An inspired display from Antonio Valencia helps stretch United’s lead at the top over City. Ashley Young also gets amongst the goals as the champions leave it late at Blackburn, while Wayne Rooney draws a blank for the second time in three Gameweeks.

Antonio Valencia
A goal and assist from the Ecuadorian continued an outstanding run of form that has firmly established him as United’s prime midfield Fantasy asset. Since cementing a role on the right flank back in Gameweek 14, Valencia has produced attacking returns in nine of his fourteen appearances, with five double figure points hauls indicative of his explosive performances. Having missed three games with a hamstring strain, his price dropped as low as 7.5 as recent as Gameweek 29 but Valencia has already risen 0.6 since, with his paltry 10% ownership continuing to rapidly climb. He’s now level with Gareth Bale in terms of point per game, with an average of 5.8, and with (QPR, wig, AVL, EVE) up next, the points look set to keep flowing.

Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney
With Nani still sidelined, Young looked to be the main contender for the left wing position but yesterday’s team sheet caused consternation, with Rooney moved to the flank as Young sat on the bench. Although Rooney was switched centrally later on, his Fantasy managers will be far from enamoured with last night’s turn of events ahead of United’s upcoming run. The same applies to Young; although the former Villa man sealed the victory with a late second, he was afforded just 12 minutes by Sir Alex Ferguson at Ewood Park last night and, with the likes of Danny Welbeck also filling in on the flanks in recent weeks, it appears his game time is far from guaranteed.

Jonny Evans
Still with under 12% Fantasy ownership, the centre-half continued his superb recent run of returns with a fourth consecutive clean sheet at Ewood Park. With a goal, assist and four bonus points also accrued over those matches, Evans has returned 37 points since the start of Gameweek 28; Rooney, in comparison, has picked up 26 points. Evans is now up to 5.2, and with almost 100,000 bringing him in over the last fortnight, a hike in price is again on the cards as more arrive late to the party.

Rafael
Finally free from injury, the Brazilian maintained his recent starting berth against Blackburn. Despite the likes of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling both offering alternatives for the right-back role, Rafael has now started the last three for United and seems to be cementing his place as first-choice under Ferguson. An assist for Valencia’s opener last night means he has now picked up attacking returns or bonus in each of those three appearances – with three clean sheets also thrown in, an average of 9 points per game and ownership of less than 1% could be tempting for those Fantasy managers who have yet to invest in Evans.

Even more happy this morning now the BPs are in.
Was chasing a 104 pt lead about 5-6 weeks ago. With the 4 its this morning it's down to 20!
I know my rival is nervous and he's made a transfer already and I'm sure he's brought in Valencia.
Our teams are similar identical. Who do you think has the better diff players?

    Me
    EVANS - CAHILL - WALKER - SIMPSON - ENRIQUE
    VALENCIA - WALCOTT - SIGGY
    POG

    Him
SKRTEL - RAYLOR - BAE - DE LAET!!!! (LOL)
SONG - SESS - SILVA (will be amazed if Valencia isn't there now)
    CISSE

Pog is now a bit of an albatross around my neck.
I have no money for anyone else and his price is coming down 🙁
Looking at Klasnic with the DGW in mind but the minutes aren't there for him.

        I know! LOL
A major reason why I have to beat him!

My biggest downfall this year was 4 weeks of totally terrible captain choices.
Captained Torres twice in two weeks when he scored about 2 pts and got stuffed by the Rooney debacle over Chrimbo.

I've had such a poor season but it's coming good now.

Remember last year the second top scoring player in the whole game was Adam, who started off at 5 million. Then you had the cheap consistent players such as Carroll (5m), Walker(4m), VDV (7.5m) etc. off the top of my head

    Hart
Evans Caulker | Baines Cahill Kelly
Valencia McClean Siggy Walcott | Dempsey
    RVP Rooney | Papiss

I was planning Kelly->Turner next to give me 10 players and then bringing in Ade, Bale and Kaboul/friedal for gw36. BUT Tottenham have a couple of good fixtures coming up, should i sacrifice Turner for gw34 and bring in a Tott player instead?

Maybe not. But Adebayor, Bale and Siggy all got points and i can see their form continuing. Tottenham and Swansea look very strong at the moment. I take it the answer is no then and just bring in Turner 🙂

      Benching. I have a front 7 of:

      Valencia, Bale, McClean, Siggy,
      Rooney, RVP, Cisse.

Bale is the only one out of that lot who I might consider benching instead of Dempsey.

    regarding gwks 34/36

    would you

    a) play surman or holt (home to man city) giving me 11 players and use a transfer before gwk34 to get in a player for the doubleweek

    b) get a player in for surman or holt that plays in gwk34 with a nice fixture (mclean/sess/bendtner) and have one less double gwk player for 36

A gives you 2 Norwich players home to City. Carrow Road is a tough place to play and they play at a high tempo. I think you should play them both and use the transfer for the DGW player.

Do you mean make a transfer before GW34, bringing in a DGW player? If so, why not just save it? I'd do a) myself. Stick with an XI for 34 and save the transfers for the DGW.

    Vorm (Krul)
    Evans Verm ShawX (Williamson) (Assou-Ekotto)
    Siggy Valencia Bale McClean (Dempsey)
    Sturidge Roo RVP

just feels wrong putting those players on the bench..

i hate having 15 players which are all in with a good fixture

i'm considering bringing in cisse for a 4pt hit, currently have pog who will be benched 34 anyway, but do you think its worth it to waste 4pts for a player who is goin to be benched in 34.

just think his next two games might be worth it

only other option is bentner who wont be benched that week, but i'll still want cisse in for 36 and the run in, and by that stage he could be out of my price range
