Just the one Premier League to concentrate on this evening, as Blackburn look to battle for points against a Liverpool side desperately looking for a change of fortunes ahead of their FA Cup semi-final with Everton. Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to welcome your real-time chatter as the game unfolds.

The team news from Ewood is interesting and somewhat predictable. While Steve Kean tinkers by bringing in Mauro Formica and Marcus Olsson for Morten Gamst-Pedersen and Jason Lowe, his opposite number has a different agenda with the weekend cup tie in mind. Kenny Dalglish rests Steven Gerrard from his squad, whilst Luis Suarez is shifted to the bench, allowing Andy Carroll and Craig Bellamy to start up front. Glen Johnson returns to the side, with a left-back role looking likely as Jose Enrique also makes way. He sits alongside Jamie Carragher and Dan Agger as Sebastian Coates starts alongside Martin Skrtel.

Follow the action on your screens with one eye on our Dugout Discussion chat via this link.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Who would be the best striker option for GW34 out of these:

    Dzeko (Balo suspended)
    Holt
    Odemwengie
    Yakubu
    Zamora
    Bendtner
    Graham

I think it is probably Yak or Dzeko if he plays or bendtner

Is it worth getting in Sess this week even if I can already field XI players?

Would most likely be Valencia making way.

Dont think so myself, but my rival has both so just speculation tbh.

    Alreet lads. I'm back.

I was mulling over the old bale - sess then back again for the DGW switcheroo over a spot of lunch, and I think that i've ended up back where I started. In reality this would cost me two hits, rather than just one. I think. Or maybe i'm wrong. AAARRRGGGHHHHH!! Please help me out!

    Current plan:
GW34 Enrique - Turner (save an FT, play with 10)
GW35 Walcott (or Valencia) - Dempsey (or VDV, Mata)
GW36 Kompany + Rooney - Baines + Adebayor (or Jelavic or Suarez) (no hits, play with 8 doubles)

If I was to also do Bale - Sess then back again for the DGW, I'd be using up my FT this week, which I was saving for the DGW, AND doing an extra transfer to get Bale back = 2 hits

    1 hit = no brainer
2 hits = not so sure. Thoughts? Am I thinking clearly now?

I'm talking in terms of the whole plan GW34 - 36. My original plan involves no hits. But then if I also do Bale - Sess, then back again for the DGW, that will mean 2 hits. I think!

I think it will be worth it. Think of it as:

Sess vs. 4pt hit this week
          and
Bale vs. 4pt hit in the DGW

Surely both should repay the hit + MORE!

But if I didn't get sess, I wouldn't have to take the hit to get him back! So its basically an 8pt hit for Sess to play one game against Wolves.

Absolute minimum he will score will be 2 points. So that makes it 6 points. If he scores 1, I would break even on the trade.

The over under on sess for the game would probably be one goal.

I'm stuck in a similar state of mind China. Also considering Bale to Sess and then back again (pending FA Cup game / result).

I have an easy head to head in my money league GW 34 so might just leave it be and do Walcott to Sess (or similar) in 35.

So I guess it may depend on if you're chasing total points (classic style) or a head to head win.

I'll also perhaps consider Bale / VDV / Ade for 36 based on FA Cup and GW 35 form.

Sorry, not sure any of that actually helps you...

My mini league is VERY tight, so that has to be my priority at the moment. But at the end of the day, my main aim is to get as many points as I can, if I win my mini league, i will be doing well in the overall league too.

I might just leave Sess. Mrs China Mag will be getting him in this week for a free so i have him covered.

I am seriously considering putting the holy trinity back together, if spurs lose in the cup, but look better against QPR, but that would mean going without Dempsey for Wigan and the double. Currently deciding between dempsey and vdv.

Magic 8-Ball says, "Prognosis Unclear - Ask Again"

Desertbug says, "Probably not this week, (but I'd be happy if you did, cuz we have many duplicates"
I don't see City keeping clean sheet against WBA, but maybe Arsenal will vs Wolves. Swansea not as likely to on road. So we might start with 2 for Kompany. 6 for Verm. 3 for Theo, 2 for Siggy for starters. That is 13. I'll give you max 3 for Cisse (but Barfa might steal the three). That gives you 16. You need 13 more on top of that. It's a reach, but good luck. If a couple of goals come, you might get over the hump with the Baps that follow.

In the past few weeks I have started playing the game like I did 2-3 seasons ago and stop worrying about future gameweeks and rumours of injuries/rotation and just done a quick look at in-form players and fixtures and made a single trade a few hours before each deadline and I'm starting to play well again!

Hopefully I can get back to my best and finish strong this season and aim for the top 5000 finish again next season!

I sat at ten players for 34, so that I would have 8 doublers. Net gain of two matches played and it saved me some $$ that I plan to use for a couple of upgrades.

Having 10 in 34 myself as well. Have 7 doublers with current plan, would take another hit to get 8 in.. Contemplating if the hit is worth it or not (Rooney for DGW striker like Ade, Drog)

This is false. You will get the same amount of matches.

            10+ 16(8x2) + 3 =29

Is all this calculation worth it anyway? I mean, surely it only takes a ten pointer from RVP/Rooney to reduce all calculation to mere numbers?

Im not calculating points, im calculating total amount of matches.

People are getting faked out by the DGW. If you dont field 11 in 34, you get "X" amount of extra DGWs in 36, but overall will have the same TOTAL amount of matches played.

                If you have 10 playing this weekend, plus 8 dgw's(16) + 3 = 29
                If you have 11 playing this weekend, plus 7 dgw's(14) + 4 = 29

You will still get the same amount of total matches.

Yes Agreed. So,it's all about Maximising your fixtures as well as players.
I thought of this whole month.11 in GW34 first, get the point in bag and start planning next.A lot of things can change till then.
Many of us thought Bale was irreplacable for his juicy DGW but he's highest in Ship out list now.
Dempsey had tough DGW but many traded him out already for Walcott.
So,Planning is gud bt it should be changed according to situation.IMO!

For me, it was that the quality of the DGW players I want to bring in was limited by the dollars that were going to be spent to bring in for 34 and if I burned the FT for 34 to get to 11, I would have to take a hit to make the double switch that I need to make to free up the dollars.

I know that sounds convoluted, and your math about total matches is correct. It's just that not all matches are created equal.

I can't afford Cisse without making 2 transfers (of which I do have two free right now), however as I'm playing my closet rival in my money league GW 35 I could do with keeping them up my sleeve for that week.

Maybe 34: Ba > someone cheap

I just "shuffled my pack" for gw 34...

          😀

*Last year I did it in a Gw with Young/Tevez on my bench. I think they scored 18 & 10 respectively. Sweet.

10.6M to spend on a defender & midfielder for GW34 for a full 11. Thinking of Lescott and Bannan. It may look stupid to start with, but when I consider Villa DGW35 it sort of feels good.

I have no idea what to do with my FT this week. All I know is I want Dempsey and Sess in for GW35,36. Generally I'm not that keen to make defensive transfers but I wouldn't mind getting rid of Richards for someone like Baines also for the DGW. The problem is I only have 8 players for GW34. Is that really an issue? I'm keen to get the 3 players I mentioned above for DGW madness. However I would also like to add a GW34 player, what should I do?

Current team 8 players 4.9m in the bank

Richards (nor), Evans (AVL), Rangel (BLA)
Valencia (AVL), Siggy (BLA), Surman (MCI)
RVP vc (WIG), Rooney c (AVL)

Bench: Bale, B Arfa, Adebayor, Cahill, Kelly, Krul, Begovic

    GW36 team

    Krul
    Baines, Cahill, Kelly/Rangel
    Bale, Dempsey, Barfa, Siggy
    RVP, 2 of Ade/Cisse/Rooney

    7-10 DGWers

Get Sess for 34 + 35 and if you can get bendtner too ( if confirmed fit) who to take out is your choice..

A hit will pay off in both those fixtures IMO...

IMO a hit to get a def in for GW34 is NOT worth it..

Highest probability is that the def gets a CS = 6 pts - hit = 2 pts extra + a wasted transfer..

Just make sure you a starting front 7 which is more important..

You would rather use this hit elsewhere to get DGW player in..

Take a hit to get a player for 34+35 with decent enough fixtures..

That is why I hv suggested Bendy + Sess.. Sunderland are very likely to win both those fixtures and even if one of them performs only in one fixture, its win-win for you..

Hey thoughts on team for GW34 with 11 Home fixtures plus a transfer rollover to have 3 free for GW36 and 4 DGWs on the bench gw34 + hits if necessary..

This is the best I have planned all season considering not only future fixtures but also immediate fixtures too.. Got my season best 83 pts for GW32 😀

Team for GW34 after Bale > Sess

    Vorm

    Vermaelen Evans Ridgewell

    Sess Valencia Siggy Walcott

    Rvp Rooney Bendtner

Shcwarzer - Dempsey Simpson Kelly plus 1 FT to roll over..

Lesson Learned - Dont ignore your present GW scores in order to have a good future team...
Too many times I have focused on DGW team and got screwed..

MON is MON. How much can he rotate? I mean he never has had a reputation for doing so. For me, the loss should give him more motivation to field his best side to gain some momentum and confidence back, rather than put people on the chopping block. Either way, Turner has been massive for them and there's no way he'll be out. Cocky is a sound move too, if you're in the mood for gambling. I fancy Blackburn to sneak through a goal tbh.

Pretty sure Bale to Sess has to be my 1st trade unless Valencia, Siggy or Walcott get injured. He become a differential.

Tossing up on fixing up Senderos with the 2nd trade. Will likely make 4 trades after GW34 to GW36 so it's -8 or leaving Senderos = -4 but gives me one less option in defence.

Worth changing Senderos with the 2nd free? Rival will have 2 frees come GW35 & will be prepared better for it.

I’d use both freebies to get 11 starters for GW34. Bale & Senderos -> Sess/Arteta & Vermaelen/WBA defender (since you have Vorm and Turner). Does that work financially?

I could do that with 0.9 in bank. Upgrading Graham becomes a priority soon though. Rival brought in Vermaelan before the change. Will look into it. 🙂

Cool. Are you chasing him or protecting a lead?

Graham can stay until after GW36 imo, so cheapish strikers with decent fixtures in 37 and 38 leaves:

          Jelavic (wol, NEW)
          Crouch (qpr, BOL)
          Yak (WIG, che)

which shouldn't cause to much disruption to the rest of your team.

            Rivals big differential is Adebayor.

I lead by 17 but he has Caulker & Richards/1 point left.
Assume rival will get Cisse in for GW36.

I'll be confident on winning the ML if I am leading after GW36.

Becomes a lottery in GW37 & GW38, rather go for playing with something to play for so Yakubu would be fav.

In that case, get Vermaelen and Sess this week imo. Good transfers anyway and they minimise his differentials. Assume you're going Rooney -> Ade in GW36? If so, there goes another differential!

Mostly likely trade for GW36. Adebayor could go mental vs QPR so I might like to cover that differential then. Wish I had made less mistakes earlier & didn't have Graham so I could have covered Caulker aswell. Hope he repays me in GW34. Walcott missing out this GW would also get himoff the bench. I think his luck/FPL points are about to get better.

2 free transfers, 3.6m in the bank and I already have 11 starters for GW34.

Thinking Surman -> X and saving the other freebie is probably the best move. Anyone disagree?

If not, then who should be X? With the 3.6m in the bank I have a max of 8.0m for Surman's replacement. Have a few players in mind, but won't mention them incase anyone has any good ideas that I've already missed! Cheers

    Mignolet
    Kompany, Caulker, Turner, JEvans
    Siggy, Valencia, Walcott, Surman
    RVP, Rooney

    Bogdan, Skrtel, Dempsey, P Cisse

Anyone other than me thinking RVP will end his goal drought with a Hattrick tonight?

    P.S.:He's my Captain.

I thoroughly expect him to score. He's still playing well and getting chances despite not scoring in the last few. Hat-trick would be good though as he's my captain too!

I hope so. He's been unlucky not to score in recent weeks. Its not through lack of trying

Terry O Conners interview gives real hope, I will approach the game like any other and focus on our opponents weakness's. Then when asked what Arsenals weakness's are he replied none. Wolves are a club in pieces.

I did toy with the idea, but he'd have to play amazingly tonight for me to actually go through with it. Double digit score and I may well go for what would bizarely be a differential!

Yeah, annoyingly so. Great fixtures though plus he really hasn't played much the last few weeks. Maybe he got some magic treatment.....

Guys.About the bottom 5 league. One of the rule is can't change our player right ? How about if someone are injured for the rest of season ?

You can change players, just from the same clubs, i.e. 3 players x 5 teams.

Any exciting strategy nuggetts missed through the night?
How many are people fielding in gw 34?
Got 8 at the moment...thinking 9 is good which keeps a free tfr for me for gw 36 to field maybe 9 DGW players?

      My current plan is :

      11 in GW34
      2 DGWers in GW35
      7 DGWers in GW36 (4 point hit)

I guess it depends how many gw34 people already have. I think it's more fortunate to have less as you can have more dgw players without hits?
I may even stick to 8 this week and go balls out for 11 dgw players!
Dgw's often over rated but pick the right players and who knows...could make top 100!

I think I disagree with that, so long as the 11 you put out this week are pretty nailed on to start. That way, if you can afford to roll forward a transfer from GW34, you have 11 starters in GW34 and can have 7 DGWers in GW36 without a hit. Of the DGW teams Tottenham are the obvious choice and the likes of BAE/Walker/Bale/Ade are unlikely to be rotated imo. Chelsea have great fixtures for it, but only Cech, Terry & Cole are nailed on to start both if fit imo, and they're expensive for what they offer. Playing 11 now also gives you time to monitor form, injuries, suspensions etc on DGWers prior to GW36 rather than being stuck with some now and not wanting them by the time GW36 arrives.

That's my view anyway. Good luck on getting into the top 100!! I'm aiming for a top 1k finish!
