 goals away from home this season...

It really is a flip of a coin. The bookies don't even agree...

      Odds for 1, 2, 3 goals.

      Rooney on William Hill: 1.50, 3.25, 11.00
Van Persie on William Hill: 1.25, 2.62, 5.00

      Rooney on Paddy Power: 1.40, 2.80, 6.50
Van Persie on Paddy Power: 1.50, 3.20, 8.00

Exactly why I'm going with Rooney. Still very nervous about it though 😛

I'm going with Rooney solely because it's Monday night so whatever rank I have Sunday should surely be improved on.

RvP if you want to be like the majority. Rooney if your heart tells you he will score more. Siggy if you want to gamble on potentially massive score.

Siggy?! Crikey. You'd need balls of steel!!

You would need balls of stell for Suarez not Siggy...he scores regularly in the Prem 😉

I dont like the Siggy one - I dont think he could potentially get a massive score, but could get a goal and some bonus maybe.

I am going for Rooney - he seems to do well against Fulham. Also, Fulham got beaten 3-0 at home by Swansea so may be low on confidence. United are trying to increase their goal difference in case it comes down to that, so will be looking to score as many as possible. Aston Villa will be very well rested with the Bolton match having been called off, and it might be tougher for Arsenal.

You need to play one more player. I'd suggest Kompany.

Team set for battle this week:

    Krul
    JEvans, Enrique, Cahill
    Valencia, Walcott, Siggurdson, McClean
    RVP (C), Rooney (VC), Suarez

(Bogdan - Simpson, Dempsey, Kelly) £2.8M in the bank.

Feeling quite positive about a good score this week. What do you reckon?
