Back after a Gameweek’s absence, we’re still licking our wounds having been edged out of some winnings. Robin Van Persie let us down against Man City, so while Papiss Cisse and Wayne Rooney both held up their end of the goalscorer treble, Paddy Power got to keep our money. Not to worry, as the excitement of the Grand National builds, we dust ourselves off and jump back in the ring for another go at Paddy in this week’s Fantasy Flutter.

Wigan put together a resolute performance against league leaders United in the week, but with a trip to the Emirates immediately following, Roberto Martinez must be worried that his side have enough left in the tank. Theo Walcott has been on incisive form of late and will likely be a key figure in Wigan’s downfall. Paddy have Walcott to net and Arsenal to keep a clean sheet at 100/30, which we’ll happily open our wallets for – our first £3 is spent.

Swansea have lost four in row leading up to this weekend’s home fixture with Blackburn. They’ve slipped down the table, and only netted once whilst conceding ten. Not fantastic reading for fans and Fantasy managers alike, as faith in Gylfi Sigurdsson begins to waver. We feel that Swansea could make a Rovers recovery, though, and with the Icelandic attacking midfielder netting five times in March and April, he could be the one to bring Swansea out of their slumber. Paddy are offering 9/1 for a Sigurdsson goal and a Swansea cleansheet – that might seem a little skinny considering the abysmal Swans form, but it is definitely worth a quid of our cash.

Stephane Sessegnon is a frustrating chap. He seems to perform wonders in clusters of two or three matches, then has an off couple of weeks where he’s satisfied to collect his two Fantasy points and go home to bed. After a goalless draw and a four-nil drubbing against Everton, “Sess” will surely be looking to hit another spurt of form with three favourable fixtures on their way. The first of these is against current whipping boys Wolves, and with Paddy offering 9/2 on a Sessegnon goal and Sunderland cleansheet, our final £6 is well spent.

That’s your lot for another Flutter – good luck with your punts this weekend, particularly if you’re backing a horse in the National. Don’t forget, if you’ve yet to pick your runner, make sure you go and see our friends at Paddy Power first.

Money Back Specials

Paddy’s Money Back Special can be found at Sunday’s Emirates clash and it’s a good one. If a Robin van Persie scores the last goal in this game, Paddy will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles on the match up to a value of £100 per customer.

There’s also an FA Cup special going on: if a red card is shown in either of the FA Cup gams this weekend, Paddy will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles on that match up to a value of £100 per customer.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Who is going for Tevez? I nearly took a hit to bring him last week but havn't taken one in 6 weeks, thinking now is the time to dump Suarez after another crap gw for another trouble maker.

I might. How much game time is he likely to get though? Mancini might play Aguero as lone striker.

Thinking he will get another 60 followed by an 80 or 90, whilst Aguero could see a rest for the Man U game.

Maybe Aguero won't play for away game since his stats favor more on home game. Maybe Tevez starts as lone striker today. Maybe maybe and maybe...

I agree with this, reckon Tevez might play as lone striker this week with Silva also playing and the next week Aguero & Tevez playing with Silva given a rest prior to the Utd game when they will play Tevez, Aguero, Silva & Yaya who will be back having played the week before...

You are talking rubbish. They have no cup games and are going for the league title. Aguero, Silva and Yaya will start every game if fit. Nasri probably too on current form. I agree that he will likely play one striker at Norwich though.

He won't drop Aguero, and it's not just because I have him.
In case some people haven't noticed, it's not just Aguero not scoring away from home for City. 🙄

No worries mate, you're 7K ahead of me so you clearly better!! All speculation as normal, but still reckon Silva will be retested next week before Utd. He has tired in the second half of the season and will need to be fresh for Utd. If City can't beat Wolves without him, they don't even deserve second....good luck with Aguero.....

Silva has had a little break now and returned with a quite exquisite goal in the week. He may get hauled when the job is done but I will be surprised if Mancini doesn't start him. Good luck to you too.

Manicin will drop his top scoring striker and most lethal player who just destroyed West Brom and drop him for a rusty Tevez that doesn't even want to be at the club? Righto. Yaya will replace Tevez.

    10 potential starters this week..

    Mignolet/Vorm
    Evans, Richards, Gibbs
    Sess, Siggy, Valencia, Walcott
    RVP, Roon

My other subs all have DGW's in wk36...so is it worth taking out Gibbs for someone like Caulker or just save my tfr ?

I think Rooney has been fortunate to get the points in recent weeks. Everyone is talking about a United backlash. It could happen of course. But I am more sure that Arsenal will beat Wigan comfortably (3-0), than I am of said backlash. RVP all the way.

The fact RVP hadn't scored for 4 games made him even more appealing. Players of his class do not go on runs like this for long. Arsenal have removed a certain amount of pressure off themselve too now and have real confidence. United may be a tense affair although ultimately I fancy both Roon and RVP to prosper this weekend.

I can see it will be a cagey game since Villa try to get any points at OT. And Rooney will rely on Tony V crosses.

RVP otherwise will look for field goal after 6 games and I can Wigan play an open game since they regain their confidence.

United have scored three or more goals in six of their past eight home league meetings with Villa

Villa have won only one of their past 26 Premier League visits to Old Trafford (1-0 in December 2009)

I'd save the free transfer. Don't have too much confidence in either of the above keeping a cleanie, and this is the week where having 10 isn't going to hurt. Think the free will more useful for the DGW, and latter weeks around the FA cup.

I have posted simialr response earlier, unless you think a cleanie is highly unlikely I would keep a trade for gw36 if it means bringing in a defender in for this week and playing 11.

      6 points, could be 2 if so...better pickings in36

Others differ from my opinion on this though...

Ok little bit longer post but this is my dilemma and thinking.

On the transfer list 3 players: Senderos, Skrtel and Ade. Ade and Skrtel have double in GW 36 and Senderos is always the last name on the bench, so I could keep him why not,

On the shop list is Evra, I have decided on him so I will surely bring him but:

Option A: Skrtel to Evra = safe and no hit
Option B: Senderos to Evra and Ade to Gabby
Option C: Skrtel to Evra and Ade to Gabby meaning cash in bank and I can get Demps for any mid I want in GW 35 without hit, but is it smart to sell 2 GW 36 double players?

Please what to do and why, Thanks,
P.S. Currently on 8 players for this week

I think Heskey is out of contract in the summer. Weimann is a hot prospect. Makes sense to give the minutes to Weimann, especially since Heskey is crap.

Bogdan is 2pt machine. Given is gonna be on 3-4pts this week and I will not be surprised if they get a CS. Next week he will be on 9 - 14pts and Bogdan on 4pts, so it makes sense for me

Can field a team of 11 this week and save transfer but now getting itchy and thinking of dumping Bale for Sess/Nasri. Wise move or should I stick?

I would want Bale for DGW but risk is that Spurs beat Chelsea and then Bale probably won't play both in DGW anyway.

    Thoughts? Stick or twist?
    Sess or Nasri?

Samir Nasri is a name I have not seen mentioned on here. He seems to have rediscovered his Arsenal form and has a couple of tasty fixtures. Could be a significant differential if anyone has the funds. Walcott, Valencia and looming DGW will no doubt prevent this for most people though.

Great differential though. Everyone ignored Kun last week in favour of Roon, Cisse, RVP. If you are chasing points you do not get many great differential opportunities at this point in the season.

Still "into it" just having a shocker. Plus this game used to be a lot easier for football nerds like me before this site was around and there was the annoying January wildcard. That extra wildcard is killing the game for me. By February everyone has the same team and you start having to take risks to chase points. I dumped RVP and he went nuts.

Good to hear. You are still one of the most consistent FPL players I've come across on here.

The free WC's that were dished out early in the season killed me. I felt obliged to use it and ended up selling Silva. He of course went on a unbelievable run and I think I sold and re bought him x3 this season.

Not Rvp(c) for his monster haul vs blackburn after Arsene said he would rest him put me back a lot. Have been struggling ever since to claw back ranking and doubt I will be lucky enough to get to top 1k.

    I am chasing a lead of 42;

    1) I am currently fielding 9, rival is fielding 10 with a 4pt hit. I saved my transfer planning for the DGW but should i use it now to match my rival 10 for 10? I have Enrique so my transfer would be him out and probably an arsenal defender in?

    2) My rival will captain RVP - with a 42pt deficit is it time to gamble? I have been planning for the DGW to make my gamble/march. I have Rooney, he doesn't so this is a differential already.
