Glossing over another near miss last Gameweek – Wayne Rooney’s contribution deserved a goal but it just didn’t come – we look ahead to a weekend bathed in sunshine and lathered in goals.

As the Premier League heats up for the final furlong, three home games take our fancy, and as per usual, Paddy Power have made some tempting specials for us to test our Flutter tenner.

First up is Swansea’s Icelandic midfielder, Gylfi Thor Sigurdsson. The hammer blows cast in two of his last three outings have suddenly transformed Swansea into a top eight side – his Norse god namesake proud. Paddy have him at 6/1 to get a goal and Swansea to keep a clean sheet against Everton, which is likely the best business of the weekend. With the stats backing this up, seven home cleanies and five goals in just shy of 690 minutes of pitch time, our first Flutter fiver is spent.

Each week, Luis Suarez puts in his now customary workhorse performance with a dollop of flair, but fails to notch a goal. With Wigan at Anfield this weekend, is the scene set for Suarez to finally deliver? A Suarez goal and Liverpool to get a cleansheet at 6/4 doesn’t seem very generous from Paddy, but as the Latics have continued to struggle for goals, there is some value there to balance the risk. We’re going to take a pass on this one though and save our pennies, as a red-hot Antonio Valencia is up next.

Valencia’s return from his near career ending leg break has been an exceptional one. Back in his stride with goals and assists flowing, he and Man United, are looking good to stay the distance at the top of the table, even with the magic touch of Carlos Tevez returning to their sky blue neighbours. Paddy offer 4/1 on Valencia to provide yet another assist and United to keep a clean sheet at home to Fulham. An easy choice for our Flutter’s remaining fiver.

Our final bet is a clean-sheet treble of Man United, Liverpool and Swansea. Paddy are offering a fairly promising 7/1 on this, a price hard to beat, yet with away goals all the rage in last week’s fixtures, hitting the treble may be a bit too much of an ask.

Money Back Specials

There are two refund specials on offer from Paddy this weekend, starting at the London derby at Stamford Bridge. If Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard or John Terry score the last goal of this game, Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match up to £100 per customer. Similarly, down at the Britannia, if Aguero scores the last goal in City’s clash with Stoke, Paddy will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match up to £100 per customer.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Good to go for this week?

    Mignolet
    Enrique, Evans, Skertl
    Walcott, Bale, Valencia, Siggy
    RVP, Rooney,Suarez

    Subs – Krul, Caulker,Dempsey,Senderos

Haven’t decided on Captain yet. League leader will captain RVP but he does not have Rooney, 33 pts behind so i am trying to decide if i should mirror his captain and hope that Rooney, Valencia, Siggy score well as he does not have them. He does have Mata and Downing!! though.

      I'd say captain RVP.

RVP has more potential and spreads your risk.

33 points is minimal, there is no point taking risks when you're that close.

I'd back Rooney, Valencia and Siggy to outscore Mata, Downing and whoever else he has.

I do think Mata will come away with atleast an assist though- Tottenham can't defend set pieces to save themselves

Suarez has been improving in form and is due a brace.

In H2H, if you do Rooney(c) you cancel the point from captain of your opponent, you need to look if the rest can win the game for you.. If they cannot, you might need to do RvP(c).

If Rooney(c) was success, you will close the gap in mini-league too.. 🙂

Anyway, bottom line, just predict who will score more points and captain the one you believe.

lads, first sign of madnes perhaps, am thinking of a one week gamble on the worlds greatest striker, bendtner (home v QPR)
i only have 7.2 for my third striker, just missed out on odem. already have rooney and rvp, chasing a 20 point lead and feel that bendtner (2 goals in 4 games) cud just come good, for one week only.

    Madness or inspired?
    What other options have i?!

with chico bagging a couple last week is difficult to predict starting lineup from SAF and you have utd cover with Roo, hoillet is not a bad shout as has bagged a few in last couple of games but probably unlikely to play him next week away at Utd. The Yak also on option of course if looking at Blackburn.

While we can debate decisions for hour on end, more often than not your initial instinct pays off. I have changed my mind a couple of times at the last minute in the last couple of GW's and lost points so sticking with my initial instinct this week.

            ...until 11:28am.....

Therefore dont write bendtner off just because no love - no love can equal differential.

    Mignolet
    Evans, Enrique, Naylor
    Bale, Yaya, McLean, Valencia

Definitely a part, but not an attacking getting forward part. With their discombobulated defense (minus Kompany, minus Lescott, plus nut job DeJong), he will have to stay further back than usual. Stoke no pushover at home and they are strong on set pieces. I think City will need Yaya to stay home more, which means less points.

Like him, just the role I'm expecting isn't designed for points.

    WHO? I'll tell you who.

Home v Swansea – 10 (No clean sheet)
Home v QPR – 11 (No clean sheet)
    Home v Bolton – 10 (Clean sheet).

This guy relishes getting forward against the smaller teams, no doubt his confidence has grown and he’ll be improving on these scores this week.

Both at home. Think Sunderland have more clean sheets at home recently but are playing qpr who are fighting for survival. Swansea play everton who haven't exactly scored much away but are difficult to break down. Sunderland and everton are both playing in the FA cup so will want a full strength team for that game.
